What does your ring look like? .5 carat princess cut with a halo, wedged between my wedding bands
What did your dress look like?
What were your wedding colours? DH wanted Packers Green & Gold. We compromised with pale yellow, sage green, and a rustic/deep soft pink.
Favourite part of your wedding day? When our JOP said "You may now kiss the bride" DH very loudly said "Sweet!" before grabbing my face and kissing me. Everyone laughed and it made a great photo.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? During dinner I got so nauseated from the nerves, I barely ate. Then I had to run off to the bathroom with two of my BMs while I puked. The rest of the night, all of my wedding photos I have my dress unzipped halfway so I could breathe easier.

I love these! I can't stop love-titing they are all too great! Love weddings. We were engaged for 7 months. My ring is a cushion cut aquamarine surrounded by diamonds with diamonds on the band and the wedding band tucks underneath with diamonds on the band, platinum bands for both. There's a story about why aquamarine but I'll save that for another day. My dress was lace overlay over a champagne silk slip with some heading in the lace for some sparkle, with thin straps and a deep back (pic below, pdq). Wedding colors were blue and white, nothing much had color but the flowers and bmaid's dresses, it was very simple. Favorite part was...oh everything. My rehearsal dinner was a welcome dinner for all guests bc my friends and family were almost entirely out of state and I wanted to spend time with people, we rented a big boat for a sunset cruise and it was incredible! I wanted a more rustic/relaxed wedding but with some constraints we couldn't find the right place to pull that off, so it wasn't the wedding I had planned in my head. BUT it totally worked out, people danced and had fun. Our DJ was also a musician and was so awesome (played acoustic in ceremony) and then after I went with some friends to a bar, I really wanted to wear my dress to a bar for some reason and be able to enjoy and relax some and it was totally worth it...then we ate Chinese food at the hotel over the ocean, so perfect. Oh yeah and my dad is a minister and did our ceremony and we wrote our vows and I loved that! And our music, wait I already said that, ha! Catastrophes: had a few challenges, found out a week before one of my bridesmaid's husband's has leukemia and was very sick (they made it and he's doing better now!) and then the day before one of my dogs got super sick and had to stay overnight in doggie hospital plus we had to deal with getting him admitted, etc, with tons of people traveling from all over and my rehearsal dinner, etc. He totally recovered (we think he just had FOMO, ha...expensive FOMO). I've rambled enough! Here are some pics for your enjoyment: *poof* (left one

How long were you engaged? 5 months, together for 3 years. What does your ring look like? Solitaire, round 1/2 carat, white gold. What did your dress look like? White ballgown style, no bling, just plain satin with a white sash. What were your wedding colours? Cornflower and Horizon Blue Favourite part of your wedding day? The ceremony. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? The whole day... Got my period that morning, the wedding started late, because my family always runs late, cake did not have sugar in it.... tasted disgusting, DJ was awful. I could go on and on, but we were young and couldn't afford an extravagant wedding and I'm not a good organizer so it just kind of got put together.
I'm not good at inserting pictures or GIFs still learning.

Edit: Coming back to delete pics later.
How long were you engaged? 2 years. We took our time.
What does your ring look like? It looks like a ring Three square diamonds in a white gold setting.
What did your dress look like? A line, halter, beading.
What were your wedding colours? Pool blue, yellow and touches of lavender.
Favourite part of your wedding day? Our ceremony was super emotional. H and I were both crying. We also had a really cool handfasting ceremony.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? My younger (and only) brother was in the navy at the time and was stationed in Japan. I was told he couldn't make it. I was pretty bummed out because I hadn't seen him in a year. Couple days before the wedding my dad told me to come over to bring him something and my brother jumped out from behind the door. It's silly but I cried
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here: Pics?
@ismellbooks, there are a lot of similarities between our weddings! I wrote our ceremony and we wrote our own vows as well, and were engaged for exactly 9 months- so 1 day less than you. Also, our cake had birds on it too! Just different colors :-)
How long were you engaged? 10 months. Would have been 11, but 5 months into planning "the big wedding", we scratched it all and went to Vegas! What does your ring look like? Yellow gold double halo w/ a split shank and 2 white gold bands. DH's ring is a mix of white and yellow gold as well.
What did your dress look like? I think it is a fit and flare? It's a regret of mine. I hated it at the first fitting, but was so worried about being a bridezilla that I didn't say the alterations weren't working for me. I had to take it to a 2nd seamstress I was so uncomfortable with how it looked.
What were your wedding colours? No "official" colors. I had a black ribbon on my dress, the girls were in clack, and DH was all black. My flowers were pink and purple w/ gold. Favourite part of your wedding day? The whole day was pretty fun. We did everything backwards. Met for pictures while the guests gathered in the suite. We went up to hang out with them, ate and drank, had a quicky ceremony right in the room, then took off on a party bus with whoever wanted to go. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? MAJOR family drama. BIL & SIL gave super drunk weird toasts, SIL puked in the party bus, and BIL threw a lit cigar at MH in the middle of a casino and threatened 2 of my girlfriends. And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here. I made my bouquet and DH's bout w/ my grandmother's broaches.

How long were you engaged? Almost exactly a year What does your ring look like?
What did your dress look like? A-Line. Nothing too fancy.
What were your wedding colours? Purple and Orange - Very Fall-ish!
Favourite part of your wedding day? My ceremony was my favorite part. We wrote our own vows together and it was amazing. Not to mention the sun came out and it could not have been more perfect.
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? There was a golf tournament going on during our wedding that no one at the venue ever mentioned to us. I flipped my lid, but luckily the golfers were cool and didn't interrupt our ceremony.
And add anything else you feel the need to share with us here
There are grocery store flowers and they were BY FAR the best "gamble" I took that day.

How long were you engaged? Only 9 months because we moved it up to fit school schedules. We knew each other since we were 14 and had been living together for a year already. What does your ring look like?
I need to lose weight so it fits again. I miss it. What did your dress look like? It was inspired by Fleur's in HP *poof* What were your wedding colours? Black and Purple. My Raven's fan was very pleased Favourite part of your wedding day? All the nerdy references.
And my shoes...
Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? My son refused to be the ring bearer and we had to grab the best dressed nephew. But I got this super cute pic of DS anyway. *poof*
How long were you engaged? 19 months...a long time!
What does your ring look like? Diamond solitaire in platinum, wedding band is a row of diamonds
What did your dress look like? Some beadwork in the bust area, ruching to hide my stomach, corset back
What were your wedding colors? Red, orange, brown- it was in the fall
Favorite part of your wedding day: having everyone there and finally being married
Any catastrophes or surprises? Not on the wedding day, but we almost missed our flight the next morning. I don't know why we booked a 6am flight. I was still drunk at the JFK airport with all the pins still in my hair. We also didn't eat the food because we got so caught up talking to people.
A couple things I really loved were we had a taco bar as one of our stations (not that I had any), but it was very different from other weddings. We also decided to extend the reception for an hour while we were there. It was almost over and people were still having such a great time so we didn't want it to end. That was an expensive receipt to find the next morning.
Can't share many pics since I am mobile but I'll still play
We were engaged for 14 months.
My engagement ring looks like a smaller version of the "Princess Diana" ring, except it's an oval emerald in a ring of smaller diamonds, and there are two Celtic knots on either side.
My dress was from Alfred Angelo, it had beading in a flowery/vine type thing on one hip and along the opposite side bust, big skirt, lace up back. I'm doing a bad job of describing it but it's not on their website anymore
Our wedding colors were dark blue, gold yellow and ivory. Basically we wanted you to think George Washington's uniform.
I loved our theme so much. It was kind of a history thing, since we got married at a place that used to be part of Washington's Mt Vernon estate, are both GWU alumni, and just love history. Our readings were from the correspondence of John and Abigail Adams. Each table was named after a president, and I designed trivia cards for each table - each card had some fun photo of the president and five pieces of trivia about them, including one that tied to either MH or myself.
Also our recessional was the theme from the Muppet Show, so that was pretty epic. (best string trio ever - no amplified music was allowed outside so we had to do something )
No big catastrophes or surprises - there was a huge rainstorm the night before so we were scared we wouldn't be able to have it outside, but everything worked out.
OMG- I would have loved your reception. I've always had a things for presidents.

How long were you engaged? Almost 11 months What does your ring look like? White gold, Princess cut diamond in a square halo setting with small diamonds on top and bottom of band as well. What did your dress look like? Strapless with silver lace overlay on bodice, pick-ups on skirt. My dress was 2-pieces, which was awesome because it helped the bodice stay up better because it didn't have the skirt weighing it down. What were your wedding colours? Silver, fuschia, and teal Favourite part of your wedding day? Dressing up in my pretty dress. I never dress up and it was so nice to do it. Any catastrophes or surprises on your wedding day? No actual catastrophes but my cake lady was late and was putting my cake together in front of all the guests during cocktail hour. One of MH's friends invited herself to the wedding and wore a white dress. MH's large group of friends used our wedding as a friend reunion and spent all of their time outside the reception rather than inside celebrating with us (also none of them brought so much as a card).
I know not everybody on this board is married, but most are, and I just love hearing about weddings and seeing pictures (if you're comfortable sharing!).
We were engaged about 8 months.
My ring has a princess cut diamond in the center with baguettes on each side. It is platinum.
My dress was a strapless a line with some ruching/gathering on the front. It looked very similar to a dress I already had that DH and I both loved.
My colors were black, white, and pale yellow. The bridesmaids wore black and the groomsmen were in black and white with pale yellow vests.
My favorite part of the wedding day was the dollar dance. I got to dance with my mom. DH danced with my dad. It was fun. Also the dance we did to honor DH's grandparents. We played one of their favorite songs and they dance to it. We cut in the last 20 second and I got to dance with his grandpa and him with his grandma. We did an in-law dance too that I really loved. Oh, and the Pink Lemonade.
I was really sick with what turned out to be a sinus infection. I tried to get off work prior to my wedding to go to the doctor, but they wouldn't let me. There is a pictures of me holding a bag of cough drops looking like crap after a conga line the DJ had me start.
We had our wedding and reception in the same room. We went to a very small church that was in a store front at the time and didn't have room for a wedding there. It was so nice and easy to have everything in the same place.
Please don't quote the pictures
Our rings (ugh... tiny pic codes aren't working..... taking from FB sorry for size) ETA: Pics

I this thread so much! Everyone's weddings look beautiful! Also I guess FFWC but I kinda wish I could have another wedding day. The planning was not fun but getting all dolled up and the day itself were so wonderful.

I've felt that way too. I've dreamt of running away and eloping on a beach like joy did.
And, sorry not sorry, I told M the day after our wedding that I was already planning a 25th anniversary vow renewal in some fancy gorgeous library somewhere.
