I think if you were offended by Beyonce's "Formation" video or the Super Bowl half-time show, then you need to pull your head out of your butt and open your eyes to the world we live in. I'm lookin' at you Rudy...
We have a house guest staying with us that travels with her 2 cats. She goes on road trips w them, airplanes, stays in hotels.
She is 64 yrs old, single, has no kids, cooks a mean steak and showed up at our house with 2 amazing bottles of red, a box of salted chocolate chip cookies and 3 gourmet cheeses w salami and crackers.
I absolutely LOVE her and those 2 cats. Especially if one of them can catch the rat in our house before they leave today!
@poppyc8, it's been a huge thing. There's a protest going on today outside NFL HQ. Rudy issued a horrible statement about it as well a few says ago. The internet has pretty much exploded.
Definitely unpopular with me. I wear them every day. Gotta get Hanky Pankys!
O, U: Has anyone seen that Huff Post video going around with the doughnut stuffed with a cinnamon roll? Am I the only person who thinks that video is disgusting? The way the person opens that doughnut seriously makes me want to vom, it does not look yummy. Yet everyone seems to post it saying "OMG I NEED ONE".

I hate thongs!!! Only wear them if I absolutely must.
@poppyc8 omg a rat! Noooo!!! I hope those cats catch the sh*t out of that rodent! Your home is no place for that thing! For what it's worth, I do always hear that cats do a good job of keeping rodents out, even if not catching them, but scaring them away from entering. Maybe she will let you keep one!
My only problem with the Beyonce song is that I don't really like the tune. I'm cool with the message behind it and with being proud of your heritage and I'm cool with the politically charged video. I just am not especially fond of the actual music part of it. It's "meh" at best.
I havent like a Beyonce song since Single Ladies. I dont get all the "Queen Bey" hype.

Is the UO that you wish you were a crazy old cat lady too??
No just that her lifestyle is a UO (traveling everywhere w 2 cats) but I love her and her unique lifestyle

She would die a slow tortured death before giving up one of her cats! She even pays to get them acupuncture when she thinks they are feeling 'down'. Or should I say 'catupuncture'
A Canadian councillor spoke out about Bey's extremist "anti-police" message and suggested that she should go through vigorous security checks before being allowed to enter Canada for her tour. Lolno. There isn't a flamesuit in the world that would shield him from the flaming the internet is currently bestowing on him.
+1 to don't love the song but don't get how the message is offensive.
I actually really like the beat of the song and don't really get anything offensive from the lyrics but the music video has some allusions to police violence/shootings that have been in the media the past year. I think this is what people are upset about: that she is using her platform as a high profile performer to spread a message that is going to cause more unrest, which is completely within her rights; and that as a high profile performer who is supporting this message she still wants a police escort, etc.
What do you guys wear with leggings and skinny jeans?
If I'm wearing leggings out, my underwear line is covered, so I don't worry about it. Skinny jeans provide enough bulk to cover lines on regular underwear IME.

But the message is not anti-police. She is telling stories that have actually happened in her video. She is not being a hypocrite in saying that "these things happened, please don't forget" and still wanting a police escort. That argument is ridiculous.
(I have no idea if this is your perspective or if you are just articulating what others have said, so please don't read this as a dig at you personally)
No worries either way, I have no argument, I'm mainly just paraphrasing what I've read. And no, I don't think her message is specifically anti-police. But the 'stop shooting us' graffiti does have a pretty clear message and I think it being featured as a Super Bowl performance has riled everyone up. If it would have been released as any other song half the population probably wouldn't have noticed it. That's part of what music is though is another form of speech that people have been spreading personal and political messages with since the beginning. To me it's really just the venue that has ticked people off because so many people that would never has seen it because they don't listen to her as an artist have seen it.
I get SO aggravated at the health and fitness "products" that people sell on Facebook. Like the "ItWorks" crap. My friend posted some junk today about how you can't lose weight without it, and just working out won't change your body. This is true to an extent...you can't outwork an unhealthy diet. But you don't need all those supplements and shakes and diet pills and wraps either. Ugh.
ETA: I'm not talking about vitamins and protein. Protein powders and protein shakes are a great way to up your protein intake when you're lifting weights or just need a healthy option. I'm talking about the other BS.
What do you guys wear with leggings and skinny jeans?
I wear bikini briefs with everything, if the underwear line isn't covered I really don't care, it keeps them from riding up. I've never had an issue with skinny jeans though.
Yes to thongs. I wear them everyday. No to g strings. Joolschweets - hahahahaha @ "hungry bum syndrome"
+1 to thinking Beyonce's video/song is not offensive.
ETA: +1 to hating people that sell ANYTHING on facebook. Mary Kay, Rodan and Fields, Shakeology... whatever. It annoys the crap out of me, and it will almost always warrant a de-friending, or at the very least an unfollow.
+1 on not getting started again on shit being sold on FB. My cousins' wife keeps posting all about how you should have your SO buy you rodan & fields face creams for Valentine's Day! I'd rather receive nothing than that shit, thank you!
I love Beyoncé. I know I've said that before. Her song is in no way offensive, and the only people offended are the people that wouldn't be buying her music or going to her shows anyways. The "stop shooting us" message was nowhere near the super bowl, btw - it's just in the video. Considering her and Jay-z have been posting bail for protestors in Baltimore, I don't know why anyone's surprised by it.
iowamama615, I've read a few and watched a couple but I just saw that there is a new movie and I have zero interest in anything else he's written or his movies.

Popping in late to play devils advocate along with @heart of glass. First, I like Beyoncé and have purchased her music. I also like that she is so influential that autocorrect puts the accent on her name for me. I heard about the potential scandal the media was trying to stir up before the super bowl regarding her newest release, so I watched her live performance with more interest than usual. What I perceive the true issue to be (and may take a bit of offense to) is her blatant promotion of the Black Panthers during the performance. We are in a more racially charged and divided time in the United States right now, and promoting such a violent civil rights group can potentially promote violence against law enforcement among some members of her audience. I love NWA's Fuck the Police and how it brought attention to racial discrimination in the 90's. But I think the timing of Beyonce's performance and the venue may be in poor taste during this terrifying time of gun violence plaguing American culture. There have been 4 shootings of police officers in the media coverage this week. I saw a video where a black man scolded Beyoncé with some very interesting points. Imagine if Jessica Simpson had preformed a song at the Superbowl with an anti gang violence message using images related to incidents like the murder of pregnant mother Amanda Blackburn with back up dancers in KKK costumes. The uproar would be epic. Whether it is relevant to the conversation or not, I hate to use the word epic, lived with a black male who is a very good friend for several years before I got married, and my white as a pancake brother is currently dating a wonderful woman who is black. Although those factors don't give me a get out of racist jail free card, I am sharing a viewpoint that black lives close to me agree with.
I only wear thongs if I'm wearing white pants. Other then that I'm team boy briefs
I wear lacy (hanky panky type) thongs during the day for no VPL ever. At night I change into cheeky boy shorts. If I can get away with boy shorts under some pairs of jeans or dresses I prefer to wear those.
I apologize for bringing back and beating a dead horse on the issue of direct selling crap on Facebook and other social media. I just happened to see it all up in my feed, and got added to like 3 online parties without my permission/acceptance of an invite, and I was DONE I tell you.
