Irene actually gave me a good night (only 1 wake up!! Too bad that between DH and DD1 having a cold and being up several times I hardly got any sleep. Now pumping because engorged. By the time I'm done and back to bed I know someone will be waking me up. I swear, when this baby weans I am taking myself on a weekend vacation just for me and sleeping the whole time.

Last night was...not good. Little guy kept waking up for no good reason. He learned to roll yesterday so maybe having a new skill keeps him up. The rest of the week was so good, so I'll give him a little grace for a couple days.

katelou, last night was a bit better thanks. No MOTN walks! I think we got 3ish hours for 2 stretches. He struggled going back down at the last wakeup, but my H dealt with him. So I'll take it! Not amazing, but I can function like that.

Our turning point seems to be 2:30/3:00. If she wakes up before that, we are usually in for a rough night. If not, she will usually sleep til 6, then be awake for an hour or so, and back to sleep til 9:00 or 10:00.

I wish my kid napped during the day. Between 8am and 8pm he slept for maybe 30mins before noon, 15 mins on the way to hockey around 2, and 35mins while we ate afterwards.
How do I get him to sleep for an hour or two? M
Next question: he gets very fussy at night. Maybe this is a dumb question. But should I just put him down earlier at like 6ish? Vs 7ish?
ETA: I'm also worried this may be hurting him developmentally if he not getting enough sleep :S
When it's bedtime for the little but there's 11mins left in CAN vs RUS ...
Wait for intermission then get the little down as fast as you can!
Re:naps- L only gets a decent stretch in his car seat. Today was full of cat naps for him too. I remember that DS1 struggled with naps until we sleep trained him at 6 months, and developmentally he's fine. I'm not going to stress about it with L until then (although I would LOVE for him to nap better!)

Irene is a catnapper. It's rare to get more than 40 minutes out of her for a nap, even in "perfect" conditions. I rely on stroller walks and the swing to get her to nap these days. I'm not worrying about it for now since she just turned 2 months. Everything I've read says daytime sleep regulates more by 4 months as their circadian rhythms develop by then.SaveSave

At this point, I think it's fine. Around 4 months they have a "wakeful" pattern and their sleep usually gets all screwed up anyway.
However, DS1's bedtime was 6pm from like 5months until around 18 months. Now he goes down at 7:45/8:00. B goes down around 8:30 ATM.

What time does your LO go to bed for the night?
She goes down between 9:00 and 10:00. I've been trying earlier (7:30/8:00), but since we co-sleep right now, that's proven to be difficult because DH is trying to get DD to bed during that time, and the baby just usually isn't ready yet (and neither am I). I'm going to work on getting her in her crib this weekend, at which point we will try to get her down at the same time as her older sister, which is around 8:00.
We had a really busy day, one of H's aunts threw a "meet the baby" party and there were about 40 people that Sam was passed around to the whole time. The poor kid didn't have a nap at all during it because he was too interested in everything going on, so he crashed around 9 and just woke up to eat. I'm hoping he goes right back to sleep, the whole 3 hour time difference has really thrown us all off.

That sounds amazing! I may just be in dire need of an adult vacation
I swear to god if my husband wakes the baby up one more time I'm going to lose my fucking mind.
Same here. He does not understand how to walk quietly or not slam the baby gate behind him.
We are having another terrible night. B barely slept all day and he's up every 60 - 90 minutes tonight. I'm not sure how to function anymore. I wish someone could tell me when this will get better.
It went a million times better than we were expecting! He started melting down a few minutes before we got on the plane so we were thinking "welp, here we go" but I made sure to nurse during takeoff and both times it knocked him out so that he slept pretty much until it was time to start our descent. Couldn't have asked for more from him!

This was us as well. Except from 12:30-3 he was wide awake.
