We drove up to Mass today for lunch with my parents and then to a painting party for my friend's 4 year old (who is not engaged, as far as I know). A bunch of friends were there and it reminded me how tough it would be to be more than an hour and a half away.
And tomorrow's storm is sounding bad so who knows if I'll make it to AZ on Monday.
In other news, my 4 year old announced her engagement at dinner the other night. Then today she asked me if I can babysit her babies for a week even over night because her man said he is taking her to the beach in Mexico.
She also asked what do you do if you get a baby in your belly and you didn't want it there and if I can drive her around when she's a mommy if she fails the driving test.

The teenage years look to be awesome.
How did you respond? That's priceless.
DH told her the boy needed to ask him before he could marry her and he didn't. She assured him not to worry because they won't get married until "after I am a mommy."
Regarding the baby in the belly I told her you either decide to want it or I briefly explained adoption. Although I'm pro choice I couldn't explain that in 4 year old terms.
The driving I assured her she could take the test again.
Of course I told her I will watch the kids for her trip to Mexico.
Hi ladies Tim and I are headed to drop Layla off with my sister, and then we are having a date night! He wants dinner and a movie, I want drinks. We may do all three!
weasleymom We had some tomatoes and mushrooms that needed to be used up so I blanched the tomatoes, took the skins off, chopped them up and threw them into the crock pot. I used an Immersion blender on half the tomatoes (though you could use a blender or food processor). Then in went the mushrooms, wine, onion, garlic, bay leaf, basil, and a little Rosemary. I also had tomato paste on hand but you could thicken it at the end with corn starch instead
We are going to have some killer spaghetti for dinner.
ETA: I just added a little balsamic vinegar to it. OMG. I will do this always.
Since I'm just seeing this, I can't make it tonight, but that's what's for dinner tomorrow night!! We're just doing burgers tonight. Quick and easy. I just got done photographing the races and I am FROZEN. Like, I'm not sure if I even have a butt because I was sitting in the snowbank. I shot some pretty cool photos, so it was worth it. I just want to snuggle under the blankets. I figure it will take me five minutes to patty up the burger and throw them in the pan.
Silas has been having a really hard time with baths all of a sudden. He use to adore them. Now it's a nightmare.
Tonight DH asked me to come with him. He had the bath water ready and yelled "I'm going in!", stripped to his skivvies and jumped in the bath tub. I was laughing uproariously so obviously Si came running in. It didn't take long before he was asking DH to hold him and I cleaned the kitchen listening to the splash of water and lots of giggles.
Awe! That just gave me all the feels what a great dad

kim22 your daughter is funny! How old is the man she's engaged to?
@mothereffer what a good daddy!
He is a preschool classmate of hers and the younger brother of DS1's best friend. I guess the family is on board with the wedding because they came over for a play date last week and his mom brought me wine, chocolates, and a plant!

Dude, I keep asking if the kids are vaccinated and he won't answer.
ETA: They stayed at my house in October, all 8 of them. It never questioned if they were vaccinated. I just assumed they were considering her mother (my aunt) is very pro vaccines .
DH really wants to buy a Jeep. Anyone know if car seats fit in a Wrang!er?
We have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. With her infant seat we had it in the middle and could not recline either front seat very much. When I switched to a convertible seat I bought one that didn't fit, I don't remember which one it was, just that it was a Graco I think. So I took to google because I figured someone else has surely had this problem. The consensus on the Jeep forum I found was that The Britax Marathon fit the best so that's what we got. We have it behind the passenger seat and the passenger seat does have to be positioned a bit closer to the dash than I like but I figure it's just temporary. Eventually she will forward face (when she's like 7? Lol) and we can scoot the seat back a bit.
One more thing about the Jeep that I dislike is that the temperature in the backseat isn't regulated well. So it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. So usually so S is nice and warm back there I am burning up in the front. But in general I love the Jeep!
All this big car talk has reminded me of just how many Hummers that have come out of the woodwork now that gas is cheap again. Where were they all hiding?
