I'm awake. The bottomless pit that is my child completely passed out after her feeding at 3, only to wake up demanding more an hour later. My H has been blissfully snoring away all night. 5 bucks says he still complains about being tired tomorrow.
Just finished a feed, but waiting for her to be more asleep before putting her back down. She has no been a fan of leftie since yesterday evening, so those feedings have been more difficult.
There is no sleep in L&D... This bed is a rock. My wife has the pullout chair bed thing which also seems rock like. My Mom insisted on staying all night and is on 2 chairs. She things our nurse (who is great) is a maid. She's gotten her so many pillows (4) and blankets (3). I feel horrible. Wife has 1 pillow and is content ... Sigh.

I'm exhausted. Even when she slept tonight, I didn't really. So scared of her choking due to reflux! My husband is blissfully sleeping as in keeping her upright 30min after eating.
I'm looking forward to today's LC appointment. Hoping for good tips and guidance!
So Little Miss A is 9 days old and happily eating 3oz per feeding. Is this alright? She has the average amount of dirty diapers and I haven't had any issues with spitting up, i just don't want to over do it...
The consensus I've heard is you can't over feed baby. I've never heard of a pediatrician telling someone to scale back what they are feeding baby. You should be good.
Does anyone else have nightmares about dropping baby? Seriously, they are on constant replay for me. Being a new mom is scary as shit as it is. Stop making it worse brain!
Teagan is 3 weeks old (+1 day), and today is her EDD. She's been a fussy pants all night, but seems like she's finally settling down now that the sun's coming up. She definitely takes after her daddy. He's been staying up for her 3AM feeding, then sleeping until 10 or 11. Not sure how that's going to work when he goes back to work. Luckily, he shouldn't have to go back for another month.

Rock beds are apparently the norm. I couldn't get comfy in mine at all. After the first night, a nurse came in and said "oh, is your bed not inflated?" She touched some button at the foot of the bed, and it inflated to a slightly thicker rock that self-adjusted and made loud obnoxious noises to keep me awake every time I moved. Thanks?
hiimjamie, The beds are the WORST. Ironically left my PP room with the worst back ache ever and it was totally the bed.
@missava387, Eliza takes a 4 oz feeding every 4 hours. More sometimes even. The NICU docs liked to give her a standing ovation during rounds because of it. Sounds like Little Miss A is doing great!
hopefulreturn, The fear is alive here too! E has to sleep on her belly for another month because of her incisions and grafts on her back. Obviously this isn't ideal because of SIDS risks, but there's not another option at this point. Super thankful for the 2849284 people in the hospital pointing this risk out to me over and over again. Obviously since we just got home, last night was the first night she slept without the required O2 and HR monitors they have on them at the hospital. I was a nervous wreck all night!!

I just fed the lo and then grabbed a yogurt for myself. The first part of last night lo would not settle till H turned on some white noise and then he slept a few hrs straight. I love that man.
LO is knocked out on my chest after a good feed. I can't believe he's actually breastfeeding so well. I really never thought it would happen. But we kept trying -- a "successful" session meant (1) he was on the breast, (2) no one was crying -- and feeding him pumped milk from a cup. Then one day he just got it. I almost cried the first time it happened.
Good luck to anyone struggling with feeding issues. It can be a rough road, for sure.

They have those stupid, useless nipples just to taunt us.
And the kiddos, too. My DD used to try to latch onto daddy when she was little...I didn't get it with all the hair in the way, but she would. Now, she says that he has daddy milkies.

Have you tried compressing your breast while she eats? W hates feeding on my left and once I started pumping I realized that breast has a much slower let down and has less milk. So now when I put him on it I use my hand in a "c" grip (where my thumb is on top and the other fingers on bottom) and basically express milk straight into his mouth. He immediately calms down and my let down happens much fast because of it. Hope she stops picking a favorite soon
My friend and I Skype last night and she helped me with the semi reclined breastfeeding position. The position was great and after a few minutes LO got it and we nursed PAIN FREE for 30 minutes (usually it's awful and takes 45+on each side). He then passed out. I am over the moon happy. We had 3 more successful feedings last night/this morning. Breastfeeding had been causing me a lot of anxiety so this is great news. Also he had been waking us up every 2-3 hours to feed so we haven't been setting alarms. However, after the good feed he was out for over 4. We are now back to alarms but it's nice to know he was so full for so long.
Last night was shitty. My mom is staying over to help with DD... she stayed up with her 11-4 a few nights ago between feedings. But then complained the whole next day that she was too old (43 as of last week) to stay up that late. So last night I kept her in our room until she cried. I always go to the nursery when that happens so SO can sleep since he gets up at 4. Well she kept sighing at me as she was sleeping in the nursery & my efforts to get DD to sleep were apparently annoying to her. I had nowhere else to go so idk what she wanted me to do. I appreciate that she's trying to help but if I'm going to stay up all night anyways, I'd rather she just went home.
It's FRIDAY!!!! And there are no students today! So Monster is coming with me to PD. H was given the day off, and has decided he will catch us up on laundry and possibly dishes.

Oh hell no. If she claims to be too old to stay up that late, she needs to go home. She's not helping. Prima Donna.
