I just bought a new jacket and some boots on kohls.com since I had a 30% off coupon to use on top of the clearance price and also free shipping. I'm excited to have a lightweight jacket for when the weather decides to stay in spring mode.
But now I need sleep since it's midnight and I have to get up for work at 5:30.

So cnf2013, usually when a comment you make causes a big stir in a thread, the polite thing to do is come back & apologize to those you may have rubbed wrong, especially since many of those people are your friends.

I'll be the unpopular one, but cnf2013 made ONE post about being tired, which did not reference her child, and this is a shit ton of vitriol in response. Yes, it would have been nice if she had come back soon-ish to respond, but based on her post history, it looked like it was mostly a post and run. When she came back today and saw what's happening in here now, I don't blame her for staying out of it.

Meh. I don't really see vitriol. I think honestly the reaction to her post would have been a lot different if she wasn't known (and I say known based on it obviously isn't just me who has ever noticed this) for being whiney/complainey.
I generally like CNF but when the perception is that all someone does is complain, it's going to get noticed and called out eventually. This was just the platform for that.
My hope is she sees it, recognizes it, and stops complaining. But that's just me.

With you.
This is not the first grad or poster with a LO to complain about lack of sleep in a random thread. I don't remember this intense of a reaction before...and actually I'm struggling to remember anyone expressing they feel any kind of way before.
I understand and respect why it caused a stir; I don't want to minimize what anyone's feelings. I just think it's getting to be a bit much.
There is more to it than this. See my post. See others' posts. It's not about her complaining about being tired (though that's what people made it about - probably to avoid saying the real reason). It's about her constant complaining.
Maybe it should have just been flat out said sooner than it was, but it was put out there what the real issue was.

I agree. Maybe the comment was a bit thoughtless, but why the fuck are people coming out of the woodwork to pile on? How is that acceptable? To me it looks like bullying, and it's disgusting that it's going on in this community.
And what do you want her to say? Apologize for her existence? Give me a break. Scroll though any randoms thread, it's always full of people complaining about every topic under the sun.
I think having this kind of "call-out" is going to turn away new posters much more than the supposed lack of snark.

I wasn't personally offended by her post, but it was clear that a lot of people were, for whatever reason. Seeing that these are her friends, I find it odd that she wouldn't come back and even offer a "oops, sorry guys." I think that would have solved the issue for most people.

Ok, she could apologize for the comment and acknowledge that she is luckier than many here to have that problem. Sure.
But this thread is about more than that. There's posters gleefully tearing her down. Post after post saying what a big whiner she is. That calling her out will prevent her from turning this into another dump of her complaints.
Do you seriously expect her to come in and apologize for that?
FWIW, my comment was in response to all the posts today about her complaining too much/being whiny. It seems there was some helpful discussion about grad posting in the early pages of the thread, which I do not take issue with, but people coming back to point out how she always complains, is too busy "twiddling her thumbs," bringing up how much her LO sleeps is just piling on for no reason.
Maybe it's not "bullying," but it's mean and pointless.

So we should not tell someone when they do something that annoys us?
Granted, it was a roundabout way to get there but yeah. She complains. A lot. And she complains about her kid STTN. It's annoying.
My bad. I'll just continue to roll my eyes in private so as not to be ssssoooooooo mean and such a bully.

Also wtf to "coming out of the woodwork?"
Who specifically are you talking about?
Also as I said before I like CNF. I don't want to be annoyed by her. So now she knows how I personally feel. Maybe she doesn't give a fuck. Maybe she does. I have no problem being honest.

Saying it's bullying is a bit much, tho.
There's definitely band wagoneering. Bullying, tho? No.
Pages and pages of mean comments and harassment? Not what I want this community to be.
