Was wondering the same thing. I just got back from D's 2-month appointment. Poor thing got three shots. I wanted to cry right along with him. The upside is he's worn out and hopefully down for a long nap.

I don't know why but I'm more tired now then I was when K was a newborn. Lately, K requires all my attention so lurking and posting is getting more and more difficult.

+1 LO is 7.5 weeks and I have found this time much harder than when she was a NB. Weeks 3-5 were the easiest so far for us. She is really good MOTN but doesn't eat much and then cluster feeds all AM until she gets a good nap, then she gets a good stretch and then is fussy and cluster feeds all evening. Most the time she won't even let H hold her in the evening. It's definitely very draining.

This is pretty much us exactly. From 6-8pm is the worst. It's pretty much a rush to feed her and then get her to bed as fast as possible before she completely melts down.
W is over 9lbs and is finally on par (looks wise) with other newborns. Granted, they are brand new babies, but he's caught up a little!! He is finally getting a layer of fat and even the beginnings of rolls!! Everyone assumes he's only a week old instead of almost 9 weeks.

K is trying to settle for a nap, but she's all kinds of fussy. I have to pick up my 5 year old soon, and I'm pretty sure my 3 year old is going to fall asleep on the couch. Might have to see if my neighbor will walk my oldest home again (we live right next to our elementary school and she walks to pick up her son.)
Afternoons are hard, yo. In August, DS1 will take the bus because picking up at this time of day doesn't quite work.

Just got back from the Pedi for K's 2 month appointment. Stressful doesn't even begin to explain it. They're worried about her weight again. She only gained 1lb 2oz since her last appointment. She eats, I produce plenty of milk (I have over 40oz frozen so far and that's from pumping on average once a day) and she sleeps. What more do they want?
When they gave her her shots she turned bright purple and made a sound that I have never heard come out of a human being let alone my child. She kept screaming at that tone for the entire time I tried to put her clothes back on and get her in the car seat. It was so bad that the pedi poked her head back in to make sure everything was ok because they could hear her throughout the building. I wanted to die. I told the receptionist that I wanted her next appointment to be as late as possible so MH could come. I am never, ever doing that solo again. When he does get home tonight the first thing I'm doing is pouring myself a very, very large glass of wine.

Myfitnesspal needs to have swaying and rocking in a 1,000 degree pediatricians office as a cardio exercise. I think I burned all of my calories for the day just doing that.

Us too, he refuses to be put down before 9 pm though so we either bounce him for hours or have a very fussy baby for the entire evening. I have no idea what to do.

SheilaTheTank - the 2 month shots were the worst out of all the appointments that I remember with #1. If you got through that, the next ones until 2 will be much easier.

Next time try nursing her while she gets her shots. It might help I did that with dd1 at her 2 month shots. Sorry it was so bad . Be prepared for her to be very cranky all day. I ended up sending dh out for tylenol after ours because I had never heard her scream like she was before.

I walk to the school to pick up my niece every day. I couldn't do it if I didn't have my grandma around to sit with sleeping children for me. DS is usually up and goes with, but my nephew is always sleeping and DD is about 50/50. On Wednesdays they have early release and all the kids are down for nap. Bad timing for sleeping kiddos.

SheilaTheTank I nurse right after shots, always, no matter when they last ate. I've always had success in them calming quickly that way. #thepoweroftheboob

I tried this immediately after and she just screamed into my boob. I started nervous laughing and the pedi was like "i'm going to leave now".

Do you have some sort of routine before bed? Can you try pushing it back 10 minutes at a time?

Yeah my neighbor has always been ok with walking him, but I feel bad asking her to do it regularly. It's not much out of the way for her, but I still like to try to do it all myself. Our neighborhood is right behind the school, so they do send a bus into our circle. Next year...

Poor K, poor Mama. She must've been super pissed. Sorry it was so bad that even boob didn't help!

We had shots today as well and mine wants nothing to do with my boob. I thought it would comfort him, but he doesn't seem to want to eat or comfort nurse. He's just being Mr. Cranky pants between naps. Can't wait for H to pick up some Tylenol.

I've mostly been lurking. If I try to post, J needs my attention... She always needs to be held in the afternoons too. Right now she's asleep in the Moby wrap.

Went grocery shopping for the first time today with DS. So much easier than going with a toddler! I wore him in the k'tan and he was content the whole time. I kept finding myself rocking the cart back and forth out of habit. I probably looked crazy.

I went to Target and Kohls today because J is moving to the next size for clothes and we don't have much...I had way too much fun. Whoops. So many cute things!

Have you ever caught yourself swaying/rocking back and forth when you're NOT holding the baby? I do it so often it's funny.

I spent the day consoling a seriously pissed off two month old and trying to reason with a soon-to-be three year about the importance of learning to pull down and pull up one's underwear, I feel defeated. She wanted a pop tart for dinner and I haven't had time to prepare anything else so she got her pop tart. Mom of the year right here.

Yes! Someone actually asked me if I had a baby at home once because I was swaying so much.
