Ugh, I just went to the bathroom and was spotting a tiny bit. I just saw the baby 2 days ago and they were looking great, so hopefully it's nothing. I might avoid bothering the dr unless I see it again. It was such a small amount, but still terrible for PgAL brain.
Yes, it's only iron. It's called slow release FE iron. Only downside is that it makes you constipated, so I took it every other day.
Yeah, this is the side effect I'm afraid of... It's already been a huge problem for me this pregnancy... I'd really rather not be totally colace-dependent, but I also don't want to be anemic. Tough balance.
I had to stop taking the iron pill cause of that very reason maybe the every other day approach will work for you?

Yeah, I do feel like every few days helped....I just couldn't live with the constipation. However, they did say to take colace with it.

And frecklesnbrains... Are you guys taking a probiotic? My prenatals and pregnancy made me so constipated last time, but this time has been way better (with the same prenatals). I credit the probiotic.
Ooh, I had totally blocked this out, but I had to go on iron supps late in my pregnancy with G and let's just say that it made the first trip to the bathroom post-delivery a lot worse than I think it would have been otherwise. I very highly recommend the colace.
frecklesnbrains, I am currently taking many daily vitamins/medications due to this pregnancy. I'm taking my Nature Made Prenatal Multi w/DHA, but it's a horse pill, which you've already stated you don't want. The prenatal has iron, but not enough for me, so my OB has put me on iron pills (ferrous sulfate) 325MG tablets. You can buy them and take them with your current prenatal like txmommy14 suggested. I have to take the iron pills twice a day (anemia), but you might only need 1 a day.
The iron constipates and so do pregnancy hormones, so I also take 1 stool softener soft gel in the a.m. and 1 soft gel in the p.m.
On top of all of this, I take Zantac twice a day for the indigestion/heartburn. It's been a miracle and I haven't had indigestion in over a week.
My OB placed me on this regimen, but I feel like a geriatric patient and I'm seriously considering buying one of those Monday-Friday pill containers.
txmommy14, try to stay positive. I hope the spotting stops. When I was spotting during week 8, I just kept reminding myself that spotting was normal and it happens to a lot of people who later give birth to healthy babies.

Ugh, that's the worst. I was going through that this week. Thinking of you.
Thanks guys, it hasn't come back so I haven't called the doc. Hoping it was a one time thing. I just saw the baby two days ago and they were looking great. Trying to remember that.

I totally bought one of those M-F containers this year! I don't use it right now but my DH and I both were for a while! No shame, haha!
I've also thrown up three times today. I hit second tri next week, really hoping this goes away. I'm realizing how lucky I was to have almost no sickness with my DS! ill be surprised if there's a boy in there.
Hi guys! I skimmed through but have been so busy with party prep and the actually birthday party today! My son had so much fun and got quite a bit of books and puzzles! (Which is what I suggested) so I'm very excited they listened. I plan to take out some toys slowly over the next few weeks/months and rotate things out so everything is fresh and fun.
I got my Doppler out today and found the heartbeat! It took some time to find the bugger (of course- I'm 8 + 2) but I found it! And now that little man's bday passed, we will be announcing this week! We planned on him wearing a shirt on thanksgiving for one family to see, but we plan on telling my parents Tuesday or Wednesday- we are closest with them so want them to find out first

Hahahaha thank you! I thought that too, but we actually didn't have sex this weekend because the specialist at the NT scan said to be careful and abstain when possible because my placenta is very close to my cervix. Now that I google that, I wonder if that's what it is. I emailed my OB to tell her.
When does second trimester officially start? I keep seeing conflicting info
Technically like....13 weeks and some days I think...40/3=13.333forever. Most people I think consider 13 weeks as second Tri. The bump app told me I was in second trimester this morning, anyway.
