Working again today.... but tomorrow we go to the RODEO!!!!! I am so excited for the rodeo and since hubby's company that he works for sponsors it we get VIP tent and free food and drinks (alcohol and non)!!! We took H last year but he was still to young to understand so hopefully tomorrow he will enjoy it more... we have been practicing our cow, sheep and horsey sounds!
When I work H goes to DC and is there for 12.5 hours a day...it is to far for DH to drive after work to come get him and by the time he gets to him it will be close to the time I would get him anyway..but H is a bear after we get home because it is close to 8 pm so he is hungry ( they feed him a snack of fruit at 6:30 at DC) but he wants DINNER and then bedtime meltdown usually begins around 8:30.... so I told DH last night we might need to think about him trying to get out of work earlier on the days I work to come get H from DC so he can have dinner and bedtime at a normal time...we will see how the next few weeks go....
Good to "see" you dashook, I feel like it's been a while! How's your LO doing?
I'm home sick today, which marks my first day ever at home without F. DH is off too so we plan on bumming around and making the most of this free time. March break starts next week, but DH is working 7 days in a row so I'll be on my own with F. We have a ton of fun things planned (play dates, St. Paddy's party, swimming, maple madness, etc.) so I'm looking forward to it. But I also have a ton of planning to do to get ready to teach Gatsby after the break, so I have to fit that in somehow.
Good morning! It's a rainy day here, so probably a good day to run errands. I took a quick inventory of lo's clothes to see what we need for spring/summer. I'm debating whether to get a light weight sleepsack in the next size up or try transitioning to a blanket. We give him a blanket at naptime but so far it mostly ends up in the corner of his crib. Or if he's fighting sleep it just becomes another object to toss out of the crib. Does anyone's kid actually stay under their blankets yet?
ashlantic F moves way too much to keep a blanket on yet. My MIL made a pattern from our halo sleep sack and sewed a bunch of light weight sleep sacks to get us through to summer. Hopefully she'll figure out how to use a blanket by then!
dashook hope you're doing well! babyw15 have fun at the rodeo! And good luck figuring out a schedule for H! megpie5 feel better. Sounds like a good day to sit on the couch and binge watch something on Netflix.
I was wondering how kml218 was doing! I think tomorrowisanotherday took a job teaching preschool. Hope the transition going back to work has gone well for her and C!

I wonder if it'd be cheaper to buy the materials and sew them ourselves... I got dh a sewing machine for his birthday so that might work out!

Ooh yeah way cheaper. I think she said each one cost around $4 whereas I was buying them for $30+! She said it was super easy too.
megpie5, nice to see you too!! I've been MIA but I missed you ladies! Work is so incredibly insane and my hours are so long; plus TFAS takes up a lot of my mental space these days so when I do get a sec to check in on TCF I sometimes only get to do a quick post on GKU before I have to run off again
ashlantic, H and I were just discussing the blanket issue the other day. It came up because our sitter couldn't find his sleepsack and put him to bed with a blanket. I am no longer worried that he'll suffocate, but there is just no way he can keep a blanket on him and I don't want him to be cold. Sure enough, when I got home, he was sound asleep with the blanket on the other side of the crib. I actually picked him up and put the sleepsack on. Thankfully he only woke for a sec when I did that and went right back down!
megpie5 well that seals the deal! DH is going to have a new project to work on. dashook it sounds like we're exactly on the same page. Those were all my points discussing it with dh.
So I am looking for some healthy snack options that we can take with us to Disney.....the last time we went he wasn't eating as much as he is now and I want him to be able to have more healthy options to choose from...we will have a small backpack with us, any help appreciated!

Our car broke down last night when we were about 40 min from home so that was fun. Thankfully DH was with us so I put LO in the carrier and walked about a mile to a starbucks nearby. A friend came to our rescue and gave us a ride home. I really hope it's not a major issue because we are doing sooo good with paying off debt and I don't want this to be too big of a bump in that.
That friend also told us that him and his wife are pregnant. I couldn't help but feel jealous. He said they weren't even trying either. Ugh. I wish people would keep those kinds of comments to themselves.

DH and I are going to Chicago today! My parents are watching Landon while we do some shopping. Then tonight DH has an interview in one of the NW 'burbs! I'm excited for Ikea and pizza

After the first fleece swaddle sleep sacks (which we expensive!) I have made all of our sleep sacks. They are super easy and way cheaper! I just put snaps on the shoulders and don't mess with a zipper or anything like that. I hate putting in zippers! They only take me about 30 minutes to make, that includes cutting out and everything. There are so many free patterns on Pinterest that you can download and use that for your template. ETA tag ashlantic

Loss warning
My brother just texted me. My SIL was actually 16 weeks along. Not that it matters. I just can't imagine what they are going through right now. I'm heartbroken for them.
dashook Hi! I see you pop up sometimes on GKU I have been slacking over there in the last couple weeks. megpie5 hope you get to feeling better. Catch up on Netflix! landonsmom15 have fun! BabyStandish oh the sucks, hopefully it is a minor issue. Sorry for the thoughtlessness of other people. It stinks when you are trying and people say they got pregnant so easy. babyw15 my little guy loves Teddy Graham's and raisins as snacks and I always keep some in the diaper bag.
So LO must have listened to my pedi and has gone back to nursing with a vengeance. I'm working on getting her to take the lactose free milk but I think I'm going to have to go back and by the safe toddler formula. Boo.

F*@# work. I was given tighter deadlines this week and I planned and prepped. And this guy gave me bad info Monday which means everything I did Tues and Weds has to be redone today. And they expect I get that plus my other reports done by tomorrow? How do you do the math and come up with the same answer? I'm 2 days behind, accept it and stop pressuring me.

It's hard to watch someone you care go thru something like that...anyone really.

babyw15, my LO likes cheese (we do strips of sharp cheddar for him); you could also look do cut up fruit like grapes which do okay unrefrigerated, or dried fruit like raisins, fruit leathers, etc. My little guy likes bread a real lot too (just a straight up slice of soft whole wheat bread to chew on!), and idk if you do peanut butter, but you could do mini PB or PB&J sandwiches.

My H took my son to get his first haircut last night. I couldn't go because I didn't want to see his cute curls cut. The place was great though and even had cards that they gave out for first haircuts with a space to put some of his locks. He looks so much like my H now with his haircut.

we have done gold fish crackers and pretzels, teddy grahams, and regular crackers as snacks in the car. Also cheese cubes, blueberries (well any berries cut up), bread, and other soft fruits. The only things I still avoid are anything really chewy (like raisins) or any raw veggies because of the choking hazard.
