Of course I'm worried I'll over or underdress LO for our first walk ... Why is being a mom so hard?
That's what we went with, just a different pattern. I really like it. Hopefully you will to!
Could you pack extra blankets in case it's too cold?
I'm going to put him in a long sleeve onesie, light pants, socks and I have bunting from Carter's that is a fleece bear suit, I'll add a winter hat. I was going to start with a light blanket and pack a heavier one just in case.
I've been up with LO since 5:30a. FI just got up half an hour ago. I desperately had to pee and passed him off to FI since baby is still wide awake. As soon as I sat back down, FI changed him then tried to pass baby back to me. Nope, sorry, mommy needs a break this morning; he's yours for 30 minutes

Got some sleep. DS did not get up at 3am (thank goodness) and DD stretched her cluster feeding to every 2ish hours. DH took one of the night feeding with some pumped milk, but she was still hungry after the 2oz, so I had to get up to nurse her anyway ? I took a shower this morning so I'm debating packing up the kids and heading over to the local indoor playground so DS can run some toddler energy out and for sure be ready for a good afternoon nap.
I think I had a cluster feed last night, and am doing ok but holy cramps Batman! One nurse told me they could last up to 6 weeks, I'm on day 2, hold me!
DS decided that he would not sleep last night unless he was being held. I'm trying really hard to not co-sleep with him bc it makes me a nervous wreck but last night it was a must. After spending almost 3 hrs of rocking to sleep, laying him down, and then 15 mins later having to get him up bc he's screaming I said to hell with it. He was also not content with simply laying beside me. So thank God for boppies. I was able to prop him with it and not worry about dropping him in my sleep. This mommy is tired.
We cannot catch a break in our little family. DD spends her first 5 days of life in the NICU, my dad passed away last weekend, and now we are told DH's grandma won't survive the week. Although her passing is not unexpected, the timing of all this ridiculous.
DH has an interview for a new job on Friday. He really needs to get if for anything else, to turn the tables in our luck.
I'm going to have dinner with some girlfriends tonight. First time I'm going to be a real person in public without LO. I'm pretty excited about it... But I also know I'm going to have a hard time not gushing the whole time about how freakin' cute my kid is. Because he is.
Glad you found one he likes! I got lucky this time and O liked the first one we tried, the Nuk.
I just wish I had tried it sooner considering it was just sitting in a drawer in his room! tonight will be the real test because he likes to fall asleep with it so usually I would have to lay him down and hold the soothie in until he was in a really deep sleep.
I am so glad someone else was holding their babies pacifier in their mouth until they fell asleep now I don't feel as crazy. My DS loves his soothie too and hates all other pacifiers but can't hold the dang thing in his mouth. Your story is 100% like mine.

I got 4 hours of solid sleep last night and 1 cup of coffee this morning.
I feel like a brand new woman!
The bad part of this is I think the reason ds slept extra long was because he was exhausted from crying before he finally passed out. I still have no idea why he was so upset but maybe just because he was overtired too. I tried everything to sooth him, nothing worked.
My FIL Facetimed me at 8:30 this morning. I was still in bed, so that wasn't happening. He is a bit technologically challenged, so I'm guessing he meant to call or text DH to say HBD and Facetimed me instead.

My dh and I joke that's the point when ds broke me, I didn't know about cluster feeding then so I gave up the crib at something like 3 or 5 weeks when I was at my breaking point. This time around it's not bad yet because ds 2 is only 2 days old and I've started side laying. The nurse was impressed that I could do it but I'm just so swollen sitting up to nurse is excruciating.
It was a crazy month and my husband would constantly say, "he spit it out so he doesn't want it" then I'd have to show him if you hold it in the screaming stops! It was a nightmare when anyone would want to hold him will he wanted his pacifier. I'm going to buy a bunch more of these MAMs today! Anyway, I feel your pain. Hopefully he can start holding it in our you find something that works better!

I went over to the bump. It's dead, so dead over there. The birth announcement thread is gone too. Sad. I'm glad I snagged mine a few days ago, and posted it here. I guess that's it, my bump days are over.
Didn't think I would, but I am contemplsting getting a cute Valentine's day onesie for my little one. Anyone else?
I did. It says, "Single and good looking" actually I can't find one in his size that says first valentine's. But that's probably because I'm cheap and only looked at walmart and target!
ShuShuBee I am so sorry about your Dad and now your grandma. Why do these kinds of things seem to happen in groups? T&P for you.
maebb I want to do a card with foot prints! I think I'll do both feet with heels together and make a heart. I'll do one for 5 sets of grandparents and my DH. I plan on doing a footprint craft each month! My DH's aunt does one with her grandson so I'll start with her ideas. The beginning of child made seasonal decorations! :-D
Today is DD's third birthday! She's growing up too fast. She's so excited for her birthday this year! We made the dairy free cupcakes again for dinner tonight. She helped out
Can you share your dairy free cupcakes recipe? My girl's 2nd bday is tomorrow and she can't have dairy either.
heidih21 we use the MAMs as well. I bought a bunch of 2 packs by different brands to try. He'll take Soothies and Nuks as well but the MAMs are his favorite. I went out and got more a few days after we got home so I have two in his diaper bag and some spares at home. We have like 10 Soothies though since that's what the hospital had and they gave us a whole bunch when we asked!
britb618 maybe try the next size diaper up? FTM here but that seems to be the recommendation with blowouts. As for peeing, make sure his little friend is pointing down-- it took FI about a week to realize I was dead serious on that being a factor on him peeing out of his diaper. Many crying fests and clothing changes were the result of his non-listening
Ok point me to these magical MAM binkies!! Please! L will occasionally take a soothie or an avent one but he is not a binky boy at this point. Mama needs him to take one so I can stop being his binky.

Yes! Please do!
yesterday was terrible. i stayed home with the babies in the morning, then went to work, and was so grumpy all day. Taking care of babies is way harder than work. I actually hung up on someone at work because I was just so overwhelmed by everything.

Babies - until they're about 4ish months - have this tongue reflex thing going on. Don't feel bad, they all will pretty much push anything out of their mouths. This reflex is what you're watching for when you get ready to introduce food.

I'm exhausted. All these kids are going crazy. Was it a full moon last night? Or is there a nasty storm coming? Momma is not doing a damn thing today other than feeding and eating. Aand maybe peeing.
