I have a raging headache & I feel like I'm hungover. This really isn't fair.
This was me yesterday morning! Sure my living room was full of wine-drinking girls the night before, but I was not one of them!! Bah. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm having a me day since my DH has to work. Had a massage this morning and am now sitting at Starbucks enjoying a latte. Also have plans to go to a movie and wander the mall.
He's making overtime and here I am spending the money. No shame.
I love to crochet and I have already made a blanket for LO so I did some headbands! I want to make another blanket but not sure when enough is enough? Haha. Some other girls there painted wine glasses and one girl made this cool sign that says "home is where the coast guard sends us" and below it you hang little signs with the names of all your duty stations. I want to make one of those at some point (with Navy instead).
Oh, my BFF's H is in the coast guard and her brother made her a similar sign, it's really cool!
So far my LO has 2 crocheted blankets and I expect to make more and receive some as gifts, there will definitely be an oversupply of blanket at my house! I wish I was having a girl so I could make super cute headbands!
The house next door to me has been vacant for at least 2 years, it finally sold and was close don yesterday. The new neighbors are there right now, I don't think they're moving in because there's just one car and I would think the house would need a lot of work before it was livable. I want to meet them but I think I'll wait until tomorrow when H is home.
Ooh... I wonder if I can convince DH to go out and get some donuts! Today is my second day off sick from work and ordered bed rest for my back... So bored and donuts make every better right?

DH and I stayed up until 2am last night. Waaaay too late! We both had freelance work to do, add in a little sexy time on top of that and BAM...it's 2am. My kids woke at 6:45am. Thankfully-- DH got up with them and let me sleep in.
Other than that, will be deep cleaning the house in prep for Quentin's guy friends to come over for his pizza party. Lots to do! Have a great day, ladies!
I went to Zumba this morning, then I came home and consumed about 2000 calories in an hour, thereby negating any exercise I just did. But it was fun! (both Zumba & the eating part).
We got home from grocery shopping last night and I realized I didn't buy one single donut. I'm so mad at myself. I just want crappy chocolate or powdered sugar donuts.
Come to my house- between my sugar loving kiddos and my pregnancy "cravings", we always have donuts. You're welcome anytime
SassyPants150 You teach Zumba right? Was it a lot of work to get certified to teach? I am sort of obsessed with Zumba due to my last teacher. He was addicting. My new teacher (we recently moved) is like his polar opposite and I still love her/the class. I know it would have to wait until after baby is born but I've been thinking about becoming an instructor. Do they give you choreography to use or do you learn ways to come up with your own? And music- can you pick whatever you like? Can I drive 3+ hours to N/S Carolina and come to your class?
Morning everyone. Happy Saturday. I hate that I'm just getting caught up and there are so many pages to catch up on. It makes it so hard to tag on my phone too since it opens up only the reply box. Have a lovely day everyone.
Ooh... I wonder if I can convince DH to go out and get some donuts! Today is my second day off sick from work and ordered bed rest for my back... So bored and donuts make every better right?
Got it ladies!!! Courtesy of the Donut Palace
I am so jealous right now! I started off hinting... DH was oblivious. I have developed to full blown go and get me donuts and his response is "don't you think you should start eating properly?" I rarely have cravings/give in to them. This last week I have craved fruit and been eating a ton of it and I can't have one (well probably 3 donuts) I want a donut so bad if I wasn't being forced to lie in bed I would walk the 30mins to get one

I'm jealous of everyone eating donuts. They make me feel icky now when I eat them.
I have been having some serious back pain that seems like a pinched nerve. Fiancé told me where some cash was and I went to my massage therapist last night! She squeezed me in there were two knots she found on the side that I have the terrible pain. I am sore, but man it was great and relaxing!!
Taught Zumba this am... The room was to capacity and I had a great time

I was supposed to work today but got a low census on-call day (I'm a med/surg nurse). So, it's like 12:15 and I'm still in my pajamas. Thankfully, they haven't called me in!
I have a Subway sub I got yesterday when I was totally craving one and haven't had the appetite to eat it, so it's still in the fridge. I'm thinking I should eat it.
Went grocery shopping with SO this morning and decided to buy some of these bad boys. I should have bought 3 bags because I'm already halfway done with this one #pregnantgirlproblems
For the donut ladies: they were AMAZING!!! Custard-filled FTW.
We just got the BEST delivery!!! My mom sent us a box full of the most precious NB clothes!!! She got them from a woman on her local BST page--all in brand new condition, no stains or holes, and all super cute. We got a ton of sleepers, onesies, and leggings. I have only bought one outfit for her so far so it was so fun to look through all the clothes and imagine her wearing them in just a few months!

nurserachel22 - yep, on call my whole shift. It's not that bad though. The only thing that sucks is that I have to hang around home because we're supposed to be at the hospital in 30 minutes if called in. I hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday - it's nice to get an unexpected break once in a while! What do you work?
On a different random note: I just filed our taxes. I always get so excited to do that sort of thing then see my super small return (or in my head super small) and get sorta bummed out. I wouldn't get so frustrated if I wasn't paying SO much in student loan interest and not able to claim it (I pay almost 7K in loan interest a year... can only claim 2500 ) Along with other crap - just not a fun experience. #Firstworldproblem
I just finished doing our taxes but I'm not going to file until April. I owe a bit between state and federal. My mom is like oh don't worry next year you'll have a dependent. Yeah, out of curiosity I added a dependent. Still owe.
ahhhhh. DH and I have decided to get a changing table and maybe a crib so I'm on the hunt. We weren't going to get any of this stuff until we moved in August since the baby would hopefully have his own room then, but we're just going to go ahead and buy it before baby so we can use the changing table. I'm so clueless and have no clue where to start.
Ditto on the changing table! I keep trying to find one I like. SO and I went to a store last week and the one I wanted was 2k. Which is ridiculous!!!! It better change her, clean her, hand me diapers and sing to her for that price.
Let me know how your hunt goes! I will be doing so on my end as well
smile55kjerseyakl Thanks ladies! I think that's the color we are going with. It's called Botanical Garden. I definitely want it to be bright and fun, so hopefully it will turn out bright yet not obnoxious!
That's def the color I would pick too!! Looks so nice!! Can't wait to see pics!

It's a one day training and they hold them all over the US. All gyms will require CPR/First Aid and many will require a national certification such as AFAA/ACE/NASM which are all recognized in the fitness industry. I do mine through AFAA.
If you join the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN), you receive a CD or DVD each month of music and/or choreo or you can look to You Tube. The main thing is sticking to the Zumba formula. 70% International inspired music/moves, 30% Hip-Hop/Pop/whatever. Also, 30% of the choreo should be fitness inspired. Music choice is up to you! It's where you put your own style in!
It's a ton of fun and I have grown from a couple of classes a week to teaching multiple formats and Personal Training. The gym has child watch so I can work part time hours without having to pay for child care so I make pretty decent money without having those expenses involved. I do spend a good amount of money on other things that we write off every year such as trainings, tennis shoes, continuing education, etc.

jennadesigns I am prn in orthopedics and I do pediatric home health we do elective ortho surgeries. Backs, hips, knees, shoulders. I liked cool stuff I saw in med surg but did not like the stress! Couldn't pay me enough to return, but every hospital is different
@texasmama15 I'm super jealous of your view! It snowed some here last night but it's supposed to get up to 47 today so I'm sure it'll all be mush. amylee545 boyfriend and I are supposed to go bowling tonight with his coworkers. I'm prepared to be off balance and hear some "I'm hiding a bowling ball in my shirt" jokes Thanks all you ladies who are suggesting donuts! I will be begging boyfriend to get some donuts when he wakes up now I have a few randoms.. 1-I'm really looking forward to going out with boyfriend and his coworkers tonight. They'll be drinking and going to some Mongolian restaurant to do karaoke, then bowling. I'm glad to get out with other people! 2- I've woken up frustrated today. The dreams of fighting with my dad have started again and I'm really tired of them. I wish I could resolve our issues but I know he's going to be a two year old about it and I'm not ready to deal with that. 3- I had a rough night last night emotionally. Boyfriend left to go to his cousin's house for a little while, right as we were going to bed. I wanted to go but I could tell he wanted his family time. So after he left my hormones raged and I cried an ugly self-hate cry. I'm 19, unmarried, unemployed, college drop out who's now pregnant. I just feel so worthless sometimes, and the drama with my dad (calling me an embarrassment) and other issues did not help at all. I didn't even tell boyfriend about it because I don't want him to think I'm a failure. I eventually fell asleep alone and crying and I'm really hoping today is better.
Sorry that was kind of a rant.
I'm sorry you're struggling with this. I know how you feel... I'm 23, was married and divorced by 20. Dropped out of college, am having a second baby with a man that I will likely never marry, and am unemployed with no car and nothing of my own. It's really hard, and it's easy to get down on yourself for these things. But what has helped me is realizing that even though you may not be in the best position right now, that doesn't mean you have to be in this situation forever. As your baby grows, you will find a motivation that you never knew you had to better yourself and to do what you can to ensure your baby has a good life. I know that right now you likely don't have many options (I say this because I know that in my situation, I don't), but until and after baby comes, you can use that time to figure out what you want to do for yourself to be happy and to have the life that you want to have. Please don't let yourself get discouraged. One day, you will look back on this time and see that it pushed you to do better. As long as you do that, I promise your baby will be proud of you. Hugs to you mama!
Me, DH and his whole family have a wedding to go to tonight. I really don't feel like going-it's half hour away, I have to drive bc everyone else will be drinking, I have trouble seeing at night (even with my glasses on) and it's snowy/rainy/icy out. Oh and I feel so big and unattractive. At least the food will be great-I'm just going to eat my way through the whole wedding
On a positive note-I am so happy for the couple getting married. They are family friends of DH and have been together for years....they actually found out they are expecting their first baby in June (completely unplanned) so they decided to get married now. They are such nice ppl-I'm so happy for them and their little family
@sastahlman thank you so much. I just teared up while I read that! It's truly amazing how much words of encouragement and virtual hugs from internet "strangers" can really help me feel better and keep my chin up. I'm sorry you're in the situation that you're in as well. We can get through this! hugs to you too!

AW warning. tl:dr I bought a car yesterday and I'm super excited about it!
After both DH's and my car unexpectedly went out of commission in the past couple of weeks and were both not worth the cost of repairing, we were able to take advantage of my FIL being in town (with a rental car) to go car shopping up in LA yesterday. We looked at a few cars but ultimately, after some prior advice/concerns from both my dad and alwayslastzz (thank you!!!) I decided I wasn't comfortable getting a car with a salvage title. Even the one that the owner said was salvage due to theft ended up showing as having at least 1-2 accidents that totaled it on the Carfax. Sketchy much?
Anyway, we ended up at a dealer to look at a used RAV4. We took it to a third party for an inspection and were pleasantly surprised to find it had zero issues whatsoever. It only had one previous owner, never been in an accident, and has amazing Consumer Reports reliability ratings. Everything about the car was exactly what I wanted. I was totally sold, and unfortunately I think I gave that away to the salesman because as hard and as long as we haggled on price, they ended up not bringing down the price much at all. It was a fair price according to KBB, but still.
12 hours of shopping total and 5-6 hours at the dealer later, we drove home our '05 RAV4 with only 81k miles. It's going to be an amazing family car with the safety ratings, extra space and leather seats and...just everything. It's a huge, huge relief to have a driveable car again.
If you made it through all that you're a saint. Here's a shameless pic of the shiny new wheels!
