Okay I forgot who asked about the fruit veggie drops but these are the ones I give DD Happy Baby Cream drops and she LOVES them (I sampled them and they are tasty)
We also use long water proof sleeved bibs by bumbkins that way can let dd have fun and not have to change her clothes afterwards (comes in tons of colors and patterns...they have Pooh, Dr. Suess, Mickey...)
Thank you!! I couldn't find the other ones on Amazon so these are perfect! I now want ALL the cute patterns....I'm making myself start with 2 and I don't know how to choose!
LO tasted a pickle while we were out to dinner last night. I thought we'd get a cute sour face, and then be done, but she was enjoying it, until she flung it on to the floor (before I had a chance to take a picture, of course).
Those of you with gaggers/pukers, are you just trying again from time to time? She's got purees and puffs on lock, but when I try to give bits of solids it seems like she's getting it in the back of her throat and it's causing her to throw up. I'm ready to do BLW, but that seems like I might be pushing it?
DD made herself puke the last time she had half a puff in her mouth. I'm going to hold off for a few more weeks.
@zerozeroone What brands have you found that you like so far? We just picked up the Earth's Best jars. The pouches made me a little nervous because I read of one brand that had mold issues but I can't remember what brand it was, so I just stayed away from them. I liked the idea of jars better, anyway.
I don't know if you have Publix in your area but Earth's Best jars are bogo starting today. I think I am going to be getting some meat in the jars because I don't want to puree it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one sticking with 2 for a while then. I feel much better.
We are only at 2 a day. She gets banana oatmeal whenever she wants to eat it at DC and then eats dinner with us in the evening. I don't know when we will fit a 3rd meal in a.t.m.
We're still trying to figure out a sippy cup she'll like. We have some "transition" ones, but she's not really in to them. She'll take water from her bottle, or out of a glass, but that's all so far. Any ideas?
We use this one - clicky She can get the water out but doesn't swallow all of it and she just gets soaked.
I plop food down on the highchair tray all the time. I have to clean the tray every night, and he likes to hide pieces of food in his lap. The dog is so happy with her extra scraps. If we didn't have her the mess would be bigger.
My co-workers little boy has figured out that if he drops food over the side of his high chair then the dog comes over so he constantly does it.
Talk to me about puree pouches? Anyone fill their own? Is it worth it to buy re-usable ones. I'm hoping that eventually, my LO gets some teeth and eats real people food.
At what point did you/will you start feeding 3 meals a day? I've been dragging my feet on this one.
3 times?? I don't even do 2 unless it's a weekend.......is this a mommy fail on my part?
I didn't do 3 a day until DD1 was a year. I committed to one meal a day at 10 months... lol?
We are already doing 1 meal a day with Aviv although I don't beat myself up if we miss it for some reason, I will probably add another after I talk to her Pedi at 9-10 months since that would probably mean dropping a nursing feeding.

I was totally going to do this. I even had a squeeze station I got from my shower and pouches to fill. But then I wanted to get a new stroller and a convertible car seat and so I searched the house for things I could return so I didn't have to shell out the cash. I wound up returning all my bottles (other then medela, he squeeze station and pouches, and an extra infant car seat base we never opened. So now I prob won't do pouches. I was thinking that I could buy some organic pre made pouches if I felt I needed them for any reason (airplane ride, beach) I can't think of another time I'd use them as DD is doing a lot of BLW

I've been doing a lot of BLW but she loves eating with the spoon so I always make a big batch of fruit of a big batch of veggie so I can spoon feed her something every meal.
We're having issues with fruits -- DD just doesn't like them. I've made pears (she took to these the best), apples, mango, bananas, and peaches and I think they're just too tart based on her facial reactions. She did okay with the blueberries I mixed with spinach. Plain yogurt also got the same "sour" reaction yesterday. Mixing fruits with oatmeal kind of works but she's still not a huge fan.
I didn't have this problem with my older kids but they were also fed Earth's Best jarred food. I know that sugar wasn't added but I wonder if they were less tart somehow?
Any ideas? Keep on offering what I make? Try jars? (I'm trying so hard to save the money this time, though!) Mix all fruits with veggies? She loves all her veggies, even the green ones!
I would keep offering her the fruits. The bananas should "sweeten" things if you wanted to mix. Ds wasn't a fan of strawberries but when added to banana he loves them. I also added a bit of cinnamon to the apples and that allowed ds to have some variety between plain apples and "applesauce".
What kind of veggies have you done? My ds is a fruit guy and seems to not care for veggies in puréed form.
Bananas seem to stop her up a bit so that's the main reason I've not given them as often. I did just mix cinnamon with her peach/oatmeal breakfast and she seemed to like it better. She tried scrambled eggs too and LOVED them.
For veggies, we've done peas, green beans, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots. She likes them all but her favorites are peas and sweet potatoes.
She also loves avocado, which I suppose technically is a fruit.
I think I'll try the roasted blueberry/banana idea someone posted up thread this week. And maybe carrot/Apple.
PS: I haaaaate that Apple defaults to a capital letter with autocorrect. Stupid annoying!

We have 2 types of pouches, a Sili squeeze that is silicone and I love it for smoothies for DS1 and ReSqueeze. The ReSqueeze doesn't hold very much, it zips at the bottom and has never leaked. We had squeeze'ems and they were horrible. They filled at the top and DS1 could take the top off. This time around I am using glass jars for his food and haven't used the pouches yet. Hope this helps!
Okay ladies, does anyone have any tips for getting LO to eat solids beyond purees? LO HATES things that he actually has to make effort to chew/swallow. We've tried a variety of different puffs. For actual real foods, I've tried cutting up blueberries. With the berries, it's 50/50 if he'll eat them...most of them just end up sliding out of his mouth.
He makes no effort to pick up food. If it's something that's not food, he's all about picking it up and ramming it in his mouth. Ideas? Is it just a developmental thing maybe? He's 7.5 months for those on mobile who can't see my ticker.
ETA: he eats mashed up bananas. Emphasis on mashed up.
