surfmama106 I remember the first time that happened with L. I had a massive over supply so it happened all the time. The first time though I died laughing!!
I'm loosing it. I can't even put it in to words anymore. P is sleeping in the swing. She had a bath and is fed. It took everything in me to get that done. I'm praying she sleeps till midnight so I can sleep.
And f you breast pump. I'm tired of bring attached all the time.

I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. I honestly can't imagine how hard it must be caring for two little ones, the rest of your family, and working. Do you have a goal in mind as to how long you want to pump for? EP'ing is so, so hard.
Honestly I haven't thought about it. As long as I can I guess. At least 6 months? Who knows.
I slept a little. Then he woke up. I want to sleep more but now he seems wide awake. I feel like I he more patience for this the first time around, now I'm so exhausted I'm like "can you sleep train a 3 week old?" I know the answer is no, but I will have literally no problem doing that as soon as possible.
I'm awake! I think all my sanity goes out the window at 3 am. DD nursed right boob, left boob, then fell asleep. Put her down and she cries so we are back on righty. So tired.

I'm the "horrible mother" according to some on TD (and probably over here) that starts "sleep training" at 3 weeks. It works for our family. No CIO, but starting to push how long baby fusses before going in and trying other soothing methods before nursing to space it out. (I'm also the mom who can't figure out potty training and has a 3 1/2 year old who still poops in his pants).

I'm that mom too. I like what the French call it...the Pause. Just waiting a minute before you go to them. We did it in our house from day one. He didn't sttn until late but he didn't wake constantly either so we all still got sleep.

You have that toddler this time around. And are recovering from a c section. I think that gives you ALL the reasons to not have the same patience!
We have friends that have a 6 month old. They done let her cry, or even wimper. She's a stay at home mom and her entire existence is wrapped up in her DD a she doesn't allow her husband to do much, but then bitches about him not doing anything. I've tried to gently suggest they at least pause before rushing to her, but "that's not what they do". Their DD wakes up 7 times a night and everyone is exausted. I feel like for self peservatuon they need do something different, but what do I know, I was a heathen parent that did CIO.
Cy slept from 9-6:30 today!!! Actually I woke him up at 6:30 because I was so engorged. I hope this means he's feeling better and this is the new normal!!

Can someone tell me why nursing/breastfeeding shirts are so awful?
Usually I just destroy my shirts by pulling them up or stretching out the neck to nurse. Nursing shirts really are usually so bad, and/or really overpriced.

Yes! Destroyer on clothes and bras over here too. Just pull up, bend, anything to make it work.
I've been just pulling my shirts up but in public that will leave my belly exposed. I guess I need to layer? I bought a nursing tank from target and it's terrible I'm just going to return it.

I wear the target ones, but when you wear them under something they are really bunchy at the bottom. I did buy one decent sweater type shirt and one tshirt from motherhood to wear when i know i'll be out. Im not nursing anymore, so now i just wear them if i know i need to pump in the car.

I swear I have been on the hunt for some sort of nursing sweater but no luck yet. Basically everyday I wear a rant top and yoga pants. It's cold so I'll have a zippy in the playroom in case I need it, but I just turn the heat higher. I hate the zipper on the hoodie and I feel like I'm going to mame the baby if I keep it on while I'm holding/nursing him. I do have one cardigan that I got as a Christmas present that is pretty nice. I'll have to see if I can find it online by looking at the tags etc.
If I'm going out I just wear a maternity sweater with a tank under and hope I don't have to nurse, and if I do I pull the sweater up and tank down.

In other news, I'm on attempt #1 for trying to get M to bed.
I brought him up at 10, diaper change, pjs, A+A swaddle tight, nursed for 15 min, he passed out, I rocked him for a while and then put him down, no more then 5 minutes and he's fussing/crying. So I rocked him, tried nursing him again and he didn't want it, rocked some more, tried a binki (didn't want it) rocked again. Finally put him down, adjusted swaddle, waited 10 minutes, he started fussing, I tried keeping him in bed and just giving the binki, he settled down for a few minutes and then started fussing again, so I picked him up and did some BIG swinging type rocks, that settled him, I continued to rock him in the glider, finally put hm down on crib again, made swaddle extra tight, started playing on my phone, about 5 minutes later he started fussing and crying. I just say and let him grunt it out for a little bit and it turned into soft cries. Then as I was about to get up and rock again he just stopped. I stayed in the room another 10 min but he is still down. So we will see. FX.

35ish hours and only an hour of sleep. He's 24 hours old and is cluster feeding.....and his latch sucks. My nipples are in so much pain but on the bright side I had a crap ton of colostrum today compared to the barely anything I was able to give Amelia. I'm hopeful bf'ing works out this time.

I hope you can get some rest today, but yay for colostrum!

soon2bmrsn, @iheartmyshiba, Cdnfroggy, thanks! His latch is deemed ok and I have met with LCs here at the hospital. The one from yesterday was spectacular. I think I will be renting one of their pumps and see how/if my milk comes in this time. The $30ish rental for 2 weeks vs 200 for a new one is much more feasible in case I have the same problem this time around.
Also, after birth cramps when bf'ing/or pumping are awful. I knew to expect it but holy crap, I wasn't expecting this. Legit feels like early ctx pain. They're sending me home w/hydrocodone script in case I need it but I'll probably just stick to my Tylenol especially since it should ease up soon (according to the nurse).

Definitely keep them in the loop with that cramping pain!! Not to freak you out, but it got horribly bad for me because I started backing off the pain meds after 8 weeks or so. It really felt like labor pains all over again and I had to fight to get back on top of the pain with medication. Not fun at all. Apparently very intense pain is "normal" for quite some time after baby #2, unfortunately. So just stay aware of how your body is handling things!

Oh, yes, those cramps! I always forget about those! They were a bitch after #2 but not so bad (odd?) after #3. Stay on top of your meds!!!
