Has anyone else experienced swelling in their feet already? I didn't have swelling until 36w last time so this is a bit surprising to me. They are badly swollen, I just can't see the tendons and bones in the top of my feet that I could this morning.
I guess I just need to know how concerned I should be at this point.
cbrandt1, me! But it's not my feet, it's my legs and hands. I have trouble zipping up my boots by the end of the day. It's not gonna be pretty this summer.
I also get short of breath very easily, like sometimes just talking... I mean I'm only 17 weeks.

My pace has slowed tremendously already too! DH has always been the tortoise in our relationship, but he frequently stops to wait for me. It's like my legs are too tired to carry me around... It's surprising how quickly all the things that didn't show up until the end are happening soooo much sooner.
I haven't had issues with shortness of breath yet, but it's definitely harder to breathe through my nose. DH says I've already started snoring...ughhhh
Also, you won't be wearing boots in the supper right?? That sounds super hot!

Haha, I won't be wearing boots, but the cankle situation will be out of control, lol.
My my legs and arms also hurt pretty quickly. I sometimes feel 36 weeks pregnant.

I don't much input about it, but sorry about the early swelling!
My question:
DS has been using his crib mattress for a little less than a year. We're moving him to a bigger crib and putting new baby in his old one. Do I need to get a new crib mattress?

I think technically you're supposed to, but there's no way I could convince DH to shell out money for a new one that's barely been used. Is it the same firmness on the other side so you could flip it? Ours has an infant and toddler side so we couldn't flip it.

cbrandt1 - I would think it's nothing to worry about too much so far. Just make sure you're drinking enough water. Always worth mentioning at your next appointment though.
sodapop - I notice a lot more shortness of breath lately on my nightly walks. I can't remember where I read it but I think feeling shortness of breath due to needing more oxygen to oxygenate our increased blood volume is a common thing.

It's the same firmness, that's a good idea! DS2 won't be using it until he's about 6mos old, so the firmness isn't as big a deal by then as it is when they're brand new, right?

I think as long as they're able to roll and easily move their head then its not a huge issue. But obvs don't put them on a foam mattress.

cbrandt1 yeah totally. I'm in the same boat as you. I mentioned getting a new one and DH was like, "what?! He's barely used that thing!" So yeah. I'll be using the rnp and a bassinet for awhile anyways.
Should I buy a bassinet for number 2? Or just stick to the Rock and Play? DS was in the RNP for about 4 months before we switched to the crib, but I want this! Total waste of money... right?

I also used a RNP for 4 months with my DS, however, I'm considering buying that halo bassinest because bending to get him out of the RNP hurt my back for BFing. The only thing I am worried about is that the bassinest is flat and DS had reflux which the incline of the RNP helped with. Guess we will see!

We have the Bassinest and used it for 3 months before moving him to the crib. I really loved it. I think it made the crib transition so much easier because he was already used to sleeping on a flat surface. He did have mild reflux and was on Zantac for it but I would just hold him for a few extra min after nursing him before I laid him down. He didn't seem to have an issue.
There is a removable "mattress" that you could put a rolled towel/blanket under if you really felt that it was necessary.
My dumb question...do you think it's safe to mow the lawn? It's a self propelled push mower, not a ride on. We don't have a super big yard. Takes about an hour to hour and half to do front, back and sides. H and I were debating the other day if it's safe for me. I actually enjoy mowing because I'm weird.
Also I want to talk about coffee consumption. I've been drinking about two 8oz cups of coffee a day because I'm a hopeless addict. I believe I'm still under the 200mg limit.
Those who drink java how much are you drinking a day?

I don't think I would think twice about it, I think it's a great form of exercise. Are you hesitant for a specific reason?

I can't imagine there would be anything wrong with mowing the yard. Whether push mower or ride on. You could always wear one of those masks if you were worried about inhaling anything, but I really think it's fine.

I'm doing one 10 oz cup in the morning. And then I'm sure I'm having more with chocolate here and there.

My pissy cervix. I had bleeding again recently but it was because I apparently stabbed myself with a yeast infection medication applicator. Other than that I haven't bled since early March when I had an internal exam.

COFFEE!!! I've only been drinking one 6-8oz cup in the morning most days. We make our coffee pretty strong and I haven't been able to find the caffeine amount yet for the grounds we're using so I'm playing it safe. Plus by limiting my AM coffee if I get to the afternoon and I'm really dragging, I'm comfortable having another cup.

Just nervous I guess.
Ah ok, specific reason you were questioning it. I still think you'd be ok. If the mower is self-propelled it's not a whole lot different than going for a walk. And you could always take a break mid-way just to give yourself a short rest.

They're just so expensive! Maybe if you can get one second hand - or even the arms reach mini cosleeper? We used the rock n play for 4 months as well then the pack n play in our room and plan to do the same this time too.

lol yeah I should have been more specific. I guess I could start and if I spot at all stop. I usually take breaks anyway even when I'm not pregnant.

I have a coffee mug a day in the morning, but not like a huge mug or anything. I tried to give it up completely, but was getting debilitating migraines. I don't know how many ounces that equals. I'm assuming I'm under 200ml.
mc13, great idea, I checked out CL in my area and there are some good looking Halo bassinets on there that have barely been used. May be worth checking out.
