My Costco is in a very ethnic area. This is what I see every time I go. The Asians bring their whole family and feed them a whole meal by just the samples they are giving out. And when I mean the whole family there is at least three generations, I swear sometimes four. There is always one woman who isn't Asian, Hispanic, Jewish, Italian or Russian who yells at those ethnic people for cutting her in line for a free meatball or in today's case, kielbasa.
The Hispanic families always have three to four carts but only one person actually has the Costco card. But they make 10 different transactions.
The Italian and Russian husbands always want to buy more meat than the wives allow. Today I heard, "No we don't need a 20lb turkey for three people. What are we going to do with a 20lb turkey?!?!" and the excuse is always the same…"Its a good price."
The Jewish families always look like they are trying to find one specific item but you never see them at the register. Not sure if they ever actually find that one item. But they always have a cart and its usually empty.
Its a great place to people watch when a storm isn't on its way.
I can't really think of an eloquent way to say this but I find people watching really interesting too, however the generalizations in your post really rub me the wrong way.
I don't mean to offend anyone. But most of the people who live in my area are immigrants or 1st generation. Like my parents who immigrated here in the 60's from Italy. Seriously no offense its just things I tend to observe.
