MH took B to his first gymnastics class!! He was pumped to go and 'fall everywhere and see some friends'.
I love how he refers to kids he hasn't even met yet as friends. Adults should think like my B, this world would be kinder.
M does the same! When we go to the park and he sees there are kids there, he says he's going to play with his friends even though they are complete strangers. This world would be kinder if we all had this mentality.
Happy Sunday! I haven't checked in here in a while so I thought I would stop in.
Life is just crazy busy. Work took a turn and is now busy and kind of sucks. I'm looking at different options because it doesn't seem like I'm going to be rewarded for working my ass off all the time. DH actually bought me an online web developer course for Christmas because I've been curious to learn and I think I might make a career change eventually if I can. I'm not really on any particular path right now and am getting bored.
We did the 3-day potty training thing with G in November and he has the hang of it most days. Still hit or miss on poop, I think he just doesn't want to take the time to go, but we are working on it. We pretty much just switched to underwear and despite having a few accidents a week we just stick with it. Pull-ups still for night time, not quite ready to tackle that yet.
I am sitting in the lobby of a hotel we have been at all weekend, one of those indoor water park places. DH had a work related convention here Thursday and Friday and we just tagged along and extended the trip all weekend. V is at the age now where she will nap in the stroller really well so I'm sitting here enjoying some coffee and chocolate covered Oreos and just not doing anything in particular. It's nice. She started walking at 9.5 months so the moments of peace are few and far between these days, but awesome all the same.
I listen to a podcast that reviews a different chain restaurant racy week. It was Tender Greens last week and Buca di Beppo this week. Makes me crazy that we don't have any of these things around us.
I know. Everyone was talking about skillet queso at Chillis on Parenting. I looked it up. No Chillis in the entire county.
The rent is too damn high for those sorts of places to come in here.
Chili's is one of our go to restaurants just because C likes it. Its decent, but you aren't missing much!
Quick, anyone who has skates for the toddlers, they need a helmet but what about knee pads? Is that going overboard? kim22 or Cherhorowitz I know your boys have skates
We bought the pads but we haven't used them. Eventually once he really gets the hang of skating, sure. But right now, he's basically MH's shadow and we didn't want to overload him too much. Just walking to the ice with skates and a helmet is tricky for him.
We're going to Olive Garden tonight (not my pick, but whatever). Pete, Atticus and I will all get the spaghetti with kid's marinara (only Dude's will be off the kid's menu). We'll probably each get a glass of wine. So we're looking at around $70 for a very mediocre dinner.
Man I want one of their salads for the table, just for myself. And related to the other thread about things that remind of us of college..I used to get their fettuccini Alfredo regularly, omg no wonder I had 3 chins in college.
That's what I always got. But 3 chins came later. Somehow I ate like total crap, drank like a fish, and was thin.

We just did his bike helmet and snow pants. He has a full set of hockey gear from DS1 that he wears around the house but not on the ice.
Cherhorowitz if you go through the Lincoln Tunnel onto Route 3, in 5 minutes you are in Seacucus, NJ where every chain restaurant in the Northeast and every chain store in the Northeast are located in a 1 mile radius. There are also several hotels so you could stay for days but it will probably be a huge disappointment.
Chase's 2 front teeth cut through last weekend and are still coming out. And it definitely looks like the next 2 top ones are already on their way through. Man, I did NOT miss teething.

kim22 I work there and go to that chillis/red lobster/ Olive Garden at Harmon cove regularly. There's actually a tiny take out sushi place there that's not horrible.
But if I wasn't stuck in secaucus for work I couldn't imagine purposely going there. No offense to anyone that lives there, but my biggest complaint about the area is that it's almost entirely only chain places and there's no good options!!

I feel like we've been teething for months and months and still nothing. Just cute gummy smiles here!
This was us and then Lue finally cut her first tooth a couple weeks ago! I was shocked every time I checked and there were still no teeth!
Josie woke up barking like a seal. I'm pretty sure it's croup (the croup?). Some time in a steamy bathroom, and now she's back in bed. I'm so glad mh is home with me tomorrow. I hope I can get her to the pediatrician, but wondering if they'll be closed. I'm also hoping this does not spread to Charlie.
Ben's got that horrible cough - I brought him to the pedi on Friday and she said there wasn't much we could do for it. It's hard to watch his tiny body coughing so terribly. He's only had a low grade fever thankfully and I'm hoping it passes without Sam or I catching it!!
guster and 73jewels croup really responds to cold, instead of steam. So if you can bundle them up and take them outside for a few minutes it should help. I have never personally dealt with it but my sister's kids get it all the time and that's what she's told me. I hope they're feeling better soon.

Don't worry, I don't live there. There used to be a bar I went to in college for happy hour. It was in the office building across from Cheeseburger in Paradise. I can't remember the name. Is that still there?

When my first kid has croup the first time, I called 911 because I had no Internet friends to tell me it was normal.
The hockey game was fun. Our team lost but not by much. H had a ball and even got her face painted like a buffalo (the mascot). She sat so still, I was surprised.
MIL said S did great at home with her. Now H is in bed and S is playing quietly by herself on the floor because she took a late nap.

Not sure about the bar but the cheeseburger in paradise use still there. When I used to go out for drinks after work we either went to a smaller dive bar or the bar at bonefish grill so we could also eat.
But the toys/babies r us on that shopping center is amazing. It's 3 times the size of the ones by me!
