I am not caught up on spam but wanted to share my crazy l and d visit today. I had contractions about 3 min apart for 2 hours so I had DH come and get me from work then called L anD. They said to come in and my BP was a little high and I was at 5 cm but my contractions weren't super strong. So we went for a walk and I got food and they flip flopped back and forth whether to keep me over the course of the afternoon partly because I am just 37 weeks and partly because my BP got better. I got admitted and got an IV and they wanted to "augment" with pitocin then they said that since my BP was better, it wasn't medically warranted to keep me. All totally fine with me, just a whirlwind. Dress rehearsal, I guess. So freaking dry in l and d, I put saline nose drops are on the shopping list.
I've been on the bump a bit, but going to be headed off. The level of stupid is too high, its not even fun.
I wore my fancy new compression socks today. They are thick and white and go up to my knees. The level of sexy I bring now is off the charts. Anyway, I have ankles!!!! I forgot I had ankle bones! they are so funny looking.
I desperately need to get some compression socks if I am going to make it at work till my due date. I work at a convenience store so I am on my feet for 9 hours a day. The swelling in my calves/ankles/feet is outrageous and chugging water all day doesn't seem to help What kind do you have/recommend flyster?
Hijacking here:
I'm RN so on my feet for 12-13hr shifts. I wear 20-30mmHg compression stockings & just ordered a few more from Amazon around $15-20/ea.
WAHHH you guys, I just need to belly ache for a minute. I had a nasty migraine tonight so I took Tylenol (lol, like that does anything) and laid down early. Then at 11pm I woke up with my mouth and throat full of pukey acid, so I got up to go to the bathroom. Then of course once I was in there (admiring how clean my bathroom was) nothing came up. So I took some mylanta and sat down in the shower for a while. My head still hurts and I just don't want to throw up tonight. I'm going to try going back to sleep in the recliner tonight but ugh, I really just am not feeling too hot. I was nervous about pre-e given the headache and vomiting, but have no swelling or dizziness and everything else seems normal. I'm guessing this is just one of those end-of-pregnancy glowey moments we get to treasure.

Oh my!!! You had an eventful day, glad they could keep LO cooking a bit longer. I had my L&D dress rehearsal over the weekend. It's hard to play he waiting game in triage. I remember just sitting there going holy crap, LO could arrive tomorrow. Kinda glad, I had the dress rehearsal. I filled out all of my paperwork online months ago so I didn't have to deal with it when arriving to L&D. Well I get there and of course their computer system is being "transferred" and they have none of my records! Could not imagine trying to fill out that crap during painful contractions.
I came to share my spam which for once isn't a complaint. Today my in-laws painted the nursery! One more coat tomorrow and then we can finally start moving furniture in and setting it up. I am so excited. I've been wanting to get this done since October, but various circumstances kept delaying.
Tonight DH has asked me about my "push pal" - referring to ChickenOnSunday and then asked what kind of interesting stuff was happening on my "bump blog". He is just cracking me up. Poor guy wants a "Dad Board" but I don't think they are very active/interesting.
Your push pal is trying not to die. I got my third sinus infection of this pregnancy. I'm miserable.
Oh no!!! That does sound miserable. Hope you are able to get lots of rest and feel better soon.

Tag another one on the "I'm so over my job." train. Most of my interesting work has shifted off my desk, and I'm left reorganizing my procedures and begging my coworkers for something, anything to occupy the 8 hours before I can go home. I hate feeling unproductive. Hate it.

Nice! And jealous, we just started to put stuff together for the nursery yesterday. Going to hold off on painting for a bit since I haven't decided on a color!

These were the only ones I found at CVS. They were in the diabetes management section. Someone posted further down about compression stockings, which my mom uses(She has lupus and has been wearing them every day for like 10 years) and I would recommend those more actually. I thought she just got them at a pharmacy, but need to check with her cause I couldn't find any. She might order them online.

I only chose a color the other day. I had to just go pick up every paint chip I liked, bring them in the room and hang the favorites, then just instinctually pick one real fast one day. I realized that thinking about it was stalling me, so I went with my gut. Now that it is on the walls i love it, thankfully. A bright spring green.
Good luck with yours! Looking forward to the putting stuff together part.
