I think it's just a normal day here. Gym, pick up, Target. I'm crampy and not due for a period anytime soon. I think it's my ovaries lurching back to life since I had fertile CM last night (TMI? I think we're close enough for that now). I would have less uncertainty if I temped, but I just don't want one more admittedly small thing to do in the morning.
Schools are delayed today but I had to take off because I have the dreaded stomach virus. DH is working from home since DS1's school isn't opening until 10 and I would have had to be at work already.
The dishwasher repair man, HVAC man and furniture delivery guys are all suppose to be coming today since DH is going to be here.
I'm getting a pedicure today with my MIL. She got here on Saturday so we've been busy. I'm excited, my toes are way overdue! Other than that, not much going on. Eventually DH and I will have our date night and go see The Hobbit.
Good luck JoeLies! Can't wait to hear all about it!! wedding I know what you mean about not being able to put in as much extra time. That's hard, I admittedly work from home much more than I'd like. Hope you get some paperwork done! @cher rip carbs. Hello 6 pack!
I'm lounging in the little guys reading nook, drinking my coffee while he plays with my foot (kicks it). I need MH to get off shift so I can go to work but they got a late call this morning. Meaning I'm going to be late for work uggghh
Good luck today, JoeLies. I'm sure you'll do great!
I have an appointment today at 10:15. I am pretty sure I know the results because it's like I have my period (but a week and two positive HPTs later). Hard to find the upside of this, but, whatever it is, we'll get through it. Thank you all for your good thoughts-- I really appreciate this community. I'll check in later.
wedding, I hope you're able to clear some time in your day for catch up work.
Guster, thinking of you. Please update us when you can and if you're up for it.
I just dropped E at daycare and am settling in to work. Things are really busy and my motivation is shot.
DH took advantage of staying home yesterday to clean out the room that will be 2.0's nursery. I've been bugging him to do it, since he currently uses it as his personal dumping ground. Now we just need to clear out the bed and existing dresser to make room for new furniture...which we still need to buy.
ljgs1010 yay for hubster cleaning out the nursery!
Hoping all the sick and tired mommas are feeling better today. Just another busy day at work. They are predicting 2inches of snow tomorrow night. Would it be weird if I took my kid sledding before daycare since it will probably melt by noon? It seems like this might be the only snow fall this year and he needs to use his sled!
You are all the best. I've already run and cleaned up, and I'm staying pretty much right across the street from the office, so I've got an hour to go over my notes and maybe grab a quick coffee. I'm excited!
You carb-free ladies are incredible. I just couldn't do it, I'm too emotional to be strong.
Good luck today, JoeLies!! wedding, I hope today isn't too stressful today and you get caught up on your own work too!
E slept like crap last night. When DH got up for work at 4, I put her in bed with me so we could get a little more sleep. She seems to be feeling a little better cold wise, but I think she's got a tooth coming in now. It never fails.
finnaroo, like you said, I think we're close enough friends now that what you said wasn't TMI, in my opinion. I'm sorry you're feeling crampy!
I have a FWP today. DH usually cleans the rabbit's cage, but since he's working 6 in a row, I have to do it. He's off again on Thursday, but it needs to be done yesterday. He's so exhausted when he gets home and eats dinner, plays with E a little, gives her a bath, takes a shower and goes to bed. I hate doing it. I just like the job of snuggling him while DH cleans the crap. I'll let E feed him a carrot today while I'm doing it. Keep them both occupied. Just for that, I told DH I'm going to pick out paint samples for E's play kitchen. I'm undecided if I want to do a retro-ish kitchen (blue, chrome and red) or a little country kitchen with a "cook stove" and fake cast iron pans. I guess that's a FWP too.

Working from home today. Yesterday was a disaster getting in and out of the office. Today I woke up to learn that last nights issues with public transit have not improved so I said eff it, I"m not doing THAT again today. It's nuts, they are bussing passengers across two cities due to power loss, dropping all passengers off at the stop where I board. The message this morning was to seek out an alternate means of transportation. The train IS the alternate means!!! Anyway....
B is adorably distracting. She is completely hooked on a new baby doll she got as a late christmas gift. She carries it around, sleeps with it. Hugs and kisses it. I even caught her trying to feed it and share her binky with it. This is why working from home is hard.
I need to convince DH it's time for me to get a new car.
I'm still driving my college car -- a 2001 civic. It only has about 50K miles on it, since I drove it off and on for years and only ever drove it locally. It's in perfect condition, so it just didn't make sense to get a new car when we moved to the burbs.
But, it SUCKS in the snow. My 15 minute ride to daycare took me 30 minutes this morning because I was too scared to go faster than 20mph on snowy roads. I really want something with AWD or 4WD.
How do I convince DH that, with all the extra expenses coming for 2.0, that it makes financial sense to take on a car note when both of our cars are currently paid off, and I only ever drive my car to daycare and the train station (which is 10 minutes away)?
I just wasted $3 on a high brew dark chocolate mocha coffee. I should have just stuck with my double shot. ugh. off to get normal coffee from the office kitchen, even though they are out of my creamer. again.
ljgs1010 DH has the exact same car and it's a two door. Is yours? If so, game. Set. Match. Two car seats, two young kids, and a two door car? No thank you.
If he just flat out refuses, can you go the safety route or propose switching cars?
