Update. The ob called and said that my hcg was 29,000. Which seems low to me but she said it was great. She said everything looks great for the gestational age of 5.5 weeks. I can't possibly figure this out. They want me to wait until next Monday to have a repeat scan. The doctor doing it is a twat-waffle.
I called another ob for a second opinion but they can't fit me in until next week. (New years and holidays)
Do you think it's worth getting an order for one at a hospital with an actual ultrasound tech before next week?

Tomorrow is Tuesday most offices will be closing early on Thursday and closed Friday. The end of the year is already busy as people are using up their benefits. They might not be able to fit you in earlier than Monday.

Honestly, no.
Your betas are high and won't be doubling in that 48 hour range anymore. What counts now is growth on an ultrasound and I'd give it a full week between ultrasounds so growth is obvious or not. The last thing you want now is more ambiguity.

I think at this point your best bet is to wait a week for a repeat u/s. Even if you had a hospital u/s, I doubt they would tell you much and just send the results to your doc. A week is kind of standard for repeat u/s. I know the waiting is hard. ((Hugs))

Based on my past experience, while the waiting is hard it's necessary. The most recent guidelines on early ultrasounds give really strict limits on the amount of time that has to happen between ultrasounds to determine growth.
I know what you are going through is really, really hard. ((Hugs)). Can you think of things that will keep you focused on anything else for the next week?

Yep. On it. Making lists of chores to do every day to keep my mind on track. Trying to be more mindful in hanging out with my daughter and less in my own head. Great advice. Thanks.
Thank you all for the support. It means a ton. It's a waiting game. Attempting to stay positive. I've decided not to go for a repeat hcg at this point, there is nothing anyone can do for me. And I'd rather not know if I'm a ticking bomb until the ultrasound. Keep growing sweet baby!

so many hugs thepax89 . Good that you're keeping busy. I hope everything turns out just fine. Keeping you in my thoughts! Will check in next week to see how you are doing.
Even if the dates aren't matching up quite logically, pregnancy is weird and almost anything is possible. Your baby could be a late implanter and a slow grower, which would account for you seeming less far along than you are. Doesn't mean it's not a perfect, viable baby though
With DS1 they didn't get good measurement at my first u/s (at 6w1d ) and screwed around with my due date. Then they were freaking out that he was going to be too big and wanted to force me into an induction. Yeah, they were so freaking wrong. He was 6lbs at birth. 6 lbs.
