Just catching up now. The chance of him being harmed by any minor exposure he got from nursing one time is almost none, and he wouldn't be experiencing withdrawal from a one time exposure. I'm sorry last night turned out to be so stressful and that you were awake worrying. Be kind to yourself. Baby is going to be fine. I hope you're able to get some good sleep tonight.
Thank you. H was more worried because I take the xanax every night at 8-9 and feed W in the morning at 6. I know from my doc the levels are so low by that time that it wouldn't impact w at all but to think he could have withdrawals over time scared the crap out of me. I'm still pretty on edge with it. The research is pretty sparse and a lot of it is anecdotal.
+1 to what aydee said. Another thing to take into consideration is your LO's age. If he was a newborn you might be a little more concerned, but an older baby can metabolize better and is less likely to be affected if there is any exposure. I know it's easier said than done, but I wouldn't worry about it
ampaints, Thanks for checking in on me. DH left for his work trip right after lunch today and he'll return tomorrow night. Things went fine tonight. Dinner was a little rough in the sense that nobody helped me at all, so by the time I got food, drinks, utensils, and bibs for all 3 kids and a plate of food for myself, everyone else was almost done eating. This is par for the course here. My family is weird. My brother was over here and was somewhat helpful after dinner though. He kept the kids entertained while I was shepherding them through the bedtime routine, so that helped a lot.
I did talk to DH tonight and it turns out that he thinks he can make it home to tuck the kids in for bed tomorrow night, so that's good news. Also, my brother is going to take a half day off of work tomorrow so he can hang out with us in the afternoon. It's just the morning that I'll be totally solo in this non child-proofed house. I can make it work. We may be watching a lot of TV tomorrow morning though!
I dropped my stuff off for the consignment sale tonight. Of course it couldn't go smoothly. When I get there and start to unload my stuff I realize I left a bag of things at home. There were a few bigger ticket items so I packed back up and ran home. Got back and got to unpack again. But they pulled very few items from me, so that's good. Now to wait for Wednesday to go shopping with packmomma !
How does the consignment sale work? Do they give you money now for whatever items they take, or do you only get the money if the items are purchased? What does it mean when you say they pulled very few items from you? Like there are certain things they won't let you try to sell?
Happy shopping! I love consignment sales. You can find some great deals.
aydee it's a huge biannual sale here. You get 70% of what you sell, more if you do volunteer shifts. Over time If you have less than 4% of your items pulled dieting check in then you get fast tracked check in which can save you a lot of time! This is only the second time I've sold b but I did really well with the first sale. Wednesday is preview night for new moms and consigners before it's open to the public. I got a bunch of great deals at the last sale and I'm excited to shop again!
Ohhh, packmomma you might be able to get an everyday stroller for cheap at the sale! I didn't want to forget, but also didn't want to text you at 11. Trying to not be obnoxious. For once
I really want to eat junk food right now but there's nothing good to eat in this house!
This is what I hate about staying at other people's houses! Lol! When my mom and I visit my grandmother (every couple of months). We always take it as our personal pig out time! Lol! We always hit up the near by grocery store for late night snacks and beverages ! I hope tomorrow goes smoothly for everyone and you are enjoying your visit with your parents. Hopefully your mom is loving having the grandkids around! I imagine them being energizing and exhausting for her all at the same time!

Yeah one of the reasons we didn't start me on xanax until he was 6+ months and sleeping through the night was so that he would be able to metabolize any residual meds in my bloodstream. I am trying not to worry about it though. W doesn't show any signs of fatigue but I'm going to work on going med free soon. The anxiety from being on the anxiety meds is not helpful
Ds is on formula. He gets up about 3 times a night and wants bottles. We are switching to whole milk the second he hits 12 months. How do I get to stop the need in tmotn for bottles?
I tried last night and he just woke up fully and sobbed hysterically until I gave hi the bottle. I didn't have this issue with DD. Ds should sleep thru night but he doesn't.
I'm screwed, aren't I? Any advice is greatly appreciated
At bedtime, what is your routine? Is the bottle at least 20 min before you put him down?
Dinner, bath, play. then around 7 to his room with 4 oz and I rock him, feed him and sing. Then when he's finished I put him down and he cries. I let him CIO for 8 minutes then I go back in with bottle, rock him sing to him he finishes bottle. Then I walk and bounce him to sleep.
He gets up and has anywhere from 2 oz to 4 oz. Then gets up 2 hours later for 2 more oz. And if we are lucky he stays asleep until 5. But most of the time he's up a few more times.
Sleep is hard in my house. My DD also runs and jumps into our bed in the middle of all this.

Lol thanks! I turn my phone off at night though because although I have lived on the east coast for the last 15 years my dad on the west coast still doesn't get not to call me at midnight.

ampaints, ME TOO. Already so much stress lifted off me with her being back. H's recovery has been going great! He just had his final post OP visit with the DR yesterday and he was very pleased with his recovery, so Thursday is his last day of P/T!! Wohoo!
I had to get up 6 or 7 times last night and that was for the twins, the baby STTN. WTF kids? I am so tired. I haven't had a night like that in a long time. Days like this make me wish I still drank coffee.

Allo! Haven't been on in about a week or so I think... we went back to PA for a few days so I could go to my best friend's baby shower. She's expecting her first on DD's birthday! So happy for her, it was a great time Glad to be back but now I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed about everything we need to do before we get into the new house. I have to start going through stuff and packing. DNW.
Heading to the science center later today, then probably buckling down and tackling the clutter. It's a start at least, right?
@janetheconquerer It sounds like he's never learned to fall asleep on his own without rocking, bouncing, eating, etc. He may be expecting to eat when he wakes, not because he's hungry, but because that's what he's used to doing.
The sleep training thread has a lot of awesome resources in it. Also, the website preciouslittlesleep.com was a life saver. We sleep trained around 7 months. We had one really rough week and she's been STTN since. I found it difficult for me emotionally to let her CIO for an extended time, but we were all better off for it in the end. She's a great sleeper now.

Repair people come to doc out garage door today. I'm hoping its early enough to hit up the library or park. The spring that helps open it snapped. It's even a challenge to open manually.

+1 on all counts - except instead of twins it was a toddler and baby.
@janetheconquerer I was going to say what aydee did. It sound he hasn't learned to fall asleep alone and wanting milk when he wakes up out of habit more than need. How does he fall asleep at daycare or during the day?

I think he plays his to tired. And H puts him stroller and on a walk during the day to get him asleep. Which I just went to do but H has the stroller. So I put him in car and drove around.
I checked out that website aydee. I'm gonna try some of the tips tonight for night weaning. Plus I'm gonna do CIO for real...I refuse to have 2 crappy sleepers.

Good luck! It was about a week before it clicked for DS. Keep the goal in mind. It gets better.
