How old do kids have to be to get them allergy tested?
My pedi said 18 mo to even be accurate for blood and 3 yr for the prick testing. LO has a suspected egg allergy and I was hoping to get confirmation but she basically just told us to stay away from it until he can get accurately tested.
aydee feel better soon. How are the twins liking preschool so far?
They love it! I'm happy that they're so happy there. It's been so nice to be able to get some one on one time with Abigail in the morning when they're at school. I can also run errands now in the morning with only one baby in tow. I've never known what it was like to do that since I started out with two at once. It's so much easier with one baby at a time, lol!
We're 3 weeks into preschool and Ava has brought home her first cold which she has now passed on to me. I feel miserable. At least it wasn't a puking illness. I know that's coming at some point though. This is the one thing I don't like about preschool lol!
Awwww I didn't know that your big girl was named Ava! I hope you guys feel better soon!
Yeah, I always smile when you mention your Ava too.
My H LOVES to grocery shop. We always went together pre-kids but now he goes every Saturday morning with DD1 during DD2's nap. I offered to do it during the week but he didn't want to give it up. He's such a bargain hunter that I think he's afraid I won't get the best price for peanut butter or something if I go alone. Whatever dude, I hate doing it so have at it.
Just curious as to how much your H spends on weekly groceries....wondering if it makes a significant difference to really shop the best sales. I always feel like I spend too much.
Post kids I end up spending approx. $200 per week for a family of five. It feels ridiculous and I feel like there should be ways to cut back on costs. I do shop sales, but we also buy a lot of fresh produce each week and that adds up.
Packed the kids up with snacks, milk, games, juice, coloring books and toys and now we are hanging at a local brewery...plus they have cornhole and a huge Jenja ad huge connect 4. This is a family friendly brewery....I say winning.
I rarely send DH to the grocery store. I feel like he barely looks at the prices. Also, I have to make the list so specific in order for him to get the right stuff that it's honestly just easier if I go myself. Like, I have to write down the brand, flavor, what the label says/looks like, etc.. It's ridiculous. How does he have no awareness of these things? It's not at all unusual for him to get the wrong thing and then I end up having to return it or find some other use for it.
aydee, omg he needs help. Like by you sending him to the store more and when he buys the wrong thing make him figure out what to use it in. I suspect he'd learn quickly...lol

Bad string of storms heading right for us. Opened the front door, looked out and saw a bigass bolt of lightning off in the distance heading straight down.
We took the kids to a bday party at a movie theater today. It was the twins' first movie in a theater. I spent a lot of time standing in the back with Abigail who was totally fighting a nap despite the darkness. Then DD1 got scared by the movie so I ended up taking her out. I'm just hoping she doesn't have nightmares tonight about the "big scary snow guy" in Frozen.
We're supposed to go to a pool party this afternoon at DH's colleague's house. DNW to wear a bathing suit around anyone from his work. I also don't want any sun exposure on my scar but I have yet to find a decent hat that I can wear that doesn't press on that part of my forehead. I can sunscreen it, but I'm still worried about the sun exposure. Plus being exhausted, there are so many reasons not to go to this thing. I know DH wants to go though, so I'll put on a smile and pretend I'm having fun. Maybe there will be some shade.

NOPE.
Yikes. Stay safe! Are you in an area that gets tornadoes?
Samsung NX58F5500SS. I intended to get a cheap stainless stove because we're selling in 2 years but my H said we might as well get something a little nicer if we still have 2 years to use it. I'm excited!

The thing is, it almost always become my problem to deal with. I know he means well, he just isn't great with details I guess. Plus, if I said, now you have to find some use for this item, I'm not sure I'd want to eat what he makes with it, haha!

aydee it's for Psychology of Child Development. The class will be more interesting in a week or two when we're past the general this is what we'll cover and these are all the theories and get into specifics. I like specifics much better.
Oh and my sister told me today that it's ironic that I'm on a parenting forum because I'm on my phone not parenting. We left for a minute so I wouldn't flip out on her. That was how I started my day It's left a bad taste in my mouth all day.

Because a good parent devotes 100% of their attention on their children during all waking hours, obviously! Wow... that would rub me the wrong way too.
Reminds me of an old fb friend of mine I had to recently unfollow because of the constant stream of "vegan is the only way, all others are horrible people" type of content she liked/shared. One was a cartoon of a mom on her phone with a baby laying next to her drinking a bottle hooked up directly to the utters of a cow, whose baby cow was crying next to it. I don't even know wtf the message of that image was supposed to be.
On the grocery shopping topic, I've been ordering my groceries at Harris Teeter for a while. I like that I can't buy random things I see in the isle and the fact that I see the total as I go. Not to mention no grocery store and they sensibly bag it and load it my car. We spend $150 a week. I usually stock up on things when on sale so that some weeks when I need toilet paper and all of those other things, I can skip buying meat or something.
The bad thing is that two weeks in a row, I got bad chicken from there :/ Not sure if I'm going to continue it.

So DS1 this morning was insistant about not putting his shirt on until.... Wait for it...... He nursed DS2. He was telling me that DS2 was still hungry and wanted to eat all the while walking behind him holding his chest.
