My H txted me shortly before he was due to be home to let me know he will be another 2 hrs! I was waiting for him to eat dinner, to shower and had coordinated DS naps so he'd be awake when he got home! Now I've eaten fast, showered fast, and put LO down cuz he wasn't gonna make it... He will be getting a talk later
Ok, mine is about work. One of the technicians at work got on the wrong side of a debt collector and is getting 25% of her wages garnished. She has little kids at home and is stressing. So my boss emails all of the pharmacists and asks us to basically give her $300 each so she can pay the collectors and keep her wages. It irritates me that my boss would solicit charity in this manner. I would have rather her ask the entire department (not just the pharmacists) and not put a recommended amount. Basically this technician got in debt for making poor choices. I don't want to get in a situation where I have to kick in a few hundred dollars every time a coworker gets into debt. None of the others are getting an infusion of cash. I kind of think she should have to pay us back (or pay it forward).
I actually think that this is a totally unacceptable thing for your boss to ask, and I would honestly let her boss know that she asked this of her employees. As a federal employee I have to take ethics training every year and this would be a HUGE ethics violation.
If co-irker has medical debt, that means she's ignored that bill for many years. We turn over for garnishment after more than 3 years of us, a collection agency, a 2nd collection agency, and us again try to settle the debt via payment plan or hell, even financial assistance through our facility goes back that far. If it got to garnishment, she knew damn well it was coming from a long ways away. No sorries for her.
Thanks! Today was much better. I did end work and 30 minutes early because DD wouldn't take a bottle at daycare, but no big deal. I'll log on late and do 30 min of training.
