Honestly, what I need to say is, "no matter what, Calvin isn't happening. I like it, but it just doesn't feel quite right. If you feel the same about Malcolm, we need to start over with a new name." But that just feels kind of bitchy and demanding somehow. I don't really know what happened, I was excited about Calvin! But I can't get back on board for some reason.
2dogs2kids, He looked at the entire rest of my name list (which is long) and said, "eh" to all of them except Calvin. And he likes Malcolm... Just not as much. But I'll keep putting the list in front of him (or god forbid he makes his own).
sandandsea, The middle name will be James, after both our grandfathers, so we have to narrow it down!
manybellsdown, There IS time, I should remember that. I think I am stressing about having a lot on my plate right now, and looking forward to having at least one thing done and off the list! I'm too nervous to bring more than one name to the hospital... My mom did this once and ended up legally changing my sister's name when she was three months old because she picked the "wrong" name under pressure. I can totally see myself doing that!
DH set the background of his computer to a Calvin and Hobbes comic so I would have to look at it all day (it is a big screen in my line of vision from where I sit on my computer). So I changed it to a picture of Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly.
vivela, we're kind of in the same boat with Calvin. We were both really excited about it and it's still on our list but I'm having second thoughts. I think it's just because I have to make a decision now, ya know?
You guys have plenty of time to find a name that works. And it doesn't hurt to have a few options to bring to the hospital with you, so don't feel pressured to decide right now if you aren't confident. I'm cracking up at the computer background wars though.
I have a cup of coffee or 1-2 cups of some sort of caffeine every single day. My doctor says it’s fine so I go with it. nymama917 -yikes, your doctor would not be happy with me!! shoogars I lovvvvvve those colors and patterns! Beautiful! I also LOVE the bunk beds-great job! pbandj714 I keep getting confused since you changed your avatar. I love your new one, but keep thinking I’ll see the hummingbirds! @flair underwood OMG!! Just no. Add me to the drinking caffeine club. I did seriously cut back on my Diet Coke habit but lately I've fallen back into bad habits. Also add me to the hiking while pregnant club. We just booked our National Park vacation for next month when I'll be 28 weeks and I'm sure hoping I still have the stamina for hiking!
14 lbs seems pretty darn reasonable. At my last appt (21w) I was up 15 or so lbs and my ob seemed really happy with it (I started out with a normal bmi). Not so sure I'll be quite as happy with my weigh in next week, but we'll see
The bed looks great! DS has the Kura and we love it. He sleeps on the bottom and plays on the top. We have the bright green ikea tent over it for his play area. It's super cute and easy!!

Haha, yea, it was just time for a change! Nothing too drastic though since it's the image I've had in my siggy forever. I just decided I was tired of having such a big siggy, plus I had to find the image again since it was all of the sudden showing up with a watermark on it. All fixed.
sandandsea yes! I knew I liked you! I think some of the judgement was out of jealousy but it was laughable. We are talking about Turks and Caicos in October with DS who will be 2 and new baby. I'm not sure how people will handle it lol
FWIW we took DD to Turks and Caicos at 14 months and in our experience they love kids/babies there. It was a very positive experience for our first travel/vacation with a baby.
I think we're going to plan to go back next winter with both littles
cattuccino glad to hear you had such a positive experience. We've never been. Where did you stay? If we go to T&C we will probably stay at Beaches resort. We love Sandals brand and when we went to Jamaica in April we stayed at Beaches in Negril. It was great and really family oriented, not as luxurious as Sandals, but that's what we expected. The one in T&C looks a lot nicer.

2dogs2kids when we've gone we've also gone with DH's parents, which made the cost more feasible/logical to rent a villa, we've stayed at a couple different ones. The beaches resort there looks great and I've heart wonderful things though! And the resorts are always closer to the shops, restaurants and the great beaches.
I have heard beaches being more family friendly than sandals but cannot say how accurate that is
