Here's a chart I found via Google. Interesting that 96% of babies get between 9 and 19 hours of sleep, that's quite the gap! So housecarder I would say don't worry and enjoy your sleepy, snuggly babies!
L has given me a couple of 6-7 hour stretches (5 weeks old) and I'm one of the moms not saying anything because I know others are struggling.
He does have longish awake periods during the day, depending on what activities the toddler is doing. Some days he sleeps more than others.

M screamed bloody murder yesterday and this morning 10 mins before a massive poop...I'm BF and giving 3 bottles of formula during motn feedings. I feel so bad bc he's obviously in actual pain...anyone else? He's been on the same formula since day 3 and I don't think I've eaten anything out of the ordinary. His poop is fine so I'm hoping it's not a food intolerance issue.

Probably just gas, do you do paced feedings for the bottles? I've heard that BF babies can gulp down bottles too quickly and get bad gas. Formula can also cause constipation, but if the stool isn't hard then it's probably not that.

I'm really bad about not pace feeding with a bottle....I'll try to stick with it today and see if it helps. Poor guy I feel so bad!

Def sounds like gas. Paced feedings and all the gas remedies like bicycling legs, massage, etc should help.
Anyone remove the infant inserts on their car seats yet? They look like they are getting too big for them but I forgot at what weight they usually go.
A has the Chicco Keyfit 30 and the insert comes in two pieces. I removed the piece that goes under his butt a couple weeks ago because his thunder thighs seemed squished but I left the headpiece there because it helps keep his head from getting too wobbly. I think the rec in my manual was 12 lbs but I'll prob leave it till he has a little more neck control.

I removed ours because S was basically still too tall for it with the straps in the correct height position. He has enough head control so his head isn't flopping around as well.

I have a Chicco Keyfit (albeit a 2011 one) and it says remove them when baby hits 11 lbs. It was printed on the sticker on the side, so if you don't have the manual handy you could check that first.
B was screaming and arching his back and totally stiff legs. I threw my Moby on and squished him in. First real attempt and getting him TIGHT. Any suggestions baby wearing friends?

Graham's umbilical cord fell off around 2 weeks. He's now 4 weeks and occasionally has dried blood on his belly button. It's never a lot. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Yes. B's was...messy for lack of another word. I would even notice dried blood on his onesies sometimes. Pedi said its fine when she checked it, and it healed totally about three weeks after it fell off. When is lo's one month appointment? I'm sure it will get checked then!

We go on Tuesday. That's good to know though! I don't remember DDs ever being like that.

E's fell off at 5 days. A week later, we noticed some blood and ickiness and were a little concerned. We had a ped appt when he was 2.5 weeks old, and she said it was just remnants of the cord and would fall off soon. It did within a week, and the belly button looks fine now. So maybe similar?
housecarder he was super comfy and tight! I'll try to get his knees higher next time. He was asleep in seconds after screaming in my face.
This was my first time actually getting him in it. I've tried like 5 times before and it was way too lose every time. I will tighten each rail as I put him in it.
I like that graphic, I saved it and will definitely use it.

melody330, I would tuck his knees in so he's in a frog position. Otherwise, as long as it feels tight I think you're good!
I'll definitely do that next time! Thanks for the advice.
I started wearing ds1 when he was around 18 months, so this is all new to me. It's super overwhelming but B is so gassy and fussy most nights I need to figure out wrapping. He arches his back and sticks is legs straight out so its hard to get him in there. Once he's relaxed I'll get his feet into a better spot!

DS1 was breastfed at the beginning and baby L has been formula fed from the get go. I find L is wayyyy more gassy than DS1 ever was, and I wonder if it's just the formula. I agree that your issue here might be gas.
Definitely try the paced feeding, as well as burping several times during a feeding. Good luck!

Talk to me about gripe water/gas drops. Having a gassy baby is new to me (my first was not), but many signs point to this one having gas pains. I got gripe water and gas drops and tried gripe water before bed last night. It seemed to help a bit. For those of you who use it, how often/how much do you give your baby? I know these aren't intense medications, but I hate giving E additional stuff so I don't want to overdue it. Thanks!

rungirlrun I ise gas drops with S right before he eats. For him it just makes his burps more productive and involve less spit up. The gas drops are just supposed to break up gas bubbles so that they are smaller and easier to pass.
I believe the gripe water is supposed to ease the tummy/intestinal discomfort that comes from gas. Maybe it has a relaxing effect on them?
I used gripe water with L but that was 6 ish years ago and I used the Colic Calm brand.

Thanks sarcaztic10 and melody330. I have the Little Remedies Gripe Water and was confused bc the package said 2.5 mL for babies 2-4 weeks and 5mL for babies 1-6 months. It seemed crazy that it doubles once a baby hits 1 month. Plus the enclosed dropper only goes to 3 mL. I've only given it twice, but the gripe water did seem to help settle his tummy. I might continue with that when he seems to be in pain after eating but will probably try the gas drops to see what works better.

I have the same brand, and I saw it doubled at one month. I start with the 2.5 and if I feel like he needs another dose I'll give it but I usually just give one 2.5 dose.
