The inlaws are here. They've been ooohing and aaaahing over DS for the past 3 hrs. They just take turns passing him back and forth the entire time. MIL also brought a fresh batch of snicker doodle cookies as "payment" for getting to come see the baby lol. I actually enjoy when they come, it frees me up to get stuff done. I've done 3 loads of laundry and I was able to paint my nails.
Got some dishes done and a little laundry. Dh is going to drive me to target which has a Starbucks in it! So excited.
I'm still waiting on yesterday's lab results. The doctor has them but no one that answers the phone knows how to read them. I'm sure they're okay because if they were bad they would've called right away but I still want to know the numbers!
Dishes and laundry? Over achiever! Lol DH would have a heart attack if I did the dishes.
I hope the lab results come back fine. How's you LO doing at home?
He's doing awesome! Eating and sleeping so much better then when he was in nicu. Dh actually took both los and let me catch up on sleep so everyone is doing pretty good
Im confused about pumping and bottle feeding. I feel like the more bf websites I read the more they discourage giving bottles. Im fine EBF cuz Im at SAHM but I need baby to take a bottle on occasion in the future. When is too late to introduce one? Do I have to pump every day to build a stash? Or can I just pump 1-2x a week?
I'm confused about when I need to pump too. So far DS has had 2or3 bottles. He'll be 5 weeks on Thursday. I'm a SAHM too so I don't really need that big of a stash, just enough for a date night every now and then. So I don't really want to pump every day but I don't know how that would effect my supply.

With DD, I pumped once every morning. It built me a nice little stash for date night or when I just didn't feel like feeding. I didn't start this until she was a couple months old. I'm also a SAHM. Right now, I just pump when I get the chance.
However, if you only want to pump a couple times a week, I think that's fine. You could do that and if you feel like you need more, add another session in. I also got I where I could pump on one side and feed on the other so it was fairly easy.

That's awesome! You have a great hubby. Glad y'all are doing well.

Everything I have read says to introduce a bottle between 3-6 weeks to avoid refusal of the bottle. I can tell you that the more websites you read the more biased information you are going to find and feeding your child is one of those topics with strong opinions. I am not surprised you find a lot of sites that flat out discourage feeding a bottle ever. DD gets one bottle a day at approximately midnight so I can get some uninterrupted sleep and I have no guilt, even as a SAHM.
I'm currently being used as a paci... I know this is what's making my nipples sore but my left boob has suddenly become a dud and doesn't produce as much as the right so maybe letting him suckle will wake it back up?
It seems to be helping my lazy boob to do that. It's still lazy, but getting better.

I haven't experienced nipple confusion with my kid and he's happy to take the bottle from me, which are both given as reasons given for delaying introducing a bottle. He's lazy at nursing (plus the lip tie probably isn't helping), so we introduced the bottle at 6 days to preserve everyone's health and sanity. If everything else is good, 3-6 weeks is a good time frame to introduce the bottle and have someone else give it if your LO refuses to take it from you. A friend of mine waited until after 6 weeks to introduce the bottle and her baby hates all bottles, so she's effectively tied to the baby all the time.
If you've got a good supply, I don't think you need to pump every day to build a small stash for going out. I've been following the recommendation to pump 30 minutes after nursing to build supply and a possible stash; I use it as back-up milk before formula, but hopefully you'll get a going out stash.

Left boob was doing so good then all of a sudden it turned into a dud. Question though how lazy is your lazy boob compared to the other? Last I pumped I only got less than half an ounce from dud boob and right boob only spit out a little over an ounce. Before they were producing about the same.
Oh and I almost forgot to announce that when DS was weighed on Monday he's officially back up to birth weight!! FINALLY! The LC at wic said we're latching great so it seems like our issues have dissipated. I'm so relieved
My lazy boob produces about 1/3 to 1/2 what the other produces.
I think this is normal. With my first, when I was back at work several months in, I would get 2 oz on my left and 6 on the right when pumping. An LC told me this time to always offer the lazy one first to help balance them but that having a dominate side is the norm.

That's good to know. DS went through a period where he was rejecting lazy boob unless we were side-lying, but he's starting to be ok with it now in cradle hold.
I have no idea how people wrangle their babies in football hold. DS will not tolerate it.
You feel my pain! He is 4 weeks tomorrow. We got the one we have in 2011. So frustrating! My mom took everything to the laundromat Monday so at least we have stuff to wear.

Ugh. That sucks. I hope you can find something soon.
