So our 2016 goals are due on Friday. I hate goals... so pointless. I'm pretty much copy/pasting last years goals with minor tweaks. I have no desire to do any more than the bare minimum to get by.
ETA: Two years ago I actually busted my ass to get my programs launched on time with no issues. I ended up getting rated average (which is considered good). Last year I did just enough to get by and I got rated average again. So why bother?

I thought I tricked myself into not being nervous for today's appointment, but I was so wrong considering I slept zero hours last night. Gosh, brain, it's an intake appt. they're going to make me pee, take my weight, and tell me not to eat deli meat. I think that deserves at least an hour or two of shut eye!
That doesn't sound like an environment I would bust my butt for either anymore goldenlove3
It's just the stupid way they do ratings. It's a 3x3 grid with leadership vs technical skills but you can never reach the top. We compare it to the Brady bunch squares. Everyone gets Alice! Alice is kind of where you want to be because they compare us with our peers. But I really thought I did better than at least some of my peers a couple years ago.

I can see how that can be beneficial, especially if you have a mehh year. But, they've got to realize that they're not giving recognition to those who deserve it. Management is weird. Even in a small company like mine (25ish employees) I can't understand how or why they do things sometimes. I don't envy them either, I could never deal with it all.
Just saw my Doctor and went through all the info from my hospital stay. She wants to keep me off work my entire pregnancy. Obviously this isn't practical. I need an income and I need to qualify for maternity leave after babe is born. We're going to have another chat in 3 weeks and find a compromise. In the meantime I have to find out the minimum requirements to make it work (how many hours of work between claims).
Whoa that's quite the news! It doesn't sound like you were expecting that either. I hope you guys can figure it out, I'm sure you will.

That's pretty crazy that she wants you off work that long. Is your job pretty intense? (sorry I don't remember if you've shared what you do).

When I worked retail, my first year I busted my butt figuring a good review would at least get me a decent raise. I learned the hard way, they will always find "something" that you need to work on so it's never more than a 25 cent raise. I wonder if that's what they are trying to prevent with you!?! If they tell you you're doing better than all your co-workers, you may want more of a raise!?! IDK just an idea.

goldenlove3 my company is similar. Our scale is 1-5 with 1 being the best. My old boss gave me a 3. I really think I do above a 3 level work. When I asked her about it, she said my boss gave me a 3 so why should you get anything higher? Ummm ok. Luckily, I have a new boss this year and she gave me a 2. Which comes with a bonus. Whoop!

The Alice spot still gets you a raise and bonus here. My boss says that it's a good place to be based on how it works. I'm fine with it overall but I just thought I deserved more that one year.
Have you ladies told anyone yet? I told my big sister today because I figured I'd need someone, found out she's also pregnant and is due 11 days before me!?!

That's pretty cool cheshie6! Do you parents know about either one of you yet? Otherwise, that could be fun.
The only people we've told so far are some friends that live OOT. The husband told H to call him when he has a chance. H asked me if he should say anything about us and I said he's probably calling to tell you the same thing (I knew they were trying). Yup, she is also pregnant! So that was fun to chat with her.
The plan is to tell our families this weekend. I'm a little bummed though because I forgot that SIL/BIL/niece/nephew are going to Disney so they won't be there.
danib wow that stinks she wants you off all Of that time!! I hope you can come up with a compromise that will be safe for both you and baby.
cheshie6 and goldenlove3 how fun there are other people in your life pregamt at the same time!! My SIL is due in May and I'm excited to get to talk to her about things
goldenlove3, No to letting our mom know! We both have a history of losses, her's include a still birth at 20 weeks, and so we probably won't tell our mom till after 1st Trimester. I'm kind of glad I have someone to talk to in real life but I'm nervous too.
We think our dad (who passed away 4 years ago ) has a sense of humor though, both of us are due around his birthday!?!
We don't plan on telling anyone else until after the 1st trimester. Not even sure how we'll tell Dh's family as he's not really talking to them. (long story)
What's everyone doing for lunch today? I have a nice, healthy chicken salad in my lunch bag and I'm gagging just thinking about it right now.
I plan on going to the cafeteria for something. Hopefully there is something that looks appetizing down there. Nothing in the fridge looked good this morning.

nuggetrn I have 2 other friends that have been trying so I hope they get KU soon too! We all laughed because we have a bachelorette party in May and half of us might be pregnant.
cheshie6, that's cool that you're due around your dad's birthday. Hopefully that's a good sign
We plan to start telling people this week, just as we get the chance.
DH and I are telling one of our couple friends tonight. Then I am having dinner with some girlfriends so I will tell all of them.
Then hopefully my mom tomorrow and DH's dad and step mom on Friday. And the rest of his family on Saturday. And then maybe my dad and his family on Sunday. I'm still on the fence about that though.
FINALLY! My betas at 14dpdt were 449! Great number and low enough to be fairly confident that there is just one in there. And my progesterone is at a good level, too, so all the injections and suppositories are doing their job.

Ha ha ha! I have a salad to eat, as well. My last 2 pregnancies I had to stop eating salad in the first trimester because the thought of eating lettuce was repulsive.
Ok so I'm not weird. I LOVE salad, I eat it every day but the mere thought of vegetables in any form is making me feel so uneasy/queasy. MH and I work at the same place and I made him come to the caf with me just now because I was overly hungry but also felt gross. So that's nausea huh? Whoever said it feels like a hangover is right. I went with chicken Marsala and white rice.
