OMG...I've been on hold with a specialty pharmacy for 38 minutes THIRTY.EIGHT! Another specialty pharamacy backed out of a contract with a pharmaceutical company, which resulted in another medication being prescribed elsewhere. It's pretty much a shit show because they were not equipped to deal with this high volume of prescriptions and are seriously slacking in getting meds out to patients.

I have an interview today for a job at a university. The job sounds like something I would enjoy and is more in line with my degree than what I do now. But there are a few cons, such as, it pays a little less than I make now, it is farther away and in the opposite direction of baby's nanny which we just recently started her at and she is doing so well there. I told myself I wouldn't stress about these things unless I actually got offered the job, but here I am stressing anyway...
Probably go nuts, and this plan would go out the window, BUT... Pay off debt, remodel my house, buy a car, go on vacation, save (a couple million?) and give the rest away or start a foundation to give it away myself
I just pumped 2.5 ounces I'm really bummed about that, especially since I have to pump again at 1 (I did nothing all morning and now I have to cover a class this afternoon).
I'm like beersandweirs, Monday is my worst pumping output day. I usually power pump Monday evenings to get back on track.
candylandycane , to be fair, my oversleeping was only till 5:28, which is when BH woke up. Although I do think I prefer that to what usually happens. Which is closer to jillywilly, he wakes up just early enough for me not to be able to go back to sleep.
I have two HUGE motions to get out this week. Due Thursday. My boss is out all week at a trial. My assistant and I had it all worked out to finish them today, have them reviewed by him tonight so we could finalize and file them tomorrow. Well, the trial just got pushed to tomorrow, so my boss is on his way in. Which means he's going to be monkeying with the motions all day, making it impossible for me to get them done.

OK but what are the pros? Why are you even interviewing? Great benefits, I am assuming (University employee here and that is a huge PRO where I work). QOWL? Unhappy at current job?
Yes, sorry, there are definitely pros, I wouldn't be interviewing if there weren't. Definitely great benefits, more in line with what I want to do, I am guessing there would be a better work atmosphere than I have now (I am a gov't contractor, so I work with a lot of people, but I don't know that they really see me as a "coworker"). Not sure what QOWL stands for, but I am unhappy at my current job.

Sorry, QOWL = Quality of Worklife
Haha, got it. Yes, I would imagine that would be better at the university, but sometimes you don't know until you get into it.
Good point about the Monday thing...I was throwing in an extra pump at night but haven't since before Christmas. That might be throwing me off.
Power pumping...that's 10 minutes on, 10 off for an hour, right? I might try that tonight. I've noticed that even when I get my normal 3 oz my right boob is barely getting a half an ounce so I was considering just power pumping on that side even.

Finally reached my breaking point. Got T's crib ready, loved on him, sang him a song, and put him in. Timer going to remind me to comfort (only) every 5 minutes. I just can't hold him every single second off my day. Fx this doesn't get ugly.

Had both kiddos asleep for nap and then they started pounding on things next door.. ugh. This is starting to get old. I'm really tempting to go next door and ask them to please refrain from working 1-3pm. It seems like without fail they start during nap time...I also have no idea what they could be possibly working on bc almost everything was redone before the new renters moved in back in Sept. So looks like I'll be napping with LO.

20 minutes on, 10 minutes off, 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off, 10 minutes on.

I've never heard of this! Sounds genius.
So how much are you all normally able to pump? The 2 days I worked last week I was really bummed with my pumping output. I could only get 4+ ounces between both boobs per pumping session. When I have been away from LO previously I was able to pump 6.5-7.5 ounces per pumping session and she seems to eat more than she used to (I think she used to do 2.5 ounces a few months back, now it's like 4). My first pumping session today though I was able to pump 7.5. But if we're feeding her 4 ounce bottles then I won't quite be able to keep up with that amount at this pace. I have a good freezer stash thankfully so I feel like I have plenty of time to figure it all out, but I have been really curious how often and how much other working moms are pumping.
This lady threw a tantrum in Ross because she couldn't try on lingerie. The manager kept explaining to her how to file a complaint and she stormed off...well okay than.
erbear, budders, belle0720 I'm not sure what all you've tried, but I got some great pumping info at a class a couple of months ago so I thought I'd pass them along. First make sure you're in the right flange size (mine was way off) - no areola in the smaller portion of the funnel. Massage before and during, hand express afterwards. Normally I'm not good at hand expressing, but I can get another 1/2-1oz doing that after I pump. Replace your valves and membranes every 3 months. I just discovered Spectra membranes fit on Medela pumps and holy suction! They're a different style totally and the LC said they hold up better as well. Tubes may need to be replaced too, but mine are still ok. Also, some of the PISAs suck now (haha - no pun intended there) so if you think your pump isn't quite working properly, you can get it checked for suction or call them to replace it. Those are my only tips I can think of for now, but I might post more later if I think of them.
So this just happened... I walked over to the kitchen at work to snack more on the kettle corn a coworker had brought in and noticed on the calendar it said "Mia Birthday" and thought "Who is Mia?" After a moment of hesitation I paged through to June and July. Cool, so I guess all of the kids' from the office have their birthdays in the calendar now? A few wedding anniversaries were in there too. Kinda cool, kinda weird?

Sorry I'm just babbling.
Okay, so pat on the back because 4oz+ in a pumping session is fantastic. 3-4oz is the gold standard.
It is definitely harder to pump at work than at home - time stressors, work stressors, not having the cue of having the baby right there, etc. Add to that the "6 month slump" where your body switches from hormonally driven production of milk to "well this is what we're used to making" and it's not surprising you're noticing a decrease.
The other good news is, she won't be increasing her bottle size, so you can at least rely on the 4oz sticking around and not jumping to 5/6/7.
Now you just have to figure out how much you want to invest in pumping. Because you can obviously say "okay, this is what I pump, so we'll just supplement the rest with formula." Anything more than that, means you will probably have to add a pumping session. Which sucks.
BH takes 16 oz at daycare (four 4oz bottles). I pump around 9, 12, 3 at work and get about 6-7oz, 3oz, 4oz during those times. So I added in a pumping session before bed every night to get those extra 2 oz I need. Depending on how much you need, will depend on how many extra sessions you need to add.

I think the recent call outs also invite anyone (catfishes included) an opportunity to take advantage of. Especially purple just registering 3 hours ago and there was a recent catfish names "yellow". Just throwing that out there.
FWIW that did cross my mind that demanda reincarnated might appear. However, I am not convinced that any of the recent intros are her. At least not yet.
dogmama22 are the spectra pieces cheaper? I have not replaced parts on my pump aside from the white membranes and they're so expensive. I'm pretty sure the flanges are correct; I've heard that tip before. I can't get anything from hand expression. Never have been able to.
And yeah, I learned that 3-3.5 ounces is my normal and thankfully that's all she takes per bottle. I wish I had always known that was healthy; early on I was surrounded by pictures of women pumping much more and I freaked out that I wasn't pumping more. I'm glad I don't stress over that now - I only get upset when it dips to the 2.5!

Touche.
I completely understand why you might be suspicious. I really have been lurking since before the exodus from TD, but it didn't cross my mind to register when I wasn't posting, and I'm only beginning to post because so many regulars have been asking people to de-lurk recently.
ETA: I suppose it will take time to prove that I'm not a catfish, and none of you owe me any time, so... I'll just try to comment when I want to, and hopefully that will gradually show that I am harmless really. (Or at least Mostly Harmless.)

Thanks for the shoutout Widget123! I haven't really been around too much since Noah was born, and when I'm on the boards I'm mostly lurking. I have to say, I'm so pleased you remember me, since I was sort of an infrequent poster throughout my pregnancy!
We are doing good - Noah's 7 months old, and is such a sweetie! I'll post a pic of him.
Well, he just woke up from his nap so I'll have to post more later.

Thank you for the advice! I'm definitely not interested in supplementing with formula so last week I did add in pumping sessions at night to make up for the ounces I wasn't getting at work. It's weird though, I used to pump every morning after her first feeding to build a stash and I'd get 3.5-4 ounces. But last week I tried pumping in the mornings and could barely get anything out, I got much more in the evening. So ideally I'd love to feed her right before I leave for work and then she'll have 3 bottles while I'm gone (which she did the days I was gone last week) and then hopefully get 7ish ounces pumping twice a day. But this morning she wouldn't eat before I left for work, so I'm pretty sure she'll have 4 bottles while I'm gone. I know it's just going to take some figuring out and it's only my third day back at work.
Guys I'm getting super sketched out by all the new intros. Putting on my tinfoil hat and sitting in a corner watching. Anyone care to join?
Oh Bubbs, don't let Duh-manda get into your head! The new people seem sane enough, its not like they joined and then immediately started creating drama
Quick someone start a peanut allergy thread in schools and see who reacts.
dogmama22 I just bought replacement flanges, valves, and tubes last week because one of my valves had a tear. I also sized up on the flanges and the new ones seem a bit more comfortable. I have an Ameda pump and bought parts made by Maymom (on Amazon) and they actually seem better quality than the ones I got with the pump too!
