I'm very late to the game and please forgive me for not re-introducing myself in the general thread.
Things have been really crazy for me with work and I just I had the chance (due to bedrest for preterm labor - more on that in a minute...) to update myself on TB happenings and low and behold - shits gone bonkers!
So I hope you don't mind me joining you here ladies - I was put on bedrest on Thursday evening from having contractions (not sure if they are real or BH), pelvic pressure, lower back pain and lost my mucous plug. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow to check on baby and cervix. I know you barely know me.... I am hoping for some support and from what I did see on TB, you ladies are da best!
I was cheechee3 on TB and may have only posted a few times here and there. Now that I'm in the couch for the next 3 months I will be able to offer more support and advice (if you will have me???). I'm 32, this will be my second son and I'm from Canada.
UPDATE:
I received word yesterday but with the scary news of irishvodkagrl I couldn't bring myself to update my good news when she was dealing with her emergency. I am so incredibly happy they were able to stop her labor and the babies are still cooking away.
Good news: I was able to successfully stop my labor from progressing but strict bedrest for the last week. My cervix is just below the normal range (4 cm - 3.5 cm for 26 weeks) but still fairly long (3.2 cm). Midwife still wants me to take it easy in fear of another flare up again. She thought it could be an "irritable uterus" which is exactly what you think it is. She said that she wants me to stay off work because with enough contractions - my cervix might just give way and I could deliver early. Better safe than sorry!
Still can't do much activity without the tightenings and pressure. So I guess it's Netflix for the time being! Anyone have any good suggestions for activities not involving the TV for bedrest?
