megsw85 Poor little guy! That's all they're doing? Zofran? You have to wait until Tuesday for an ultrasound and blood work?? Why aren't they doing that tonight at the hospital?? Are they just sending y'all home in between? I would be pressing for answers. There is more than can and should be done to find out what's going on! I'll be thinking about y'all!

Yeah that's all they are doing. This is a holiday weekend here so everything is closed until Tuesday.
The Dr pretty much said that cause he looked good and was happy there wasn't anything they can do right now.
If they had come in when first got there they would have seen a kid that was crying and screaming in pain. Until he shit on me. Thankfully I reacted quickly and it didn't really land on me.
We got home after an hour the emerg. He ate some toast and as we put him to bed he told us his tummy hurts.

megsw85 I am just blown away at how they seemed to just dismiss it. It's a hospital- they don't get holidays. At least here in the States they don't. That's why we have them. So there's somewhere else to go when everything else is closed. I'm so frustrated for you! I guarantee a child that came in thru the ER with symptoms like T has would have been admitted, for observation at the very least, but also to get the needed work up done. I hope this next day passes quickly for y'all and he doesn't get worse before you get to your appointment on Tuesday.

I'm just thinking out loud and maybe it's the nurse in me that is floored by what megsw85 is dealing with. What's the point in a hospital? If they won't diagnose and treat? I mean, that's what they do. That should be their job. Do I just not understand how it works in Canada? I thought it was supposed to be "better" as far as healthcare goes. Maybe I'm uneducated. I'm obviously very confused.
When I was sitting in the ER with my friend last month, every Joe Schmoe that walked in got bloodwork, X-ray/ultrasounds, exam done. And that was before they even made it to a room to see a doctor!!!
I just don't get it. I really hope you get some answers soon Megs and that T feels better quickly.
I'm jealous @violet83! We had the opposite experience over here at Roo Manor. B was up from 1:30-3 because??? No clue. Screamed bloody murder if I tried to put him back in bed. Screamed bloody murder if I tried to leave. He ended up "sleeping" in my room. At least N was an angel- I couldn't take them both going nuts at once.

megsw85 thinking about you guys and hope you get answers quickly! You would think that when he has had symptoms for that long and has a fever that he wouldn't be sent home. I'm so sorry Do you guys have a dedicated children's hospital?

Between DH at the music festival and my parents flying across the county to see their favorite band last night, I think I have earned a lunch out for myself today.

Our new nanny starts today and I really hope K transitions well. The older she gets, the tougher it is. She really loved our summer nanny. I really loved our summer nanny! hope this will be our last change until school.

I hope it goes well everydayimshuffling. I wish we could get a nanny. It would probably make so much more financial sense except that most of the good ones in our area also want health benefits.
Um, my baby just slept 6 hrs 15 mins straight. And not a peep from J. Two wakeups from H though about the lack of wakeups in our house and should we worry. This probably won't happen again til the kids go to college. It only took a 2+ hr crying screaming gassy nursing session last night. It's 5:02am and H is up emptying out all the garbage pails and putting it out for pickup. Nice start to the week.
This was the most fatass, decadent ice cream cake I could come up with for H's birthday tomorrow. One layer Ben and Jerry's chocolate therapy, one cookies and cream, and one coffee buzz buzz separated by one layer of ganache, one Oreos, and one a thin layer of brownie. I'll make fresh whipped cream and ice it in that. I hope this pans out, no pun intended. I've thought out all the little details...
Thank you all for agreeing with me not making me think I'm nuts. He slept through the night and so far seems ok. I'm not sure how long the zofran is in his system for
