My first time commenting on one of the spam threads. Good luck to the ladies having babies today, I'm so jealous! I'm 37 weeks today so LO needs to cook a bit more. I've been sick since Saturday and found out yesterday I have influenza. Evidently my flu shot didn't work this year. My abdominal muscles hurt so bad from coughing... Feels like I've been working out and lord knows I haven't been.

Good luck to all the ladies in labor and congrats!
I haven't been on much the last few days,I've just felt like crap in general, not sick, just not right. Got our carpets cleaned and had the cutest shower on Sunday. Is there a baby shower AW thread? I have to search and see. Seeing the new TOU on TB made me glad I didn't participate in HDBD or anything yet. I was just about to start and then no thanks. I wonder what they would think if everyone who posted but a huge "NOT PROPERTY OF THE BUMP" watermark on all their pics.
Well, I had a growth US today, and found out that the baby is likely still large, larger than even expected at last check, and now breech. Given my GD, it is likely they even if their estimate is off (which I think it is), she is still significantly large. MW recommended that the combo of large baby, GD, breech, and 38 weeks we should schedule a C-section. *Sigh.*
I'm not psyched on major surgery and the anesthesia and post operation painkillers -- not out of any drug-free conviction, I just don't enjoy how I feel on those drugs and I am naturally inclined to want to avoid surgery.
I also want the best outcome for baby and me of course, so I'll be having this baby next week, at 39 weeks.

I am excited too. I'm having a baby in a week!
Sorry to see things have taken an unexpected turn for you. Such a positive outlook though--good for you! Hoping (vicariously) you'll be able to eat something good sooner too when that GD goes away! :-)

Well it appears that crazy OB I saw after my repeat u/s yesterday was correct when he said he doubt I'd make it to my repeat u/s Thursday. Seems like my water broke so OB said to head to L&D now since I need a c-section with LO being breech still. Ahhhhh this is so surreal!!

Thinking about being able to eat normally soon is one thing helping me keep a positive attitude
It's definitely a situation where I feel strong pros and cons either way. I think following the recommendation of my care providers is the right move, but I am also scared in a wholly different way than I am nervous about vaginal birth. And I wonder if I'm not trying hard enough to keep vaginal birth on the table. But if successful vaginal birth is unlikely, I would rather not labor long and painfully just to have the c-section anyway.

@eliteejay so sorry things aren't happening as planned - I definitely did not want a c-section either, but here I am on my way to the hospital to get one :/ good luck though! I figure it is what it is - if this is the safest way to get LO here, than I'm ok with that

Yeah, not sure anyone really WANTS a c-section, huh? Healthy happy baby is number one. Good luck again, can't wait to hear your LO is here.
