It's slow here and I like name threads. Whatcha got?
I'm religious, so all of my names will have religious significance. They'll also not be English. H and I both have foreign language names, and I inherited a very long ethnic last name from h.
Anywho
For girls I'm liking:
Hanna Jasmine Hanna is the name for Anne in the Quran. I like Jasmine because DD1 has a flower mn (Rose)
Noor (pronounced just like nor,but with a rolled R.) This was my first choice for K, but h wasn't a fan. It means light in Arabic. No clue about a mn.
Sunnah: I'm only kinda into this name.
My guilty pleasure that I'd never really use because the kid will one day be an adult: Lulu I just love this name. It means pearl. I think it's adorable.
Boy names are harder. My h is from Africa, and has a very specific name from his language in mind. I'm not really sold, so I'll just name my picks.
Mikhail (mee-kai-ill) Which is Michael. I just love the name
Naim (nai-eem) It means happiness and I love it.
Samuel Lol I guess this is my "normal" name.
Zechariah: I've always loved it. Our ln is too long though.

The more I think about names, the less I want to be Team Green because MH and I have completely different styles of name tastes. At least if we could nail it down to one sex I feel like it might make it easier. OMGZ did I just jump Team Green ship?

My husband said we would discuss names when we are in labor and delivery. I am not putting it past him, because we went into the hospital with almost 20 names (still on separate lists), when I was 41 weeks pregnant with DD.
His last suggestion was Captain for a boy. So.......that pretty much shows how fun this is going to be.....
@nonniedee, Is Hanna pronounced the same way as the English Hannah? I really like Naim.
I can't use any really ethnic names from my family because a) MH doesn't like them and b) they don't quite go with the super Polish last name I've acquired. So, Domenica, Guiseppina, Constantine, and Vincenzo are all out.
For a boy, we've chosen Dominic. We're up in the air for a mn but we'll probably go with Anthony.
For a girl, it's bedlam. MH wants Clara Rose, which are just two characters from doctor who, so no. He also likes Willow. I've informed him that no child of ours will ever be described as "willowy".
I love: Constance: ever since I saw three musketeers when I was a kid. It's the name I need in my life. Catarina: I think it would work well with our last name.
I like: Vita Lenora Valentina
So obviously I'm hoping for a boy, so we don't spend the next 6 months arguing about a name. Haha

@nonniedee, Oh, that's pretty. The Doctor Who thing grates on me because I was the one who introduced the show to him. He thought it was stupid before I got him to start watching it. He honestly only likes Willow because of the character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So I heavily roll my eyes alot in my house.
Oo fun! I think we've pretty much decided on Tanner Anthony if its a boy. We both just always loved the name Tanner, and my dad's middle name is Anthony. For a girl.. we're still tossing ideas around. The name Skylar has stuck lately, but still up in the air!
I can't believe this, but I think we've decided on Hazel for a girl. Middle names are tougher. I have been dying to use Johanna, but then the initials would be HJ... So, that's not going to work.
Of course now that we have a girl name, I'm sure it will be a boy. We both like Samuel, and that's about as far as we've gotten there, boy names are so hard for me. My H has suggested Joaquin, Waylon, and Wyatt. Wyatt sounds insane with our last name, unfortunately.
I love your names @nonniedee. I like the idea of flower middle names if you have another girl. We are trying to come up with a coordinating middle name for a girl, but nothing that's obvious or theme-y. Probably something French, as H is somewhat of a Francophile.

HAHA.....we were Team Green, fought the whole pregnancy about names, walked in with those 20 names, and she was named in 10min (first name on one list, middle name not on either). My husband's cousin was Team Green, they walked in with a set boy name, and a set girl name. Their second kid, they were Team Pink, and they couldn't agree on names at all. She was two days old before she was named.
I think that it is hard no matter what team you are on, especially if you both have different tastes in names. My husband and I were never one to love the same names, so being Team Pink/Blue, would be just as hard as being Team Green.
My friend had it easy. Her husband wasn't big onto names, meanings, popularity, etc. So he had her make a list of ten names (for each kid), and then he broke it down to the top three. He pretty much just nixed anything he had a bad association with, or he had a family member that had the same name, etc. And then he told her to pick from those top three. We were pregnant at the same time, and I was extremely jealous at how easy it was for them to pick a name, while I was still trying to convince my husband that we were not naming our child Ottilia for the millionth time.....and we were a week away from my due date.

I love Hazel.
Waylon is nms. Too bad Wyatt doesn't work, it's a great name.

TheTuna15, love Dominic and LOVE Vita and Valentina. tootsie, Hazel was on my list, but we are Team Blue! Love this name!
We have been talking names for years and now that we are team blue we are having issues coming up with more names. So far Declan Joseph is the top name, followed by Jasper. Oren Micah was a front runner, but the first born needs to have Joseph as a middle name after my father so we might come back to this name for boy number 2. I've been on nameberry and all the other sites and my MIL sent us a name book, but we just don't have any other names we both like....so the search continues.

It's weird. Last time we had a mutually agreed short list for girls almost immediately and nothing for boys. Now we have a boy name and nothing for girls.
So if it's a boy, we're pretty set on Malcolm. Middle name is my mom's maiden name. Girl is so up in the air. He doesn't think our second place girl name (Georgia) is right any more. He likes Clara, Hannah, Evelyn. I think they're fine but not my future daughter's name.
Middle name for a girl is Katherine after my mom but nothing feels quite right to me for a first name.

Love Malcolm.
I think out of those 3 Clara flows best with Katherine.

I know a few Claras already. I think I'm vetoing his list.
Noor has always been one of my favorite names ever. If I thought my Polish/Czech daughter could pull it off, I'd use it in a heartbeat.

I'm a Georgia pusher. When in doubt, name the baby Georgia!
We are pretty sure we have narrowed down our boy and girl names. Of course it could always change since it's still early, but I'm pretty excited about them and I think DH is too!
Girl- Elena Irene (mn is both mine and DH's grandma's names) Boy- Bennett Joseph (mn is DH's mn, as well as FIL, BIL, and GIL's fn)
It's so fun to see how different in taste/style everyone's choices are, I think it's great!

For STM+, do you consider how sibling names sound together?
Yes. DD is Iris. I don't want any other flower names or anything that would make a theme (I like Hazel but Hazel and Iris is all "eyeballs" to me), anything ending in S, or too anything rhymey (I love Alice but it's a no). Our last name ends like "son" and I don't like boys names that end in n with it, which really limits things.
