Anyone have any ideas on increasing CM? I had virtually none last month (nothing to remark on/record in FF anyhow) so we used Pre-Seed, but wondering what options are out there?
Also, for those using FF, have you upgraded to the Pro version and did you find it worth it?
hammysmommy I don't have first hand advice on CM but I have heard that increasing water intake can help. As for FF, I upgraded after a year of trying and it's really just a few more things to drive the crazy train...nothing really helpful I don't think, but lots more stuff to play around with (charts like mine and analyzers). I have fun playing around with it but not sure I'd buy it again.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
Hey hammysmommy - I've been told to hydrate, drink a ton of water. Eat/drink foods that are less acidic/hostile towards sperm. As for the VIP version of FF, I had a trial when I first downloaded it and the free version seems to suit my needs just fine. I know some ladies like the options offered though.
Hi hammysmommy, I'm not adding anything new here, I but i've relied almost entirely on tracking CM for identifying FW and staying well hydrated makes all of the difference. Drink all of the water and see if it helps.
To increase CM I stopped taking any allergy meds in like June, then this month I switched from coffee to green tea, stopped taking additional Vit C and D supplements, increased my water intake and started taking a probiotic and added ground flaxseed to my breakfast every morning. I saw a noticeable increase in duration and amount of CM this cycle.
As for FF- I use the free version and like it just fine.

I have definitely noticed that the more water I drink during WTO, the more CM I have. I drink a lot of water, usually close to 3L per day. I tend to get EWCM for days before my FW. When I start using OPKs, I back off on my water intake so that my urine isn't too diluted so I usually end up with less CM when I am actually fertile. I have heard green tea is supposed to help with CM so I may try that when I start using OPKs this month. I use the pro version of FF but that's just because I am a data and analysis junkie. And I had an iTunes gift card sitting around that paid for my year subscription.

I second (or third) the green tea suggestion. Drink a cup a day from CD 1 until O. It made a huge difference for me.

Would iced be okay? I hate green tea, but maybe iced it wouldn't be too bad...
caer - I do NOT like iced green tea...(Tazo from Starbucks - has an anise-y flavor to me...) perhaps tomorrow I'll try hot.
OMIGOSH - if you are close enough to a Sonic...GO!!! Their iced green tea is SUPER tasty!! I don't know if it's seasonal at Wendy's but theirs is pretty good too
After getting crosshairs in FF, do you keep temping?
Some people - me included - do it because it can give you an idea if the cycle will be successful or not. If the temps stay elevated, that's usually a good thing. But there really isn't a reason to (besides the slim chance that FF was wrong about the original crosshairs) and I know that some people don't because they find it less stressful.

I did. With my first pregnancy I had a triphasic chart that was my first clue that I had conceived. With this pregnancy I noticed a spike (though FF did not identify it as triphasic) which prompted me to test. I got both BFPs at 11DPO.

ladystrat, I have always heard that if you get an implantation dip, it is usually seen 7-10DPO and only last a day. I have had several months with a dip during that timeframe and ended up getting AF so I don't read much into it anymore.
I've had dips and triphasic charts and ended up with AF, so I would not read too much into it. I'm going to stop temping after a confirmed O this cycle, it's just too easy to get my hopes up....

hammysmommy , I'd suggest you do for atleast a few more days to confirm ch's don't change. I didn't always after 6 or so dpo but some like to. It's really what makes you most comfortable (sane? )
Also edit to add: Temps post O can mean something or not. I think it is interesting to see what your typical post O temps do; but if reading into dips, rises, etc makes you crazytrain bound then stop. If you have vip ff you can look up gallery charts to see ALL types of temp cycles and the results are both PG and AF... best wishes all
Ok, so I know a few ladies here have done medicated cycles and TI, which is our next step. I have a question about monitoring on clomid. My RE is prescribing it, and when I asked about monitoring she the newest studies don't show a need for constant monitoring. I'm seeing an RE at a pretty well respected teaching hospital, so I feel like she knows her stuff. Plus as a lawyer I hate it when people mistake their google search with my law degree and want to offer her the same respect. So I guess my question in general is, how do you draw the line between informed patient and person with google med license? and Specifically has anyone done a clomid cycle without monitoring?

Except for the first cycle this time, all of my meds+TI cycles have been unmonitored. With #1, I had a tvUS before meds to check ovaries, so she was okay not doing one to check response. This time (new RE) wanted to do tvUS to check response with the first cycle (to see if I was responding to the lowest possible dose, or if we had to up it). I had no issues - I was watching really closely for HSS symptoms and vision issues for the first and second cycles with #1, but until I just wrote it I hadn't even thought about them.
Clomid was a bad match for me though - within 2 hours of taking it I had a knock-down-knock-out migraine. Called the RE to see if I should take the next dose and she was like 'hells no'. We switched to Letrozole and no issues.
Thanks hammysmommy. My RE did an tvUS yesterday and all looked good. It's nice to know other have done unmonitored medicated cycles with TI and been fine.

Smiley face OPKs...
Does the reader stick have to see an increase in hormones between days? I'm wondering if I never got a :-) last month because I started testing on my LH surge day? I was thinking I could use it like a regular OPK, but is it "too smart" and has to see a lower level before the surge to realize that it's a +?

Hmmm I never thought of this. I could be wrong but I don't think it compares one day to the next. Just that test's hormone levels.
Last month I would have missed it had I not gone to 2x a day in my normal FW. Maybe you had a short surge and just didn't catch it?
ETA: I just looked at the FAQ on the instructions for the regular Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test (not the Advanced one). It says the sensitivity is 40mIU/ml. So I'm taking that to mean if it detects at least that amount, you get the smiley.

I used the Clear Blue (not advanced) for a while. For those- Nope, just lets you know if you are over the threshold. I switched to the line type for that reason, I wanted to see it getting darker because I had the opposite issue of multiple smileys on multiple days. Very irritating, too.

I like seeing the line getting darker, too. I use wondfos until the line gets darker and then I switch to the digital because I don't want to have to question whether the line is dark enough to be positive or not. And I like to see the happy face.

Haha... the bolded is why I started with the digitals... I like the happy face too. Nice to see the positive reinforcement... until I found out I had multiple surges. Then i decided the damn thing was mocking me. LOL
