So I had group supervision at my office yesterday. I pretty much never go in the office except once a month for these meetings. My co-worker overheard me talking about the pregnancy with other co-worker who is due a week before me. She was like "oh I didnt know you were pregnant, congrats!" And then made some comment about how she noticed during the meeting how big my boobs were and couldn't stop staring. Hahahaha! I about died laughing. These boobs are out of control!!!
my 1 year old is sick with basic cold symptoms but because our region is on hyper alert mode with measles outbreak daycare will not take her so another sick day for me at work.
Do we live in the same city? There were at least 3 accidents on my way to work, and on the radio they listed almost 10 throughout the city. We also have no logical reason like snow or ice or rain...
You anywhere near Buffalo? It never ceases to amaze me...maybe Mercury is in retrograde or something
Nowhere near! I guess it is a nation-wide thing today!
I did something to my back while sleeping on Sunday night. The muscle from underneath my shoulder blade that kind of wraps around to the front (very scientific in my explanation, I know) is killing me! I feel like it keeps getting worse because I am sleeping on my sides. The worst part (and tmi) is that it kills me when I wipe after going to the bathroom!
Thats awful!! Any way you can sleep in more of a sitting up position with pillows propping you up??
Mmmmm now I'm fantasizing about all the food I want for Super Bowl Sunday!
I am right at this moment Gchatting with my husband about meatballs versus lil smokeys for the party we're going to. I'd normally make something kind of healthy but it's a superbowl party. Screw that.
@justinslovo I always feel more anxious at appts by myself than if I bring DS. I think having a 2 yo there is a good distraction because otherwise I worry they'll tell me something horrible happened or something I did. When DS is with me I'm more worried he'll have a meltdown!
On a different note I kept dreaming last night that I was trying to call my ex boyfriend from high school/college and he wouldn't answer. But in my half awake moments I knew he couldn't answer because he passed away 3 years ago. But then I'd fall asleep again and start trying to call him immediately. It was horrible. Pregnancy dreams are the worst!

bwettstn and kasiaskis, hug a pillow while you sleep on your side, it will really help not strain your back. I used to get the worst back pain around my shoulders until I started doing this. I just use a king size pillow because I also like it to go between my knees. I got one cheap at Ross because it's not like I need high-quality gel-filled whatever to hug at night.
Also try to make sure you aren't tucking your chin - as I fall asleep I try to put one hand up just on the very end of my chin to make sure I'm not curling up too much.
When I get up in the morning I'll also do a big wide stretch to open my chest again - sometimes my sternum even pops and it feels glorious.
ughhh.. I had a rough night. I got coughing so hard last night that I threw up. In the kitchen sink too so now I gotta clean that. I didn't finally fall asleep until sometime after 4:30am.
On the plus my humidifier was just delivered and I'm so excited!!!! I'm hope it helps.
I found out that our pediatrician is officially retiring on June 30th, my due date. Now this baby HAS to come early so that he can be there to meet new baby. Our pediatrician has always been awesome. His colleagues, not so much. I don't want to find a new pediatrician ?!
I'm going to eat all of the bacon. I don't care what anyone says.
Now I need the bacon. I had eggs, potatoes, and sausage for breakfast and a cupcake and a bowl of extra buttery popcorn for second breakfast. Now just have to decide about elevenses... Second trimester has turned me into a hobbit.
Also, I have a two hour drive home today during nap time. Might have to change my plans to accommodate a nap. And it's gonna be in the high 70s today! I need to buy maternity pants.

One of my cats new favorite place to snuggle is my belly. Maybe it's warmer? I don't want to be crazy and assume she knows that there is a baby in there.

There is nothing interesting going on in my world today. Although I am having a pizza buffet for lunch, and I am planning on eating all the pasta I can get my hands on.
I'm really wanting some pizza, fried pickles, ice cream, chips and dip, a big huge cherry dr pepper. I'm trying really hard to eat better though. All these posts about food lately have me going crazy.
I'm going to freaking pee my pants because I'm so excited! We got back our Harmony test results and were 1 in 10,000 for downs. I'm having them write down the sex and put it in an envelope so DH can pick it up after work!!!! I can't wait to know if it's a boy or girl! We are also headed to BRU to do our registry so it'll be extra awesome that we know what LO is. Eeeeeek!!!

I swear our child's first word is going to be "purr, purr, purr" since that's all they hear lately. I guess it's fitting that I call this our "human kitten".

My randoms: I'm finally off work today. I have to go to bank, cash checks, pay bills, get SO some body soap so he will stop using mine, and get kitty litter. Fun day for me. Also, according to my OB..I'm going to kill my baby because of my pets. I have 2 dogs, a cat, beta fish, a lizard, and snake. Apparently all animals carry toxoplasmosis. I have to wash my hands if I even pick up my dogs toy. I think this is crap. Just sayin.

My OB also freaked when I told her I had two cats. I reassured her multiple times that they are indoor and I don't change the litter box and haven't since we've had them.
My grandmother loves cats more than I do (crazy, I know) and last time I talked to her she kept saying, "and don't believe them when they say cats steal the breath from babies and are bad to have around! They don't know nothing. I had 5 when I had my children." I was like, "Grandma, I'm not getting rid of my cats, I promise."

I finally got in to see the doctor to follow up on my ER visit from Sunday. I saw one of the male doctors at the practice who I hadn't met yet- he was very nice and reassuring. He said they could do an ultrasound if I really wanted, but we probably wouldn't be able to tell anything. Apparently when a cyst ruptures they can often see evidence of that as a bunch of fluid, but when you're pregnant your uterus is in the way and you can't really see anything. He said the only reason they would have done one at the ER would be to check and see if I had cysts in the first place, but since we already knew I did there was no need. He said there's really nothing else this pain could be (other than appendicitis, which we already ruled out), and that it definitely has nothing to do with the baby or pregnancy (other than the fact that pregnancy makes it more painful since everything is all squished up in there now.) And apparently the minor pain I've been feeling on my right side for the whole pregnancy is probably from the cyst too, not round ligament pain like I'd thought.
So I'm glad I went and I feel better about it now. Even though I would have liked a more conclusive diagnosis, he had more information and was more attentive about the whole thing so it was worth following up.

Are you singing Sheldon Cooper's "Soft Kitty" lullaby to your human kitten? Because I'm totally singing it to mine...

Morning ladies! Had my 18 week appointment today, and my OB picked up the heartbeat right away! I'm on cloud 9 right now. I need to do laundry before I work tomorrow, and I plan on indulging in some In n Out for lunch. Maybe a Target run too, because why not?
