H just left for a business trip. Liam slept pretty awesome, but he woke up three times to eat! That was so unusual for him. One to two yes. Three has been months since that happened! He was awake for about an hour in the MOTN but he woke up at 8:30 this morning in our bed. So that was good.
He scooted backwards yesterday for the first time. For the most part he is in a crawl position but just basically goes in a circle because he doesn't lift his belly entirely lol. And he whines ehhh ehhh ehhh while he does it like this is not what I'm telling my body to do!
The weather is still pretty crappy but I think I'm going to venture out. Business trips are loooonnngggg days
I was really late to work today. Baby was all buckled in as I was loading the car, when I heard the telltale sound of you-know-what. I couldn't let her just sit in it, so we unbuckled and got all cleaned up again. This was after my ice shower. I don't know the difference, but I am now certain we have a gas water heater. We got a new gas meter yesterday and they hadn't turned the gas back on/lit the pilot yet. ...Invigorating shower?
jjh1119 I also have a backwards scooter. She gets so upset when she moves away from her toys and can't reach what she was going for.
I'm so glad this is our last day at my parents. I can't wait to get home back to our house. Then we can get back to finishing the restaining of the cabinets and put the pantry in place and move everything around. I want the kitchen back together so badly. So that I can use it again.
I'm over my family's play by play posting of the hawks games. I'm so glad they won last night so my news feed wasn't filled with more game info and gripping about calls and plays. They are way invested in their team and I don't know why that is.

zengal - I hate those little morning set backs and ugh to the cold shower!!
Does anyone else have a baby who just scoots and flings themselves all over the place? LO is so close to crawling it scares me. But even more so, he literally just flings himself all over the place. I didn't mention this before but last week dh told me he had him sitting next to him on the couch, when LO suddenly flung himself forward, throwing himself off the couch, rolling himself off the dog (who didn't flinch) and landing on his butt (looking quite proud of himself). DH said he almost had a panic attack and was afraid to tell me about it. Poor guy. This kid wants to be on the move constantly. I can't leave him on the bed anymore as he rolls over ... and over and over to get to wherever he wants to be. Apparently I have an active kid.
We're also business tripping here, jjh1119. They are really long days and our sitter can't stay past 2pm this afternoon, but I work (from home) until 5? Ha. Ha. Ha. Tomorrow I'm calling in after work reinforcements to help with dinner, bed time, general mom sanity needs. I also prepped some lunches and dinners for the next two days this morning. I find if I don't have food in the fridge I can just shovel in my mouth, mom doesn't eat. Did I mention we're business tripping again next week? Ha. Ha. Ha.
I also was up to feed twice last night, and after the second feeding she was NOT into the idea of sleeping. It was really weird. She just keep sleep yelling until I went back in, rocked her for 30 seconds then laid her down. She's such a weirdo, but my favorite weirdo.

So many babies figuring out crawling! M gets up on his knees and rocks, but only in bed. Go figure.
I'm working on cleaning out our 9 cube shelf in the living room. The plan is for junk to go in the trash, and then toys to go in the empty cubes. My living room is a landmine of ankle twisting toys right now. One of the things that went in the recycle pile might have been the sleep training book. Maybe.
MsNicole06 there's a lot of hawks commotion over here too. i'm not a hockey fan but my sisters and baby sitter are. their excitement is kind of contagious though?
ninergirl52, yes, LO flings like crazy. She no longer will just sit nicely by us - must always move. It's funny when people talk about enjoying snuggles I just wonder HOW? Even when she's sleeping she needs to be on her own, on the move, not held by her mother.
zengal poop set backs are the worst. MsNicole06 he gets so angry when he can't get to where he wants to be!
ninergirl52 yup this kid has no.fear. He's already tumbled off the bed. It happened SO.FAST. I was practically paralyzed from the panic and couldn't get to him in time. He is trying to go from sitting to pushing forward on all fours and basically face plants every time. I am teetering between saving him from every face plant but also, he needs to learn and tumbles are just part of the process.
pixie523 that's good that you've prepped some food. Food is one of the hardest parts. I don't intend on cooking for just me lol. I wind up having take out. I have lots of options today, though so we will see. He hasn't been on an overnight trip on a while, so it's kind of like we are out of routine. It was almost easier to say bye when he was only home a day or two between trips. Now it's like uh oh, where's my helper?
So, as you know Liam has tons of hair. And I'm a hair dresser. I can not get this damn kid to tilt his head back anymore in the bath. Like I don't even want to wash his hair tonight. Like, if he only had peach fuzz I could use a wash cloth, but he needs to be rinsed. A lot. Any pointers??? (I realize I wash people's hair for a living, but the sink is tilted back already. And I'm not on the practice of washing a 7 month old's hair on the reg)
jjh1119 use some Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. It really doesn't burn the eyes. (I might have tested it) I've resorted to the dump water over the head and run down the face. DD giggles during this.
MsNicole06 I did the dump over the head and he hated it and acted like he was drowning lol. We use California baby and it's definitely no cry. He rubs his eyes and gets the soap in there with no reaction lol.
zengal, Cold showers are the worst. Hope your day gets better!
wildflower810, I'm impressed that you still even have that book! I would have thrown it in the dumpster by now lol.
jjh1119, My LO has plenty of hair too. I roll up a baby washcloth and hold it on her forehead when I dump the water on. I can usually keep all the water out of her face that way.
LO isn't rocking or anything yet, but she's starting to try to lift her knees under herself to move forward. It doesn't work very well, but she's getting there! Haha.
AH, I'm flooding this thread, but legit question. So, allergies. My H doesn't have any, I'm slightly allergic only to sulfa products, but my cousin is allergic to basically everything on earth. Including peanuts and eggs. My pedi still wants me to wait closer to 1 year with the pb but to try eggs by 9 months. I am so. scared. to try peanuts. Is it typical for anaphylactic shock with first attempt? Like I'm seriously thinking of being right outside the emergency room with trying peanuts lol. Eggs don't have a risk of anaphylaxis so I'm not as nervous to try.
But how did you guys that tried peanut already feel/do? Is there any allergy in the family?
jjh1119 when I nannied I used one of these for the bebe. www.amazon.com/Baby-Shower-Shampoo-Visor-Bath/dp/B002JH7NXO Works pretty well. As for trying the peanuts, MH is also allergic to sulfa and has eczema, but peanut butter is like its own food group over here. I just went for it and watched closely. My baby has had peanut butter twice so far. And, she is nowhere close to scooting, rocking, or crawling. Just plain ol' sitting up. Which is fine by me!
re: nuts - talk to your pedi and see what they recommend? i have an adult friend who does have a nut allergy, and his starts with a rash for a bit before it goes to throat closing... but if you're more comfortable with just waiting, wait! no harm! we did have a reaction to eggs over the weekend - LO got a red blotchy rash around her mouth, but didn't seem to care and it went away within the hour. we'll try eggs again in a few months.
haha I almost posted a pic of the visor thinking I might have to just get it! Good to know its actually used/will be used. Although, I think I might try the rolled up wash cloth first. Genius!
When I asked my pedi about peanuts she kind of brushed it off like, don't try yet until closer to a year. And when I asked about doing it, say, near a hospital she kind of laughed haha. But, because of his eczema it's not too crazy to think he could potentially be allergic!
Liam just woke up from his nap and he is just babbling in his crib happily lol. I scheduled an appointment for a full face wax in about an hour. I'm taking him. But it's to my salon, so anyone would be willingt to watch him for ten minutes lol.

Re: peanuts, there are no nut allergies in my family. Though I have asthma & allergies they are generally not food related. I let him gum on my pb&j the other day. I was ok with it only because my nurse sister was home (& lives around the corner) & we have 2 urgent cares within 5 minutes of our house.
Drive by posting - The consolidation of BMB's in the Index show that 3 months have Password protected boards. I think it's kind of funny but then I thought if people didn't want to put pics of their LO's on the public boards private sub boards would be a great alternative. That's probably not that actual reason but it's a good idea.
Well, waxing appt happened to coincide with Liam being hungry. So while I was getting waxed I had him strapped in his car seat and I was holding his bottle while he ate lol. Now back home for another nap! Maybe I'll have some lunch. The plan was for the front desk girl to hang onto Liam, but a keratin was being done, and I didnt want him exposed. So downstairs in the spa with me he went.

zengal, Gotta love unexpected poop!! I had to buy LO an alternate outfit and go change him while we were out the other day.
jjh1119, I need a haircut sooo badly!! It's been almost 4 mos. Just no time!! And now I'm panicking about what I'm going to do with this mop for pictures on Saturday (LO's Christening). Any spa treatment would be welcome to this mama!! Is Keratin stinky??
ninergirl52,wit until the actual army crawl happens. LO goes full speed..I didn't thin he'd be that fast!!
Not much to report here, just plugging along waiting to go home, finalizing things for Satruday. Can't wait to get out of here.
littleapplemom, I feel you on needing a haircut. I had the slightest of trims about 3 months ago but I probably needed a good 2-3 inches. Now I probably need a good 4 inches off. I have mermaid hair right now! AND I havent had my color done in close to a year. If my tatas were in the same spot as they were pre pregnancy my hair would cover them completely. lol
I hope you can figure something out for your hair for Saturday. Maybe a top knot?
Keratins are definitely stinky. Not as bad as a Brazilian Blowout. I can't even get close to that one. My eyes water like crazy I can't even keep them open. When I was pregnant keratins were not allowed on my shifts which was SO awesome of my boss to do.
I wonder why some boards are password protected? That could be sort of cool, actually. littleapplemom I've bought the outfit while out and about too! Baby doesn't poop every day anymore, so when she does, it's always "whoa!!" Saturday we changed outfits twice in a row. Thank goodness today required only a bootie bath.
jjh1119 I just had to google keratin treatment and Brazilian blowout. If I didn't think it would make the rest of my hair fall out, I would consider it!

Ahhh yes, keratin if you want to keep your curl. Brazilian if you want to straighten faster.
The keratin isn't nearly as strong as the Brazilian. But it does stink, it's pretty expensive, and you're there for 2-3 hours if you have a lot of hair. It won't make the rest of your hair fall out though. I hope it starts to get less for you soon! Since I stopped using shampoo with every wash I have noticed a difference.
Oh, so it doesn't make it straight until it grows out? Dang. I haven't shampooed every day for a long long time. I was using rogaine before pregnancy, and then my pregnant hair was radiant and full and beautiful! Now it's worse than before! Clearly the answer is I should get pregnant again.

zengal, Loaded statement!! Lol my hair is pretty much the same.....was swesome while pregnant and falling out in clumps now, even 7+ mos later.
Speaking of #2...my BFF and I have been friends since grade school. We had always wanted to have kids close in age, my SS is 12 and her son is almost 11, they're great buddies. We made a pact to race for a BFP as soon as she was cleared from recovering from gastric bypass, but a month later I got mine and had LO. She just had her IUD out and let me know that the race is ON!! Guess I should talk to DH about this huh?!
