Fun @underdog25!
How long were you engaged? 18 months
What does your ring look like? Square halo setting, not wedding band
What did your dress look like? Ivory fit and flair with a bow at my hip
What were your wedding colours? Light grey and royal purple
Favourite part of your wedding day? Having all of my favorite people in the same room
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Actually yes. A huge flood happened in the town I was getting married in the weekend before. All of the road were wiped out and my venue was hit by a mudslide. We had 4 days to find a new venue, caterer, florist, H&M, booze! All of it. But it worked out wonderfully ad we had a beautiful wedding.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here I loved planning our wedding and we always say how much we'd like to do it again! With each other of course:)

How long were you engaged? 14 months. Only that long because we got engaged in May, but for family reasons we needed a summer wedding What does your ring look like? Cushion cut diamond with 6 accent diamonds What did your dress look like? Halter top, just a little bit of bling What were your wedding colours? Blue and silver Favourite part of your wedding day? Honestly, the next day when everybody left, and DH and I went home and opened our presents. Also, our food was really good. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? a very weird drunk toast. I am not sure why the DJ handed the mic over to somebody with a bright red face 4 hours after the bar opened.
How long were you engaged? 22 months. I mean, let's not rush things.
What does your ring look like? It's my grandmother's engagement ring from 1942. It is priceless to my life.
What did your dress look like? strapless, sparkly, A-line
What were your wedding colours? Uh, purple and white, I guess? My sister was MOH and she was pregnant so I let her pick whatever dress made her happy and comfortable. That was purple so there ya go. She carried white tulips and I carried purple ones. The end of colors.
Favourite part of your wedding day? The whole fucking day.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Make up artists didn't show. Mom and coordinator freaked. I was like "What the hell ever."
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here My wedding was 12 people in Bermuda. We married on a deck over the ocean. It was PERFECT. Our pictures are actually displayed on the Bermuda's hotel website for weddings.

How long were you engaged? 7 years What does your ring look like? It's white gold, a simple band that comes together in a heart that has tiny diamonds in it. What did your dress look like?
What were your wedding colours? I didn't do a "traditional" wedding so we didn't have a theme or anything like that. Favourite part of your wedding day? Saying our vows. MH & I wrote our own and it was a great personal touch. I bawled through his and my own. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? His aunt was our officiant and she got lost on her way there. I was freaking out. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? MH & I always agreed that when we finally did get married, it would be super lowkey. We got married at a local park, in a gazebo that they had there for weddings. It was all family and one close friend, about 15 people maybe. Then we all sat at benches in the park and ate food that everyone had brought. It was perfect in my eyes. We went home and our honeymoon was playing video games and watching LotR.
ETA & because it was killing me that the pictures were different sizes.
How long were you engaged? Exactly 9 months. We get engaged on our 5 year dating anniversary, and married 9 months to the day after that.
What does your ring look like? It's a princess cut with a halo band.
What did your dress look like? Let's see if I can figure out how to attach an image! I apologize if it ends up huge...My dress was a ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and lots of tulle.
*snip*
What were your wedding colours? Pale pink, cream, and a light grey. Our flowers were all pinks and creams, I loved them!!
Favourite part of your wedding day? Walking down the aisle with my Dad, and being SO nervous, and having him reassure me...and then seeing my husband's smile when he saw me. We also wrote our own vows, and reading those to each other was really special.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? *snip*
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here
We got married outside and it was one of my favorite parts of the venue. PDQ the below as I will probably delete, but I loved the flowers and chandeliers our florist did! (This was the arch we got married under, I used a picture of only us below though as I didn't want to have the bridal party in it). I also wrote our whole ceremony because it was really important to me to have something really personal and very "us"....I still have the text of it and it makes me tear up every time I read it.
joy, your ring is absolutely beautiful and so is your dress! I love your beach pictures as well :-) We wanted a destination wedding but it was too hard for my grandparents to travel so we had our wedding in our home town. However, we did a beach ceremony with just the two of us once we got to our honeymoon, and it was so special! There isn't anything better than saying vows on a beach.

Ooohhhhh I love weddings!!
How long were you engaged? 9 months
What does your ring look like? Like this...
What did your dress look like? Like this...my avatar :-)
What were your wedding colours? Navy blue and red
Favourite part of your wedding day? We had fireworks! We were married on the Fourth of July and chose our location solely based on how good the fireworks would be.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Our DJ played the wrong song for our first dance. We stood there very awkwardly because he played a fast pop song until my aunt went and yelled at him and got it sorted out.
ETA how handsome my H is and my pretty bouquet. Do not quote. I will be back to DD this one.
What did your dress look like? I don't like my face here (I think it's silly), but this is the best picture of my whole dress I could find. A-line. *poof*
What were your wedding colours? Black and purple. Bridesmaids' dresses were black, with purple fabric tied around the waist. I would post a picture, but faces.
Favourite part of your wedding day? I mean, after the obvious "I do," it was the reception. It was so beautiful. And I loved finally letting loose. *poof*
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? The florist was late with part of the flowers for the church. The ones for the altar. They walked in as I was getting ready to walk down with my dad. Everyone thought I was going to freak out. LOL. NBD, though. It looked fine without, they removed the charges for them, and they brought them to the reception (the ones I gave to the girls at the hotel, for those who remember that story).

How long were you engaged? Just over a year
What does your ring look like? It's a princess cut diamond with 5 smaller princess cut diamonds on each side. Wedding ring is just a band with small princess cut diamonds.
What did your dress look like? Here's my dress but mine was white and no ribbon.
What were your wedding colours? Sage green and yellow
Favourite part of your wedding day? Being done with all the planning and just being married to H.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Our limo experience was awful. After the ceremony, on our way to the park for pictures, the limo lost power in the back. AC went out and it was super hot in there. Then the driver started taking the LONG way to the park. We couldn't get his attention because the glass wouldn't go down so people were just banging on the glass. Finally he pulled over and we gave him better directions. Took him 2 or 3 times driving down the road to find the park. We got to the reception late and he had the nerve to ask for more money because we went over our time. We were livid and refused to give him anything. After the wedding, I complained to the limo company about our experience and they gave us a free party bus for a night. We used it for a bar hopping night with all our friends and the driver was awesome!
Also, our DJ company went out of business but luckily some of the DJs came together and created a new company and took over the existing contracts.
How long were you engaged? 1 year (technically 3 days over a year, but who counted ) What does your ring look like? It is my mother-in-law's first engagement ring. It is a fairly small princess cut diamond set into white gold (which makes the diamond look way bigger). She gave it to him shortly after she met me. He took that as a sign of approval and stashed the ring for a few years. What did your dress look like? White, strapless. Huge train with lots of beading. It was sort of an 'over the top' dress but I fell in love with it. Fun fact, I purchased it at a thrift store. it had the original tags on it and came in a dress bag. The store owner said a local bridal store had brought in a lot of last season's dresses to donate. It fit almost perfectly. What were your wedding colours? A light aqua color. It wasn't necessarily the color I would have chosen but rather it was the only color that was available in the dress that would fit my sister-in-laws. (One is extremely small framed and thin, and the other is very tall with a bigger frame) Favourite part of your wedding day? How everyone came together to help me pull off the wedding and help us celebrate. The weather was absolutely lovely. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Leading up to the wedding, my in-laws absolutely flipped out about me wanting a DJ so I cancelled it at the last minute.
We had some big surprises on our wedding day.
1.We did a chicken barbecue which had some people side-eyeing. The guy who did it had an emergency and pretty much dropped the food off and ran. So we had all this food and no one to set it up or dish it out. My dad's friend's wife stepped up and served the food.
2. Our baker who made the cake had an emergency as well and had to leave before serving the cake. The same woman who dished the food, cut the cake. MH's cousins served it.
3. And the absolute biggest. My mom did NOT come to my wedding. She has dementia and at that time we didn't really know she had it. I'm assuming that's what it was. She flat out refused to come. I still had a good time. My photographer got a very awkward picture of my face when my dad broke the news that my mom wasn't coming. He chose not to put it in the albums.

Please don't quote anything. Anyone who knows me IRL would know who I am based on my answers so I may come back later and delete some of it.
How long were you engaged? Just over 10 months. We got engaged the day before our 1 year anniversary then got married 10 months later. The wedding ended up being exactly 2 years from the day we met.
What does your ring look like? **POOF**
What did your dress look like? **POOF**
What were your wedding colours? Our main color was a cobalt blue inspired by dendrobium orchids (dyed blue).
Favourite part of your wedding day?(details removed due to potentially identifying information) We also had a fire pit and brought supplies for s'mores. That was a big hit!
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Our photo booth crashed halfway though the wedding (additional details removed due to potentially identifying information).
How long were you engaged? Just over a year. What does your ring look like? Blake designed and our rings and had them made by a local artisan. I love them. Mine is a thick band (white gold) with two lines going around it and a mystic fire topaz in the middle. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit anymore so it just sits in a drawer. What did your dress look like? What were your wedding colours? Black and purple Favourite part of your wedding day? I don't know. Hmm. The funniest part was when the guy performing the ceremony couldn't remember my name, had to look at his paper, and then said it incorrectly. We both cracked up laughing when he did it. It was hard to try to stay composed. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Our photographer fucked up and lost all our photos. So the only photos we have from the day are shitty ones that family and friends took.

How long were you engaged? Exactly a year. We were married on the date that we got engaged.
What does your ring look like?
What did your dress look like?
What were your wedding colors? Black, white, and light blue
Favorite part of the wedding day? It was pretty amazing all around, but I loved the reception and getting to see everyone that was there for us.
I had never thought that I would get married, honestly so I was starting from scratch with the planning. It was fun to have gone through, but something I hope to never have to do again.
Can't share many pics since I am mobile but I'll still play
We were engaged for 14 months.
My engagement ring looks like a smaller version of the "Princess Diana" ring, except it's an oval emerald in a ring of smaller diamonds, and there are two Celtic knots on either side.
My dress was from Alfred Angelo, it had beading in a flowery/vine type thing on one hip and along the opposite side bust, big skirt, lace up back. I'm doing a bad job of describing it but it's not on their website anymore
Our wedding colors were dark blue, gold yellow and ivory. Basically we wanted you to think George Washington's uniform.
I loved our theme so much. It was kind of a history thing, since we got married at a place that used to be part of Washington's Mt Vernon estate, are both GWU alumni, and just love history. Our readings were from the correspondence of John and Abigail Adams. Each table was named after a president, and I designed trivia cards for each table - each card had some fun photo of the president and five pieces of trivia about them, including one that tied to either MH or myself.
Also our recessional was the theme from the Muppet Show, so that was pretty epic. (best string trio ever - no amplified music was allowed outside so we had to do something )
No big catastrophes or surprises - there was a huge rainstorm the night before so we were scared we wouldn't be able to have it outside, but everything worked out.
How long were you engaged? We were engaged for about a year and a half. I was still in nursing school and we wanted time to plan a wedding. I did get married though in the middle of my second to last semester. No way was I putting off getting married for 8 more months.
What does your ring look like? I have a princess cut stone kite set with small diamonds on the band part. Wedding band matches with small diamonds and then DH bought me a second band for our first anniversary that matches.
poof
What did your dress look like? Ivory, strapless. I will try to find a picture because I have a hard time describing what the bottom looked like. Might have to add later because I don't have anything on this computer.
What were your wedding colours? Gold, brown, burnt orange
Favourite part of your wedding day? Hmmm, that is hard! What sticks out most in my mind is probably the speech my MOH gave
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? I had to "yell" (speak sternly?) to my and DH's family right after the ceremony when the photographer was taking pictures. They kept popping in with their own cameras and I was finally like, hold up. I paid this woman lots of money to take pictures of us and we have a reception to get to. If you want pictures after the wedding contact me and we'll get you one. This is her time now!! I felt mean, but seriously.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here I never went to the bathroom the whole wedding, and I don't even know how I managed that. Dress on at about 12:30 and not off til 9ish. Also never looked in a mirror and my people failed me. I get so frustrated by some of the pictures from the end of the evening where my headband is practically falling off the back of my head. Why did no one tell me?!?
AW because I made my flowers and I love them Plus a slightly blurry picture of Mr. Nugget and I.
I'll try to find pictures later....how appropriate when our anniversary is tomorrow!
How long were you engaged? 25 months (we got engaged after 7 months and wanted to finish college first)
What does your ring look like? engagement ring is a round solitaire. Wedding band is a hinge wrap around (could be interchanged with other rings for the center but I had it all soldered together)
What did your dress look like? I had a corset back with a wrap around front.
What were your wedding colours? Forest Green and yellow
Favourite part of your wedding day? It rained/stormed during the ceremony (we were inside) when felt like both our grandparents were putting their blessing on it since they passed away. Our pastor during the homily talked about what each color of the rainbow represented to a marriage. This cause a rainbow during our reception that we got a picture of that we used for our Thank you cards. Also, I wanted H to at least have one tear when I walked down the aisle...he bawled. We have pictures of them trying to hand him the box of Kleenex. Ok....I can't pick just one!
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Forgot c.d. of Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance. We had that partway through the reception then.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here.

Love this! PDQ!
We were engaged about 10 months after dating off and on for 9 years.
Ring:
Dress:
Colors were purple and green:
My favorite part was MH whispering in my ear that I looked beautiful during the first look because I actually believed him. Also my dad was not going to do a father daughter dance and decided to last minute and I am so happy we did.
MH best man lives out of state so he took the guys out the night before the wedding. MH was a puking mess the day of the wedding and was so hungover. Some of the pictures he looks like he is going to die but thankfully that was the only bad thing that day.
I loved my wedding day and love showing off my pictures because they turned out great.
This is so much fun!!! @underdog25, thank you for getting this started, I cannot wait to see what some of your beautiful ladies' weddings were like!!!
How long were you engaged? A little over 10 months
What does your ring look like? The band is also white gold covered in little diamonds, playing off on the halo from my engagement ring.
What did your dress look like? Ivory, a-line chiffon. I love how flowy it was. ***poof***
What were your wedding colours? Coral, navy and gold
Favourite part of your wedding day? We got about 15 minutes before we made of entrance in this tiny little closet in the back of the reception venue. They were trying to wrangle our guests away from the bar so the wedding party could make their entrance. We got some fresh appetizers and booze and just got to sit there ALONE and goofily grin at each other and marvel at the fact that we were married. ***poof***
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? No, it was perfect
***poof***

How long were you engaged?
Less than a year. I'm horrible with dates so I have no clue when we got engaged.
What does your ring look like?
What did your dress look like? I loooooooove my dress. Strapless, gathers on one side, has some embroidered little pink flowers on it.
What were your wedding colours? Light pink and brown
Favourite part of your wedding day? Besides getting married, my favorite thing was eating chilli fries at the hotel's restaurant. I had been on such as strict diet for at least 2 months. The chili fries were the best thing in the world.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? Oh boy did I have one. My son was 7 and he was one of the groom's men. He was so nervous that he threw up during the ceremony. I had such a hard time not running to him. ... luckily my dad and my cousin acted quick and got him out and cleaned up.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here We got married in an adorable chapel. I just fell in love when we saw it! This isn't the best picture, but it's all I have on my phone.
I love seeing all these pictures, everyone's weddings look beautiful! And all so unique :-)
I am going to AW one more picture....this is from the beach ceremony we did by ourselves once we got to our honeymoon in Antigua. It was so wonderful! We got to do the big wedding with all of our family at home, and then have a private ceremony for just the two of us that was much more relaxed. I just got a cheap dress online for this one, and we stayed at a Sandals who had a really inexpensive package you could get that would do the ceremony, a dance, a special dinner for us, and a sunset photo shoot. It was so fun!
What does your ring look like? No engagement ring. My wedding band is from 1925. It's white gold with an art deco design.
What did your dress look like? If I try to describe it, it will sound horrific.
What were your wedding colours? Navy blue, unless it was something my parents got their hands on. Then it was whatever shade of blue they found. Ugh.
Favourite part of your wedding day? Spending time with my sister while we got ready.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? 3 things. 1) There was an accident on the turnpike so some people missed the ceremony. 2)During the reception, my bra startes rolling up so the lovely PepperPottsJ climbed under my dress to help get it off. 3)The DJ announced it was time to cut the cake just as MH had snuck off to poop. So that was a little awkward when I was like, umm, he's in the middle of something.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here My dad made the place cards which doubled as bookmarks. The Edgar Allan Poe quote on the them referenced the neighborhood he grew up in.

How long were you engaged? 10 months
What does your ring look like? Roundcut center stone with pave' diamonds in platinum band.
What did your dress look like? "Oyster" cream-colored satin, strapless, princess cut, fit and flare.
What were your wedding colours? Cream/tan/brown, eggplant, lavender, gold
Favourite part of your wedding day? Every part. Getting ready with my best friends, the moment before I walked down the aisle with my dad, the ceremony, the amazing dance floor, the food... I would relive it all if I could!
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? My mom missed me putting on my dress because her husband (a firefighter) stopped the car on the way to help someone who'd collapsed in the street. Turns out the guy just had low blood sugar. We also had a few surprise guests who hadn't RSVP'd.

Oh I forgot to add one thing I guess was a catastrophe (DH thinks so anyway but I disagree). DH seriously stumbled thru the vows. He was supposed to repeat after the officiant (my aunt) but she forgot to look him dead on so he couldn't read her lips and he kind of had to make up the vows as he went. He feels like he screwed up and to this day feels awful about it. But I think he did great and it just gave us one more memory! He wants to eventually renew our vows so he can do them properly. He says he'll just memorize them or read them from a paper next time :-)
