Can you just drive him to the doctor and sit out in the car with baby while he goes into his doctor (if SIL can't watch baby)?
I'll probably do that. I don't like asking my sister to babysit because she already has two kids (two and one years old) and she's extremely pregnant, due in a month.

I want to hug and possibly kiss the NoseFrida people. J was so restless, this is the 3rd time we've gotten up, and he kept clawing at his face. He didn't sound stuffy, but I gave it a try. Finally relief! Oh, and if anyone has a face scratcher like I do, if you spread a thin layer of Aquaphor over his/her face, the nails don't dig in they just slide across without too much damage. Sometimes his mitts fall off, or I need to wash the gazillion pair we have.
Just got E settled to sleep. I think she was awake for the 4 hours my mom had her while we went to the hockey game. So I'm thinking she was overtired since she was kicking her legs around and breathing fast. FX she stays asleep bc I have to work tomorrow and need to clean before.
W just had 5.5 hours between feeds which means he and I got 5 hours in a row!!!! I haven't had more than three in almost 8 weeks so I'm pretty ecstatic right now. This will probably be a long feed though because NT breasts are rock hard. Guys I'm so excited (about the sleep not the granite boobs)!!!n

I'm letting my baby sleep bare bottomed on his belly tonight to give the rash-that-always-came-back a chance to air out. I feel so bad for my baby because he's basically had a constant rash for over two months now. It went away a few days ago but now it's back and worse that ever. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I always change his diaper the minute he makes a mess, I make sure his butt is dry before putting on a new one, I give it plenty of air time, I don't know. I just hate the way he screams in pain because of it. ):

Have you tried different diaper brands? Maybe he's allergic to something in the diaper. Also, I think it was you, that doctor you went to yesterday sucks balls.

I was about to suggest that! Maybe Honest? Or even give cloth a try! I know you've done everything but I can't remember if you have tried coconut oil? The shit is magic at times.

we've tried lots of different brands of diapers. If it doesn't go away with the butt paste I just bought them we might try either 7th generation out cloth diapering.
layloo08, I just bought some coconut oil yesterday and we're going to give it a try. I'm a little nervous to use it on him though because I'm very allergic to coconut and we don't know if he is too or not.

gingerygirl, have you switched out wipes?? my friend's son was allergic to lots of different wipes. their ped eventually had her just rinse him off and pat him dry at every change. PITA, but worked like a charm.

we don't use wipes, his doctor recommended we do the rinse and pat dry

If it's a yeast rash, be careful with cloth. You'd have to strip them by boiling to get the yeast out.
If it's not yeast, I can't speak highly enough of cloth. No rashes. Ever.
Just got E to sleep. I don't understand how babies go from smiling to screaming to sleeping within 10 mins.
I'm also on the verge of kitty homicide. My 3 knocked over trash can, shredded the bag, and ate a chicken bone. Then they broke into E's room (door won't stay latched) and one vomited aforementioned chicken bone all over her playmat. Ugh.
Sleeping tonight without my nursing bra or breast pads because the underside of my boobs were itchy at bedtime. Almost 5 hours after her last feed and woke up to the left side of my shirt soaked and as she is feeding the right is leaking. Blech.
It's Missouri days weekend. There is a huge parade of area high school bands and a bunch of vendors set up for the weekend. They have all kinds of competitions to go watch. Small town excitement. I am taking my kids.

So MIL was talking to her mom the other day and apparently her mom is pissed that we haven't brought A by to see her. Now, Mil's mom has not even bothered yet to call us. Since May. She hasn't called DH for literally years...it's been around 10 years. Anyway, she lives in an assisted living place (germ heaven, no thanks) and we found out yesterday that all the nasty sores she's covered with are STAPH INFECTIONS. At first, it was just "because of my diabetes" (she doesn't actually have diabetes) and then it was "because I don't move much" and the real story is that she doesn't take care of herself (proper bathing, bathroom hygiene, etc), so however she got them, they got infected, she won't take meds/cream/whatever for them (no idea why) and now they are staph. Wtf.

1. That's annoying. I hate when family thinks you are the sole person to iniate visits/contact. DH's family is like that and it pisses me off. If you want pictures, text me or DH. I'm not just sitting around doing nothing thinking "Hmm with all this free time I have, how about I don't send pictures to everyone."
2. How can an assisted living place have such lack of attention to hygiene? That sounds awful!
Your family and their inability to comprehend "immunocompromised" blows my mind.
We have out of town relatives visiting and they got here last night around the time when Ava normally goes down for the night. They asked how long she sleeps and I totally jinxed it by saying she sttn about nine hours. Nope. She did five hours and because I didn't go to bed until almost midnight due to visiting w the fam, I'm on only three and a half. I think we messed her up by messing with her bedtime routine. And this is just the first round of three groups of guests we are having in October. I'm excited for my friends and family to visit....but sleep.

Ugh.. When I went home this past weekend N didn't do his normal 5 hour first stretch.
I say stick to your routine. The guests will understand. Mama needs sleep!!
Random, but. My first cousin was born/raised in Raleigh and her first child's name is Ava. They moved to Texas 4 years ago and we've only seen them twice since then..

Why anyone would leave Raleigh and move to Texas is beyond my comprehension haha
