Help Appreciated! I hope I'm just psychic myself out, but I'm fairly certain DH and I have had some serious and long term carbon monoxide exposure. we finally confirmed a long standing leak in our woodstove stove stack, when a buddy broke a hole in the stack late last night. Obviously burning all last night was a bad idea, and that poses a certain problem...but more unsettling is the small leaks we found upstairs. Smoke has been leaking out there too, but we'd never realized, because if you're starting the fire, you're down AT the fire.
mild CO poisoning explains a LOT of what we've been experiencing lately, DH seeming to "project" my pregnancy symptoms on himself, waking up with daily headaches everyday but only when I sleep at home, horrible vomiting (for me) that was diagnosed as HG, and extreme fatigue enough that we both got tested for mono within the last few mos. It could also explain the numbness I get in limbs and why watching TV downstairs makes me dizzy. I'm so worried reading possible effects online, and have a dr. Appointment tomorrow - but the fact still stands we live in this two room barn heated by this stove, and are supposed to get a huge storm tonight. I can't just not heat the house!
Sorry that was so long...and I don't really know what anyone can do. I guess I'm just hoping I'm psyching myself out and someone will tell me how nutty I am
Omg is this something that could be covered under homeowners!? That's scary!!!
