Is baby acne common? Jack's little cheeks broke out pretty badly last week. Poor guy.
When does Sophie (super teether/toy) come on the scene? When will bebe be able to grasp it?
DD had a pretty bad break out of baby acne. Her ped at the time told me it would clear up on its own but gave me a cream I could put on it. Way more expensive than it was worth. Just don't pick at it, it will scar.
As for Sophie- not the slightest clue what it even is. Lol
Acne is really common. It goes away on it's own, though breast milk helps clear it up faster.
It depends on each child. Ds had a hard time grasping things until 5 months, but dd was chomping on Sophie by 3 months. Both of them had a tooth by 4 months.
When should a baby be able roll on their back during tummy time? E did this yesterday at about 3 weeks old, and it caught me off guard. Stop it baby you are not allowed to grow up!!

Thea flipped over at six days old. But it is totally a fluke. She has done it one other time, but it kind of depends how propped under her her arms were when I first set her down. DD1 started rolling consistently at 11 weeks, DD2 did it a few times between 8-10 weeks and then didn't start rolling consistently until like 16 weeks or something. I'm not sure when the actual milestone should be met by.
My son didn't get his days/nights straightened out till after 2 months old. Someone gave me advice to keep him awake during the day, then he'll sleep at night. Have you ever tried telling a newborn they can't sleep or eat when they want to? It doesn't go over well. We just sucked it up until his body adjusted on its own, which it did. Maybe another BTDT mom knows a secret way to fix this.
I also have the worst sleeper on the planet so I haven't slept more than 6 hours straight in 18 months. There's a reason why sleep deprivation is used as a torture technique.

elizabethnevadap, my Jack has terrible acne too. It first showed up about day two and its now starting to clear up (he's two and a half weeks old now).
Thanks ajetter, I think it was a fluke for him as well.
Does anyone know what is considered a normal amount of spit up? The last 2 nights E has been spitting up to the point where he wakes up wet and/or laying in a puddle.
elizabethnevadap, jgesi, @aliam20, It wasn't a perfect solution that immediately worked, and it may be tricky not being winter but I set an alarm on my phone for 8:00pm and started turning lights out in the house. WE'd turn down the TV (or off) and just start to chill and be calm until his last pre-bed feeding. He'd give us a few hours after maybe a week of this. Then we bumped it up 15 minutes earlier, then 15 minutes again until he was going to bed around 7. WE still had issues with other things, but he eventually got the days/nights things figured out by...4-6 weeks. Then our biggest battle became teaching this kid to nap... apparently we had taught him days vs. night TOO well.

I don't know what is normal but we are dealing with spit up too. We did with DD as well. I hate seeing her spit up so much (Rose spat up her entire bottle during our newborn shoot this morning). I chalk it up to sensitive stomachs and know that as long as they are gaining weight, it will hopefully be something they grow out of (DD1 did when she was 9 months old).
Here is some advice. Burp often. We attempt to burp Rose every 1/2 ounce but make sure she gives us a good one every ounce. Keep baby as upright as possible for about 15-20 minutes after every feeding. Try not to put weight on the stomach or scrunch the stomach. I get the best burps when I actually stretch her by holding under her armpits and have her butt barely resting on my knee. That way there is no pressure in her stomach.
What do you guys recommend for diaper rash? Poor babe has a rash on his bum ): I've been using A&D, but do you guys recommend anything better?

pure coconut oil and air time. Lay down a toweland let him lounge on that for awhile since he will most likely pee (or even poop) but give him some breaks and air time, then the coconut oil and let him air out until it's not so oily and has soaked into his skin a bit.
Pink Salve, and the maximum strength (red tube) Butt Paste also work for us.

I made a Peds appt. for Jack on Monday, all this straining and grunting and fussiness while he sleeps, it's getting to be all the time. He's not constipated, so maybe reflux? Poor guy.

Similar over here. The grunting and spitting up to her throat and choking. I called our pedi office today and they think it'll pass but I'll call again if it worseens or continues
Same over here hopefulreturn and elizabethnevadap. He started straining/grunting until he turns red, and is more fussy than usual. Normal stool though, so not constipated. Maybe gas?

My guy has massive spits up every few days to once a day, like they go everywhere within 2 feet in front of him. I've been told it's normal as long as it's not most feelings and he doesn't appear distressed before or during it. Oh and that they are gaining weight fine.

I've been giving him gripe water, but I'm going to Target tonight and I'm going to pick up some gas drops. Hopefully it will help, it looks like it hurts.

This is us exactly. With all three girls. Multiple outfit changes for both of us, never enough burp cloths, giant puddles of spit up. But it doesn't seem to bother them and they gained weight just fine.
