You mean you actually went to see the movie, and you were not a fan by the end?
I mean, I walked in ready to snark at the entire thing, but damn if I didn't walk away a convert. I am impressed.
I liked some of it (Xmen references & the fact that Ryan Reynolds was in it). But I can't really put my finger on it why I didn't like it as a whole.
My theater experience sucked so maybe that has something to do with it. The people behind us where chugging hard liquor and I had to smell it the whole movie. Plus DH was REALLY not a fan and was huffing and puffing the whole time. Annoying.
I mean, it really was NOT a movie to anyone who doesn't like ridiculous language, vulgar scenes, and any other ridiculously inappropriate behavior.

Yeah it was a bit much for me for those reasons. It was OK, but I felt kinda gross by the end. I definitely didn't love it.
You can cook a shitton at a time, drain off the grease, no stove splatter, put em in a forget it and go about cooking the rest of breakfast. Why would you do it any other way??
Because it makes it crispy and I'm that freak who likes bacon all squishy and fatty.

I HATE the two-party system. I wish we had REAL options.
Sorry; I don't want to make the whole UO thread about politics, but that bugs me.
I understand why the two party system exists and I understand why it's hard for a third party to really break in. But, damn. I'm a firm independent and have to believe that there are moderates from both parties out there that are willing to bring the sides together through compromise. But those people don't seem to be electable. Instead, we need extremists who degrade not only the other candidates from their own party but the entirety of the other party. It's awful to listen to and makes it difficult for me to want to give my vote to anyone. I do, of course, because what other choice do I have? But I'm so disenheartened by the whole thing.

I've made my feelz on floppy, soggy bacon quite clear in the other UO thread. Don't make me do it here, too. I just calmed down.
I was just going to say that the "ridiculous language, vulgar scenes, and any other ridiculously inappropriate behavior" explained why I liked it so much.

Regarding the Apple thing...I understand it's a slippery slope but wouldn't it fall under the Patriot Act the same as gaining access to phone records? Verizon can't say no when subpoenaed for those so I'm not sure I see the difference.
ladytiffany24, I almost feel badly for these people because they are regular people frustrated with their situations and I can't understand how and why they think that Trump, who inherited hundreds of millions of dollars, of all people can even begin to understand their needs. And he is an ass on top of it all.
mill23, I also like paying taxes. I know that there is a lot of room for improvement in the execution of the system but I fully support the concept of taxes. I also like the concept of socialism, which is really unpopular.
It's like a well done steak though- completely changes the flavor of the meat! No bueno. I like undercooked everything.
I was going to bring this up in the other UO but we had moved on.
So what if it changes the flavor of the meat? Maybe the person eating it LIKES that flavor? Sorry the snobball chefs don't like the flavor, but some people do. I guess I don't think there's a "right" way or "wrong" way to eat food. Eat it the way you like. Haters to the left.
I like the flavor of a well done steak or burger. I also like the flavor of a medium steak. I'm equal opportunity.
EDIT: This means, of course, that I would pass you all my soggy bacon when served to me. And then I'd ask for crispy bacon because - dammit - that tastes better to me!
I was just going to say that the "ridiculous language, vulgar scenes, and any other ridiculously inappropriate behavior" explained why I liked it so much.

I mean, this was a legit billboard for the movie, so I'm kind of flabbergasted that people are pearl clutching it.

I'll sit on this freak bench with you. Give me all the squishy fatty bacon!

Subpoenas for historical phone records are very different than search warrants for access directly to a phone (and the info you obtain is also different in nature - records that can be obtained from a subpoena are very limited). Verizon has the ability to give you those records, so failure to comply is contempt. Also, in this case, the search warrant isn't directed to Apple directly - it is directed to a phone already in LE custody (if I recall correctly, a SW was also directed to Apple to provide access to iCloud data, and they complied with that SW). Law enforcement here has a valid search warrant based on probable cause but lacks the technical ability to actually get the data. Apple, in its more recent iOS versions, has essentially tied its own hands as well by not creating a back door to permit anyone (including Apple) to bypass the security features on a phone. The current court order is actually ordering Apple to figure out a way to bypass certain security features (specifically, the one that wipes a phone after 10 failed password attempts) so it goes well beyond simply asking Verizon to hand over records already in their possession. As it stands now, search warrants for locked iPhones are completely unenforceable. It's kind of like having a house that has been booby-trapped to explode if someone doesn't have the security system code - you can get legal authority to search the residence, but if you try, you're going to end up destroying all the evidence.
Honestly, even prior to the new iOS features, sophisticated criminals knew ways to wipe a phone remotely after it had been seized, even if LE had placed the phone in a Faraday bag (although the Faraday bags are obviously still useful).

I'm pro all the bacon.
Sometimes I like all the chewy fat. Other times I want it nice and crispy for things like BLTs. I also like it candied and on top of chocolate cupcakes.

I do not get this. Did you not know what you were going to see?? Like, this is what it is supposed to be like. This is the point of Deadpool.
These posts are making me irrationally ragey because the movie being "a bit much" is the FUCKING POINT.

I did not know what I was going to see lol. Hadn't even seen the trailor for it-just heard lots of people talking about it. The language and whatnot didn't bother me. I just thought it was cheesy maybe? Still can't quite put my finger on it. But I will probably never go see a movie without watching a trailor/reading a blurb of what it's about.

A lesson well-learned. LOL. Don't be anxious. I'm just being a bitch.

I also didn't know too much beyond it being an R-rated superhero movie. I hadn't read about it or watched a trailer. MH wanted to see it because people were talking about it at work. He didn't like it either.
