Hi A16! I haven't been on TCF in over 24 hours and I missed you all!
kaitkat, happy anniversary! remylove1011, I am also getting so overwhelmed about baby gear! misshart00, I think as long as your cervical length is adequate and you're not bleeding, cramping/contracting is harmless. If your OB is not concerned, you don't need to be either!
I have IU and have always had contractions all through my pregnancies. With the first, they worried and I had a few nights in L&D but once they decided i just have a strong/busy ute, they don't really even bat an eye anymore. As long as the contractions aren't rhythmic anyway.
+1, except my ute isn't strong (in active labor I have "ineffective" contractions, though they are 3-7 min. long). I was treated as if I had preterm labor with #1 but told to ignore it unless it got out of my norm with #2. My BH's hurt like what in third tri last time. They started being painful at 8 weeks this time. Joys.

In not really worried. Just more like, "well this is uncomfortable." I don't think my doc is worried because I have very uneventful pregnancies (no bleeding at all, etc.). With DS, I was literally in labor for three weeks with no progress. Real contractions every 3-5 minutes so with that history, she probably knows it's not a big deal for me.
And they're super irregular. I can go several days without.
Re: crib vs bed this might sound bad, but one of the best parts about the crib is that DS will happily play and talk in there for up to 45 min after a nap or in the morning. This may not last forever but I don't know if I'm willing to give it up. He does sleep on a cot at daycare though, so I'm sure he would be ok with a mattress. I'm really liking the mattress on the floor idea. Thanks for the suggestions!

I like the containment so much. It's the only reason I haven't transitioned yet. I know she'll be fine but it's nice to know she's not walking across the house in the middle of the night.

Yes the containment is everything. Our house is child - proofed - ish but not to the point where I'd trust him wondering any room by himself. I'm convinced I'd wake up to all the dog toys in the toilet and his toys in the dishwasher. Maybe I can just gate the door to his room.

Our plan is to gate the hallway. It leads to both kids' rooms and their bathroom. She's doing so well at potty training that I want her to have easy access (just not to kitchen, laundry room, etc.)

For when you do transition your kid from a crib to a bed: don't tell them they can get out. It took DD1 two months to figure out she could get out of bed on her own. I never mentioned it and told everyone else around her not to and she was just that kind of kid. My niece didn't get out of her own bed without calling for her mom until she was eight (well before that point, SIL was pretty over it).
We are seriously thinking of putting DD2 in a trundle bed until the girls are old enough for bunk beds. DD1 went straight to a twin at 2.5 - no issues until well after 3 when her poor sleep issues resurfaced.

Those toddler alarm clocks can serve the same purpose. My kid happily plays in her room until her clock goes green, then she comes and gets me. She has understood the clock since we moved her into her bed.

Which one do you have? I've been wanting to get her in the habit of this before we tradition.
We put a gate up in KJ's doorway until we were both comfortable with her getting up on her own. At the time, her bedroom door was at the top of the staircase and it terrified me that she could stumble down in the dark.

I like reading these ideas for what to do about beds. DD will be a few weeks from turning 2 when the new baby arrives. She has been a pretty bad sleeper until December when the miracle occurred and now she sleeps 12 hours in her crib. I don't want to change anything! I think it will be tough to transition her to a new bed and probably a new room so I'm debating what to do and when. I keep thinking if baby is with us in our room for a few months at least it will buy us some time to figure it all out.
Re toddler bed- we moved DD to her crib with a bed rail before Christmas and she loves it, she could get in and out the minute we moved her so that helped she only gets out of bed when she wants me and needs cuddles. (She will be 2 in March) we will transition her to a twin bed when the twins are big enough to warrant two cribs
BH right? I have been having BH on and off for a couple weeks. Feeding does cause your uterus to contract so that makes sense.
Unfortunately she said they were real contractions. It's because my body is all "didn't we just do this?!" But I'll just assume that's what's going on.
I didn't even know it was possible to have contractions this early

Well, my bump has officially popped, the RLP has started, and I'm currently in bed propped up on a snoogle plus three pillows to stay comfy. I'm just past 10 weeks and I feel like I'm in 2nd tri already!
hollyberry, kaitkat, how are my other twin moms doing? (Did I forget someone?)

Haha yea I've been showing for a few weeks now. (Second baby and then the whole twin thing lol) I feel like I look way more pregnant than I should if that makes sense?
I'm ok, sore lately which sucks can't wait until my follow up on Wednesday!! See a internal medicine doc on Tuesday that should be interesting. I asked to be sent to a MFM or perinatologist (since I saw those last pregnancy) guess ob had another idea...

How are you doing other than the pain?
Why an internal medicine doc? What were your complications last pregnancy?
Other than the general discomfort I am doing better than expected... I've been exhausted but the nausea has been SO manageable even though I keep reading it's supposed to be terrible in a multiples pregnancy.
I'm just a little worried if I am showing already I am going to be HUGE by third tri!
Hi bocaburger, and kaitkat, I a doing ok. I think I am starting to show too, I put on pants the other day and they were not very comfortable, since I am on bed rest I never really noticed the growth, ( not wearing clothes but yoga pants or Pjs) but I see it more now for sure. Seems as though all my symptoms come and go but are worse late afternoon and evening. My hips hurt from time to time. But it all is manageable. I am nervously waiting for the NT scan on the 9th, it is my next apointment and I have never gotten that far to get to it before. I qm hoping when it is over and all is well I can start believing that it is all happening and relax a bit and get more excited.

Good morning ladies! I've missed you but have been lurking. H was out of town and work has been a mess so I had zero time to post.
Coffeebaby is finally giving me a reprieve from all day morning sickness. Still sick just not constantly.
I have crazy dandruff and dryness on my face but a really oily back with face and back acne. Thanks hormones.
Also, I think I've decided to quit working after Coffeebaby is here in August.
Re: toddler bed. Sleep is our parenting Achilles heel. Both kids sleep in our room. The 3 yo sleeps in his bed in our room (toddler mattress on the floor) and is allowed to come to my bed once the clock says AM on it. The 1.5 yo sleeps in our bed at night but naps in either his crib or a toddler bed. We prefer the crib but he seems to sleep more soundly in the toddler bed.
Good morning everyone, it's SUNDAY FUNDAY!!! H and I are planning a much needed date to the movies and then he's promised to stop for milkshakes on the way home. :-)
I'm craving coffee today!!!! We are going to price out some beds for the girls and look at some more home decor. We moved into our house 4 months ago and it is far from being decorated.
