What is everyone up to today?
I'm up early after being up half the night with BH and cramps. I just saw my OB's nurse Wednesday for some spotting and she said my cervix was closed but I think I'm going to have to call.
Morning ladies. The A/S yesterday went well and we took DDs one year pictures. So that was a win. I'm starting to get my cholestasis symptoms though... And that sucks. I was really hoping to dodge it this time and I'm still kind of hoping its all in my head. I'm going to give my Ob a call when his office opens this morning. Otherwise, hopefully the sun will be bright and shiny and we can get some pictures of Dd and I together because for all our photography skills we have yet to pull that off.

TheTuna15 did you have flare ups during your first pregnancy? I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. Gallbladder stuff is no fun. Eta: I read that as cholecystitis, ignore me. Sorry about your liver flare up. That sucks too.

Yeah. It's a little different though because it's not a "real" outside of pregnancy condition. So it's actually, cholestasis of pregnancy, and the only way to manage it is to medicate to treat excess bile and then deliver as soon as possible. There's no way of preventing it other than not getting pregnant. It sucks.

Morning! I hate that so many people are suffering. I feel almost guilty that I'm having a decently easy pregnancy. I'm up and breakfasting with DD. Off to babysit in a few.
My H has been off work all week so we've packed in the errands and activities. We have friends coming for dinner tonight so I'll be cleaning and cooking later, but just burgers and potato salad. I'm still absorbing that I'm having a boy.
housecarder I would definitely call if you are concerned at all. I spotted a lot of my pregnancy with DS because my cervix was so sensitive. I've had some this pregnancy too.
I'm headed in to work. My partner teacher is going on maternity leave Monday and I'm sad about it
DS spends the night at my parents house on Thursdays so I'm doing a couple hours of work this morning then going over there around 10 for a craft day. My grandparents are taking us out to dinner this evening, so should be a good day all around.
TheTuna15, what is cholestasis? I suppose I could google but I want you to tell me.
Cholestasis is kind of crazy and triggery. It's a dysfunction of the gallbladder and liver. You start producing excess bile that your body can't filter out, which is what causes itchiness. There's no way to prevent it and they don't know what causes it other than the fact that it's more common in Latin American and more common if you have a relative who had it. There's only two effects increased itchiness in the mother and stillbirth in babies. So they give you meds to manage the bile if you get diagnosed early, then they schedule you for induction as soon as medically possible. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure that's why my grandmother lost 2/4 pregnancies that she had back in the old country. I'm trying to stay positive, but the recurrence rate is 70-80% and I was hoping I wouldn't get it until the 30's week.
TheTuna15 I am so sorry. That sounds like a special kind of hell. How early were you induced with your first? I had no idea that there was a high rate of still births with this. I thought it was more of a skin condition. Crazy.
So I posted a few weeks ago about transitioning DS to a bed. The conversion kit came in this week, and I'm finding myself wanting to wait more. He JUST started consistently STTN. Like....it hasn't even been a month. I'm not even sure I believe its for real.
He only climbed out once, and it was during a night terror when he thought there was something in his crib. He wakes up in the morning now and calls for DH to come get him. He never tries to climb out. Am I crazy for waiting? A lot of my friends seem to think I should do it now so when the baby comes its not another thing to transition to.
melody330, it's not as bad as some conditions women get during pregnancy. At least I'm not bed ridden, and I can go in for a weekly blood test to make sure my levels aren't excessively elevated. It's a weird thing because I think something like 1 in 20 women in Chile (I think it was chile) get it and their rate is increased by 3% or something. But some women 4 kids full term without any issues with it and other women can't carry 1. There's a ridiculously low amount of research.
cabbagecabbage don't feel guilty! Just enjoy it! I know for me, I love seeing everyone's good and happy moments of feeling movement, a/s's, etc. It reminds me while all of this is so worth it!
AFM... I couldn't get comfortable last night so didn't sleep very well. Then baby girl decided to have a full on dance party / acrobatic session / who knows what starting around 5:30 this morning. She went on for a good half hour or so. It was the most movement I've felt in one sitting before and it was amazing!! I actually felt from the outside, which was cool as well. She must have moved quite a bit because when I stood up it was the first time my belly looked lopsided when I look down. So weird!!
sorry TheTuna15, there's a girl on my other bmb who's had cholestasis with both pregnancies. She was hoping to avoid it this time around also, but is now having semiweekly testing and has her rcs scheduled for early next month. It's wonderful they can do all the monitoring now and do everything possible to ensure the best outcome, but no one needs the extra stress and worry in pregnancy.

TheTuna15,I am sorry you are starting to have the cholestasis symptoms. Hopefully LO can stay inside as long as possible!
housecarder, sorry about the cramps and BH sending you calming ute vibes.
AFM, I woke up this morning and looked at my bank account and realized that my companies payroll didn't pay me my new rate of pay. I still got paid my old rate of pay. I know my new manager submitted the request over 2 weeks ago to change me over. I called payroll and they gave me the lame excuse that it takes over 2 weeks to correct the payroll system and the change just went into effect 2 days ago and missed the payroll cut off. They say I will get paid back pay next check and everything will be changed. Ugh, I was just really looking forward to getting my raise on this paycheck...

sarcaztic10 ugh I hate that. Can they back pay you? When I got my RN it took forever for my company to switch me from CNA pay to RN even though I was working as a nurse. It was such bs.

I'm in the waiting room for my A/S annoyed as f*ck. it was supposed to be Wednesday, they called and had to rebook me, and told me they had today open. I asked about next week and they're closed, so I took this appt even though it's a super awkward time spot for me. Took a half day from work.
So I get here and no one is as the desk. No one comes for 10 mins. My appointment time comes. Finally the girl comes and tells me they're running 20 mins behind. I have to be out of here in exactly one hour 15 mins. She went to the back and said they can do the scan in 40 mins, they'll get me out of here in time. I hope she's right.
I didn't want this time to begin with because it would mean me rushing back to work. Now I have to sit here trying not to pee my pants for 20 minutes, praying that they can get me in and I didn't waste a sick day because work is already on me about all the sick days I've taken. Ugh.

Ok! Got in, got the scan done, didn't pee my pants, just pulled into work on time. I'll find out at my next doctors appt if I need to go back, baby was dancing around so it was hard to get pictures. And I have to go back to pick up the cd of photos.
housecarder sorry you're having some issues! That's good that your cervix is closed. Hoping by your appointment next week you're feeling better and not having any more contractions. Enjoy your weekend off from work!
littlesthobo I'm glad they could get you in and out in time for you to get to work!
ginabini that's so exciting that you felt baby from the outside I feel a lot of movement from the inside and DH has felt a couple nudges, but it's hard for me to tell when I put my hand on my stomach if I'm just feeling it on the inside or both.
AFM, TGIF! It's been so hectic with work projects this week, so I'm looking forward to the weekend being almost here. DH is off work at a decent time tomorrow so we'll finally have a weekend afternoon to do something together which is nice. We're going to work on some baby stuff and start the nursery, woop wooop!
Good thoughts to all those who are having issues. As if pregnancy isn't stressful enough.
I had a weird dream last night that my OB told me that she wanted me to "practice" BFing so she sent me home with a newborn puppy. I made my chocolate lab BF her instead lol.

Haha oh geez, you've got to love these crazy pregnancy dreams! I've woken up so many times going "WTF did I just dream about?!"

This is totally what it has been for me! haha This morning was the first time I was sure I could feel from the outside!
