The wedding was so much fun. I did fail to consider T has never been to church before. Besides yelling "why is no one dancing" when the woman started to sing, he was good. Reception was in a historic mansion. Cocktail hour was a whole bunch of little rooms that the kids loved exploring. It was long though, 4-12 and up in the woods and it snowed so we left at 10.
Thankfully, hockey is not until 4 today so just lounging until then.
I think the boys may have the minor-est (leaving it) GI bug. Col woke up in a pile of watery poop and Chase has already had an abnormally large and soft mess in his diaper. FX that it doesn't get anymore involved.
Other than that, just lots of laundry and a trip to the grocery store planned. I made the poor decision to run outside this morning so now I cannot warm up. Maybe I can talk DH into a solo trip to the store again, haha.
Poor Caroline refused to take a bottle last night while we were out last night, so back to the drawing board on that. However, she slept from 10 to about 6:30 this morning so apparently she's not holding it against me. I woke up with a head cold so I went back to bed when she fell back asleep and slept til C woke up for good at 9.
We had a good time with my sister and BIL last night; I had my first beer since before getting pregnant (!)
My ILs are having a little meet-the-baby party this afternoon for some friends but otherwise not much on the agenda.
Morning! I did not have a wonderful night. I went to bed about 11 and heard DH roll in at about midnight so I'm mad I left him over at our friend's house. Anyways, H was up and not wanting to go back to sleep at one point MOTN so I had to deal with that. But it's 9:25 and I'm still in bed so that's nice. When I finally decide to roll out of bed we are going to head to the diner for brunch. This afternoon the ILs are coming over to watch S while the rest of us go to a hockey game. It should be fun.
We ended up at the Met. We had dinner at a diner in the city. Nothing fancy, just a regular diner. I thought of the discussion we had the other day. MH and I each had a turkey club ($19.95 each), we shared a side of fries ($6.95), my kid had the kid's grilled cheese ($10), kid's chicken fingers were $15 (glad he didn't want them!), drinks were around $5 each with no refills. A really simple diner meal with no frills/no cocktails ended up being $80. Which is probably why I'm not surprised when a omelet breakfast right outside the city is $19, because it almost looks like a deal, lol.
Living in a VHCOL has ruined me. And my wallet.
Holy crap. We had 3 cocktails, appetizer, burger and fries for me, steak tacos for dh and salads for 80 last night.
I'm sure. But I bet the rent is cheaper, they pay staff less, food costs less, utilities are less, etc.
When we went to New Orleans, we had dinner at some place that was well recommended, we each had a couple of drinks, an app, an entree and shared a dessert. Our bill was $80. I'm not kidding you that we checked the bill like 6 times thinking it was a mistake. We ended up tipping a huge amount because we couldn't believe we got a great meal at that price. I remember telling NY friends about it and the reaction was "no way". I mean, they legit could not believe it. So the same way you guys look at my crazy high bills, we have the same reaction when we see a low bill, lol.

Sitting at b&n while Cadence plays with the train table. 3 train cars, two kids and a stuffed dinosaur.
I was going to stay home this morning, but she requested "polaches" so we went to our kolache place, then the pet store, and now here. I'm handing her off to mh this afternoon for a little break. Maybe I'll head to Starbucks to read in peace.
Hey ladies! I think I saw on here not too long ago about pedicures that help you go into labor? Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking to go today! 👶🏻 TIA!
For those of you old enough to know what this is, three-way calling still works! My sisters called me together yesterday. I thought that was a thing of the past.
Also, the bride game my kids disposables cameras last night. My nephew asked me to help him delete some pictures when I told him he was done.

We did 4 way calling with me and all my sisters a few months ago.
$1.99, and actually they had a "kids eat free" thing going on this weekend. The most expensive kids meal was like $5 for shrimp. Our total was around $25 for an omelette meal, chicken strip basket, soda and a kids meal.

Laziest day ever here! We are all in our pjs with zero plans of going anywhere. I'm sipping on some beer and eating junk. Sorry, diet (I told you I fall asleep on the weekends vinolove!). Cheeseburger soup in the crockpot.

These prices are boggling my mind! I think we are probably pretty average. We went out to lunch last weekend and for a burger, fries, wings, juice and 2 beers it was about $50 after tip.
He's much improved, thank you! He only got up once MOTN with a diaper. His rash is still terrible, but doesn't look as much like a wound any more. Thank goodness the diarrhea let up and is giving his skin a chance to heal.
My mom is a saint. She's been trapped under a screaming baby as much as I have. She's babysitting him tonight so we don't have to break dinner plans with friends.
We have tomorrow off, but Pete is going into the office to catch up on what he wasn't able to get done last week when he was sick. My mom rearranged her schedule so she can help me tomorrow and watch X on Tuesday. I figure it will be at least Wednesday before his skin looks good enough that DC will let him come back.
We're going to Olive Garden tonight (not my pick, but whatever). Pete, Atticus and I will all get the spaghetti with kid's marinara (only Dude's will be off the kid's menu). We'll probably each get a glass of wine. So we're looking at around $70 for a very mediocre dinner.

We don't have Olive Gardens, or many chain restaurants. I complain about it a lot because sometimes you just want that comfort familiar food.

Man I want one of their salads for the table, just for myself. And related to the other thread about things that remind of us of college..I used to get their fettuccini Alfredo regularly, omg no wonder I had 3 chins in college.

I listen to a podcast that reviews a different chain restaurant racy week. It was Tender Greens last week and Buca di Beppo this week. Makes me crazy that we don't have any of these things around us.
I know. Everyone was talking about skillet queso at Chillis on Parenting. I looked it up. No Chillis in the entire county.
The rent is too damn high for those sorts of places to come in here.
