wedding I really hope he starts looking seriously. This age is rough but at the same time it's so awesome to see their personality coming through more and more. C sounds like a fun kid, it's sad that your H is having a time seeing it.
100th post: I brought the cheapo sling I got for free from Seven Slings into work and I carry animals around in it post op. Today a vet brought her chihuahua in with her and the dog wines non stop, unless I babywear her. It is cute but so hard to do anything.
Cherhorowitz Are you or YH left handed? Phil Mickelson is right handed but golf's left handed. He would mirror what his dad was doing when he was little. You probably already know that though.
I wasn't trying to be judgy. I didn't know little kid golfing was a thing. #hick.
Lol! I didn't think you were being judgy at all. I don't know that's it's a thing, as much as its some guys are in a total golf cult (my husband) and are always looking to indoctrinate their newest member.
Grandpa bought a set of little clubs but they stay at their house. We don't need more destructive stuff in our house. @cher Is the boy showing more preference to his left hand? Our little guy did for a while but it seems to be evening out now. Which is a huge disappointment for DH because "left handed pitchers are a rare commodity!!"
No! My kid definitely favors the right. I have no clue why they think left. They might as well just burn money. Or MH will teach him to golf left.
My husband and FIL have been wanting to get Spencer golf clubs for a while, but I have resisted...because he's 1 and it's cold and he isn't using them inside. Cherhorowitz, your picture may have convinced me that he needs clubs ASAP.
I mean.... I may be considering bringing them to Hawaii so he can golf with Dad and Grandpop. Or at least ride along and get adorable pictures.
I admit I have read nothing else in this thread. I will come back and do it this evening, I promise. But I have to share my current sticker shock. The cat was scratching at her mouth, so we took her in. They need to pull two teeth. Quoted a bill of $700-$1100 for the job. My husband was all like, "she's a member of the family! It's gotta be done!" And I'm all like, "I'm calling around." I called a vet who estimated $200 for the job, and he's rated highly. That's with all the extras stripped out, yes, but ultimately she just needs the teeth removed. Going to a vet is like going to a carwash. All the extras are nice, but ultimately I came there for one thing. The upcharges are ridiculous.
I don't know where you live ladystrat but the quote we would give would be the higher one. It is full anesthesia and that is costly. Plus taking teeth out takes at least 2 hours while under and 1 hr of prep work plus xrays. So paying a Dr and two techs to monitor has to be factored in somewhere. I am concerned about what the guy charging $200 isn't doing. Is he not doing full anesthesia and just heavy sedation? If so that is not very humane. Is he having people monitor heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels? Is he doing dental xrays to check for infected roots? Are they giving pain meds and sending you home with more? Are they putting in an iv catheter and keeping her hydrated with fluids?I don't really think of these things as "extras". They are there to avoid complications and to keep your pet safe and comfortable in the procedure and after.
The biggest thing vet clinics make money on is labwork. Exams we usually lose money on. Some surgeries we make good money, others we break even. I have definitely seen vet prices inflated greatly but I don't think the quote you got was unreasonable. Think of what your dentist would charge for the same thing and that requires far less anesthesia than a cat would get.
I was just going to say something similar, but not as smart. My dog has had a few teeth pulled and some other dental work. Every dental procedure has been over $1k because he has to be sedated, anesthesia, etc. I honestly get sticker shock every time I go to the vet but I think their prices are fair, just high.
People keep telling me that C is thinning out. He still looks like a chunky monkey to me.
You may be getting a lot of random thoughts from me today. People are super weird around here right before a storm, so it's barely worth attempting to work.
people keep telling me Doug is thinning out too. In fact in the last 2 months he's grown an inch and lost a pound so 27th urns out they're right. he Still looks chunky to me. I need. yes. need. more Colin pics.
First off, Doug is a ridiculously adorable name. 2nd my C is also thinning out and it makes me sad. He looks SO much older
One more thing Re: chips. C has had tortilla chips at chillis but they mostly end up on the ground. But he will likely turn into an Annie's cheddar bunny one of these days! He is obsessed. DH wanted me to get Goldfish because DH likes those more but if he is going to have a cracker addiction lets at least buy the healthier option, right?
MH thinks C goes through an insane amount of Goldfish, really I just can't stop eating them!
Eternal dilemma - when you puke, do you go for the toilet, or the sink?
I always end up in the sink (because the thought of puking in the toilet makes me want to puke even harder) but then immediately regret it when I have to clean up the sink rather than flushing the toilet.

wedding I think the weekend idea sounds great. I hope he finds a therapist soon. And also, way to go, C trying to put on your own shoes! How great is that?!
