DH went back to work today. There may have been tears when he left.
I cried when my mom left; I was scared shitless, which looking back I don't know why bc I was already doing everything LO related. The first week I had her and H. That first Monday alone was scary town, but We had our newborn pics that day out of town so talk about baptism by fire. I literally had an appt of some kind every day the first week. I survived all by myself.

My brother in law is coming to stay with us for a night or 2.
I really had no say, he lives Nashville and doesn't visit much. He has business stuff in the area so he said he wanted to cone meet Emmy. My house is not guest ready AT ALL! Andplusalso who would want to stay here with a baby who doesn't sleep at night. He's going to have to bunk with my son. Guess i should wash his paw patrol sheets. Ugh.
I am STILL bleeding. Five weeks tomorrow. I swear I will be bleeding forever. My post partum appointments are going to end up being at three and eight weeks due to scheduling. My OB acted like at my three week appointment I should be almost finished.
I stopped bleeding at exactly 6 weeks postpartum with DS. Many women bleed for quite a while. I hate when docs only refer to what's most common.
My grandparents got here last night for a 2 week visit. They're staying with my parents, but I'm there every day. Between them and my grandma that lives with my parents I'm completely overwhelmed with grandparents. And I have a feeling I will only be able to hold my baby while she's nursing. Oh well, it's 2 weeks and this might be my grandpa's last trip.

Dang - that is baptism by fire! The first day alone is intimidating, but so far so good.

I want our newborn pics back! She told us 1-2 weeks and it's been 11 days. I sent her a message telling her I'm excited to see them and to see if she has any teaser pictures to share. Hope she sends me something.
My grandmother sent me a judgmental text after I sent out a photo of our cat sitting on Hs lap while he held J, that I shouldn't have her so close to the cat because she could breathe in dander.
Hello, I have two cats. My house has cat hair in it. She's going to be around cat hair.
Not sure if someone else mentioned this because I didn't read the whole thread yet but- studies have shown that kids that grow up with pets in the house have far fewer allergies later in life. It is actually super good for their immune system to have cats and dogs around.
My Newborn photographer said we'd have our proofs back within two weeks from the shoot. Two weeks was Monday. I emailed her this morning with a very nice "where are our proofs we are so excited!" Type message. She still hasn't responded.
J is losing her stump at 6 days. It looks weird and I'm all paranoid about it.
So is E. She started around 8 days. A LC saw it and said it was fine she was just ahead of the "norm". I called the doctor because there was a bit of bleeding and yellow discharge yesterday and they weren't concerned over the phone.

How long till I actually get to raise hell?
I'd email again or call tomorrow. Being late is one thing, ignoring clients is another. Not cool.

I sent a message on Facebook to my photographer with pretty much the same. She definitely saw the message and didn't respond I'm a little early though, 2 weeks for us will be Saturday. But still! Respond to a client and at least give an updated time frame!
We haven't had an appt thread in awhile but had to celebrate. LO had her 1 month check up today (she is actually 5 weeks) and is already 8 lbs 5 oz!! (She was 6 4 when she was born). Crazy growth!!! Her head is also growing beautifully and she is developmentally on track!

It's raining today, and suppose to rain the next few days. I'm just cuddling with baby and watching Gilmore girls.
I've been binge watching Gilmore Girls too. I'm about halfway through season 7 so I'll have to find a new show soon. I hadn't seen it since college so it's fun to watch it again because I'd forgotten so much. (Team Logan and Team Christopher here)

Also binge watching Gilmore Girls and have been for awhile. I am definitely team Logan all the way. Can't wait for the reboot
The first time this kid gives me a four-hour stretch between MOTN feedings and I spend two hours consoling and in bed with a toddler who's afraid of the dark.

Oh, now this just sucks. Fx it happens again when you can actually sleep!

Oh man, I'm sorry. That seems like just the sort of thing that would happen over here too. Hopefully more long stretches soon with no toddler wake ups!
I keep thinking I'm doing pretty well with my lack of sleep then MH will show me a simple meme on IG that goes completely over my head. I stare at them, working hard to figure them out, then give up and he has to explain. This isn't normal. It's interesting...
Got a 4.5 hour stretch of sleep, fed and got C back down in a half hour. Climbed into bed and C started stirring and had a huge blow out. Now we are watching Grey's because she's all big eyes and dancing limbs!

Dare I say it but I think we've established a really loose routine. We go to bed at 11, E wakes up at 2 we fall asleep nursing, he wakes up again around 5:30 nurses and then up again around 6:30-7.
He hasn't pooped at night in four days so no diaper changes until 6:30ish. It's been great.
