Sorry springbeduk I wish you could have an uneventful pregnancy. Hang in there. I know my geneticist told me that my age factored into the % and ratio, in my case because I'm not yet 30, it decreased. I am sure hat it has to have an effect for you as well. I hope you get answers soon. Feel free to vent and get it all out. Hug that little girl of yours and do something nice for yourself in the meantime.
So, my suspicion that delayed news meant bad news was confirmed. Panorama screening showed elevated risk for trisomy 13. Which supposedly means about a 34 % chance baby actually has it. So not for sure, but still - awfully high chance. Waiting to hear back for an appointment with MFM for ultrasound, genetic counselor, and MFM. And then pretty surely will have to have amniocentesis once I'm far enough along for them to do it, since there isn't any other way to know for sure.
Anyone have experience having amnio?
In the meantime, exhausted from trip, trying to not freak out and just get done what has to be done. And hugging dd a little tighter. At least we have her, no matter what happens.
Please don't get really concerned yet. I know that is of course easier said than done.
I had the exact risk only mine was higher. I specifically asked if they make the rates higher because of age and was told no. I had an amnio and got the results in about 4 days. Peyton is clearly fine and then when I asked why they see something in your blood that isn't there, then they said that yes automatically if older then you will get a much higher risk. It doesn't always mean they actually saw anything.
Also, have you had an ultrasound to look at measurements? Forget what that one is called. Pm me if you want to vent or anything. Good luck and I hate the wait for you.
Thank you; ygpm. Except I just saw one of the questions I asked you you already answered - sorry (results in about 4 days)

Thank you all for the support and thoughts. Next step is u/s Friday morning. Amnio at very end of march unless something happens before then making it unnecessary. Turns out ppv is 38% not 34% but still 62% is some hope to hold onto, so will try, especially if u/s doesn't show anything alarming.
springbeduk, so so sorry. I cannot imagine how you must feel not having gone through it however this is the next stage of fear for me as did with DS. I am hoping the pre screen is a mistake which does and can happen and remember reading an article on it. Will look and link. Found it! Link I refused CVS or Amnio with DS although it was strongly suggested but between NT scans, nothing alarming showed up. It took us everything to get him and I wasn't going to risk miscarriage - although I think it's like 1%? not certain but regardless I wasnt going to have it. Hug your little girl extra tight and all of us here are thinking and praying for you and baby. We're about the same age pm me if you want to talk about stuff. Hugs
Insurance won't pay for mh to get tested (they only care about the pregnant lady) and said it would be between $ 300- $1000 out of pocket. We aren't doing that.
The CDC just recommends using condoms for the rest of the pregnancy.

I must have missed this. Are you at risk of Zika because of where you live? I'm glad it was negative!

Tell me more about this. Is this for a reason? ETA: of course I'm glad it's negative too !
MH and I went on an all expenses paid trip to Mexico in Feb for his work. So since it's an active transmission area for Zika we had to talk to our OB when we got back about getting tested.
I used two full cans of deet bug spray in the 4days we were there (the bug spray recommended by the CDC) and neither of us got any bites.
When we got back the CDC only wanted me to get tested and in regards to mh told us to use condoms for the rest of the pregnancy to avoid possible transmission in case he was infected. We preferred him get tested too for peace of mind, but once they told us it would be out of pocket (up to $1000) for him bc he's not pregnant we decided not to.
It was a fun trip but also very stressful bc of the associated risk, but just super relieved no bites and a negative test for me.
Susan0utLoud and Doll15 he was a top insurance seller nationally (free New Orleans conference in October) and in the state (free trip to Mexico in feb.) I guess I should say he earned it, but they say "won" to make it sound more luxurious.
The not so luxurious part is MH working oot 4-6 weeks at a time.
And yes activebaby it's a good reason not to have to, but when I want to it makes it not so exciting.

Guise, the heartburn is absolute hell this pregnancy. I had really bad heartburn with DS, but I don't think it was this early. And I was able to control it with Zantac then switched to Pepcid. FWIW, DS was born with a full head of hair and never lost it. This kid is going to be a... whatever a really hairy animal is. I basically take three bites of ANYTHING or a sip of ANYTHING and feel extremely full and the reflux starts right away. I was finally past the morning sickness, and now I'm puking because of heartburn. Zantac isn't working. I'm popping Tums and drinking milk like it's my favorite thing in the world.
Anyone have any unusual tips? I can't go 18 more weeks like this.

I had awful reflux the second time around but Zantac worked for me. What dose are you taking? Maybe you need to up it?
