Took L to the doctor bc he said his ears hurt. No ear infection but on inhaler/neb bc of wheezing. And stupid preschool doesn't give meds...guess I have to work tonight to make up time.
L made it through the night without going to the ER. His temp stayed around 102.6 which is promising. It's still hanging around though so I'm going to call and see if he needs to be seen again or if they can just change his antibiotics. Instead of having in my bed all night, I put him in the PNP and we both slept better. He was so restless he was just rolling around and it was safer for him to be in the PNP. I worry about him falling off of our high bed. So luckily, I feel human again this morning. I need a really hot shower bc I haven't been able to sit him down long enough to grab one in the last 2 days.
Sorry for all the sick kiddos. Hopefully they all feel better soon!
I'm exhausted today. I think I'm going to try to sneak in a nap during nap time. I have a hard time sleeping in our bed. I spend most nights sleeping in the guest room. DH told me this weekend our bed hurts his back too, so I don't think my issues with the bed are due to pregnancy. So it looks like we will eventually get a new mattress. Yay!
Ugh, I am crazy emotional today. DS has been sick and coughing himself awake the last couple of nights. Lack of sleep + pregnancy hormones = me being an emotional wreck. DS broke a bowl today, and I couldn't stop crying about it. H and I got into a little fight about me wanting the tv on to fall asleep. It wasn't a big deal, but I was RAGING mad at him and was still annoyed when he texted to apologize today.
caybeh we got a new bed a few years ago and it was an incredible change! I highly recommend an adjustable bed- it's nice to be able to lounge in whatever angle I want. And on days when your feet are swollen and tired you can elevate them without 50 pillows. Our has a "massage" option too but it just vibrates the bed so it's not that special and is loud.
We have the same bed and it's the best thing ever. Also, if you are breastfeeding, it makes MOTN feedings insanely more comfortable.

All is official and I start my new job in L&D on May 8th. It's full time 8 hour shifts and I don't know how I'm going to survive working 8 hours like a regular person and not 12's (more days off).
Also...it's 12 weeks orientation, I'll be 22 weeks when I start and they have no idea I'm pregnant. That is stressing me out a lot a lot a lot.
I'm feeling all sad about the fact that when we move, my daughter's favorite babysitter won't be able to see her anymore. She came over tonight and we told her the news, and she spent the whole night hugging on her and stuff. My daughter will be fine, she won't remember (she's 2.5) but this poor babysitter -- goodbyes really suck.
andtheheartbreakers, that's awesome! I've always wanted to break into L&D/NICU/postpartum, but the timing was never right, and now I am so part time that the huge change just doesn't seem worth it (I work in step down/MICU).

The 8 hour shifts would kill me, too. Good luck!
I used to be in a surgical NICU and I loved it so much. I've done my whole career mostly in CVICU though and I'm just so tired of dealing with chronically sick people with end of life decisions. So hopefully L&D will be a really nice shift - maintains all the acuity and busyness I love but for a more positive (usually) reason.
I think I'm going to like tha 8's when I go part time eventually and then only work like 2-3 shifts a week but working 5 days a week like a regular person?! It's going to be the worst!!

Hi all! I'm with you emotional ladies...I'm usually sooooo even keel and now I vacillate from tears to anger in seconds. I'm also back to feeling like I need a nap every day. MH has been super moody, too...so the wanna house is super fun these days, ha! I think the nonstop rain and chilly weather definitely doesn't help!

DS preschool is collecting recipes for a "Busy Mom Cookbook". I asked DS what I should submit for a recipe...he told me spaghetti. I use a jar of spaghetti sauce. I don't think that's what they are looking for!

I need to figure out exactly how I want to organize the new house. I also need to go through the rest of the stuff in the garage. I don't want to be taking any unnecessary things with us when we move.
I have two huge yard waste bags full of kids clothes I need to get rid. It is in my way big time.
Then I need to sell the last of my CD stash. I sold most of it on BST pages and EBay. I guess I need to repost it.
andtheheartbreakers I could not imagine doing 5 days a week! It might be nice to work 8 hours though- I did 8's for my BSN clinicals this semester and it was nice to see my kids before and after! It's hard doing 3- 12's and not seeing my kids at all those days. While I was breastfeeding I had to do every other day. It was rough.
My dream is to switch to part-time. That's just not in the cards financially until my H can get promoted, which won't be at least for another 2 years...
I feel like I am going to regret starting this right now...
It all started out organized but as new things were purchased for #2 and as DS grew out of them, things started getting shoved in whatever bin was available. But I must remember how convenient it is to be able to reuse all of this! But it also hasn't and won't stop me from getting new things too- just because #2 can wear all hand me downs doesn't mean he has to 😊
I so agree! I will have to buy some clothes for this boy due to opposite seasons and I'm totally ok with it!

As someone who has done this multiple times, put the bins on the floor, start sorting by size and type (pants, shorts, sweaters, t-shirts, long sleeves, etc). And as you go, toss what you hated or is stained in a pile to toss or donate. Don't bother keeping it. You'll buy some new stuff and have lots of clothing to use.
Then just store it type so that if you need to move up in shirts, you have them all together.
