Got up early this morning for a web training for work. Glad my video presence wasn't required, since I was in PJs and nursed DS twice during the training. My supervisor wants me to come back one day or at least half day a week. I think I may bring my manual breast pump to the beach with the ILs next week & see if DS can successfully take a bottle or (more likely) cup of milk. That would make going to work to help with patient visits more likely, whereas right now I just go for the back end / paperwork type stuff. DS is so good just playing on his own or napping in the wrap while I work, but I know once he's mobile that is less likely to be true.
My sister is heading to the desert today, so she'll be completely out of touch for 2 weeks. I miss talking to her already. Maybe DS will wake up from his nap in time to have one last video call, but I doubt it.

Is your sister going to burning man?
Yep. Can't remember if it's her third or fourth year going.
Counting down the days left in this wonder week/month/whatever (9 more!!!!!), and ready to have a happy baby again. On Sunday he didn't nap AT ALL, and yesterday apparently only when my husband was holding/rocking him. He still goes to bed well at night, but those last couple hours are a squirmy mess.
Tried our first real solids last night. Green beans didn't seem to be a wonder food, but he didn't scream or turn them away, so success? He also liked the PopIce I let him put in his mouth, but don't tell anyone...
lilyelayne, Thanks! It's really all on the gym owners and trainers. I can keep G on the gym floor with me during the workouts, which is a huge help, since otherwise I'd have to drop him with DH at work (none of the gyms here have daycare) and I couldn't do that as often. If he doesn't get to participate as a weight or just by wiggling around on the floor, he also gets snuggles from a couple of the trainers.
I've got rugby starting up properly next month and I need to get the arrangement with DH set up so I can do contact and touch league once a week each.

All of you with this running talk makes me feel so lame with my attempts to exercise. I have to wake up early and start getting after it. I'm just struggling with the concept of giving up sleep for cardio.
On the topic of exercise, I just did a wedding itinerary for a customer and one of the events listed is a 9:00am cross fit beach workout That is not the first thing I'd jump to do while vacationing in Mexico.

Ha my H and my Bff/moh went for a 10 mile run the morning of our wedding. Crazy people.
And don't feel bad my baby sleeps through the night and I sah, if either of those things didn't happen I guarantee you I would consider the trip from my couch to the coffee pot adequate exercise.

I think my love affair with adorable winter outerwear has taken over DD's wardrobe. I just got all her 12 month clothes to wash and organize and she has: 2 fleeces (after I return one), 2 sweatshirts, 2 sweaters, a vest and a coat.

So, crazy crossfit story here: I booked it to get to a gym at 9 am on a Saturday in Tokyo after being in Japan less than 18 hours so that I could do the last workout of the 2014 Open. I had to duck into a hotel to find it and they called the gym so that I wouldn't miss my heat/start time and they knew to still expect me. I may be a little nuts at times.
MIL is now full blown coughing. Not even hiding it from us now. She is bloody sick for sure. I'm back in the office today to avoid her germs. DH and I talked about this last night, it's probably better for me to go out to work so I don't get sick along with everyone. DS has his first vision appointment today. I'm thinking I should go home to take DS myself so he's not trapped in the car with MIL.
Stock market dropped yesterday, I panic-sold my stocks. Of course it'd have to go up today so I'm losing out on 20k. Shit, I really suck at this.

aggiebug et al who did baptisms/christenings: where did you buy your baptism garb? My mom offered my own baptism outfit without looking at it...it's stained (and honestly wasn't my style anyway), so I need to get DD one of her own.

Umm my mom found it at heartstrings on sale for $16. It is a heartstrings outlet and it was more like a nice summer dress than a Baptism dress.
@boxerrmomma85 and dmorgendorffer and anyone else with bladder issues, if kegals aren't fixing things, ask your doctor for a referral to a women's health physiotherapist. More specialised than a regular physiotherapist and they are amazing at helping you recover and retrain your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles after birth.

That sucks. I'm buying because of the drop. Buy low, sell high.
Today I hit the gym, and then while the kids were at the gym kidcare I got a shower, washed my hair and shaved my legs. It was really nice to be able to shower and not worry about a kid waking up/yelling at me.
The Duck Donuts near me finally opened yesterday (without fan fare). I found out earlier today, so I'm going to convince DH that we should all go get dessert tonight. I'm not one who loves donuts, but fresh made ones are worth trying out at least once.
How long does it take for milk to leave the breasts when you stop pumping? I'm on day 5 of no pumping and I'm still so full. I had to manually express a clog out in the shower this morning. I'm thinking of getting cabbage on my lunch break. I don't remeber this from DD1.
Hey stranger! I was going to put the batsignal out on you and ChickenOnSunday since I only see you two on Parenting.
No idea how long it takes, but I've heard the cabbage leaves work. Lecithin works for clogs when your nursing and pumping, but I don't know if it works when you aren't removing milk. Maybe try the no more milk tea from earth angel mama?

umm dude we must be neighbors not kidding. That Duck Donuts is approximately 4 miles from my house.

Google maps says I'm about 3 miles from it. Yeah, I think we are almost neighbors. Come get some donuts later ;-)

Yeah, there's also the risk of buying low then the market drops even lower. The bubble in Asia is bursting, I sold to get out before the music stops. Still made a profit, just 20k less than if I had sold during today's dead cat bounce.

Don't tempt me! I think we might go for breakfast tomorrow Haha. I have never had them before but I have been looking forward to actually having a breakfast option in the area. And dunkin sucks
Am I the only one finding it really weird when people eat off of paper plates at home? MIL found my stash of paper plates that were left over from a party a couple months ago, and has been taking one a day. I'm grossed out by how she insists on using the same one for a whole day. Keeping used paper plates in the fridge to "keep it fresh".
I made dinner last night and set the table with real plates, she went and got her used plate out of the fridge to re-use. Where's a hurling gif when I need one?
PikoPiko I find that really strange. I can see something like badw0lf's scenario, but that is temporary and not reusing the same one (what?) and why insist on a paper plate when everyone else is sitting there with a real plate? Dishes will be done anyway.
PikoPiko I used paper plates the entire time I was on maternity leave because I didn't want to do dishes. However I did not reuse the same one everyday. That's gross.

No real spam from me today. Work is busy. I don't want to do too much today but have to.
Things on tonight's agenda -- trying to convince dh that I do need to sign up for the new Star Wars races in Disney world next April. And we should take a small family trip for the long weekend for it (will it work, probably not but its worth the shot!)

I might get to Parenting first thing in the morning and that is about it. I'm kinda burned out right now.
Happy birthday flyster @nolagal are you drying to dry up? If so you should think about taking a decongestant.

That makes more sense now. I'm doing some buying of stuff I think will come back. But I'm glad my company's stock purchase plan stuff went through a few days ago before the drop. It was a close one.
Your MIL is weird. I'll eat off paper plates if I don't feel like doing dishes like for a party or when we were replumbing our house, but no reusing of the paper plate. How much longer is she staying?

Makes sense. I do most of my posting MOTN because my kiddo is still up multiple times to nurse.
