Morning. 5am wake up here too but this is not unusual for us
We are going to do some shopping today and go out for lunch. I also need to finish my presentation for my interview Monday so I can start practicing. Hope everyone has a good day!
Hugs and coffee for the ladies with rough nights. We had one too but we always do so nothing new.
LO was supposed to get his one year pictures taken today but it's snowing, with freezing rain predicted to come later. Haven't officially cancelled yet but it's looking that way. Boo.
@elf828 I'm in the same boat, but my freezer stash is down to 2 bags so I'm doing it out of necessity. I won't break my baby if I start the transition 3 weeks before her birthday, right?! I only need 2 ounces a day. I don't know why, but it stresses me out. Realistically I know her digestive system will not change in 2-3 weeks.
Oh caer I can always relate. The sad part is we had 3 wake ups last night and I'm thinking what a good night it was.
Sorry starfisher that you're dealing with it too. The good news is my body has kind of adjusted to it. I'm not sure what I'd do if DS slept through the night!
LO had an okay night. DD1 woke up at 1AM to pee and wanted to talk about what Princess was my favorite. I should have just said Elsa so all would be right in her world and she could go back to sleep. I didn't. So that was a fun little middle of the night diversion.
Good Morning! I hit A's snooze button & got an extra 45 min of sleep today! I got greedy & tried a second time. No dice.
We are doing fun baby-less things today to observe DH'S birthday. We're making a pilgrimage to the only Texas location of Geno's East (his gave pizza joint back home in Chicago) and going to see American Sniper & wander around this fanceh waterway area that's there. It's about 45 min away. I'm excited
I feel like a complete jerk. I was sitting at the kitchen table holding DS, and I turned to get a wipe for his nose. At the same time he arched his back and smacked the back of his head into the edge of the table. It was loud and he screamed. We iced it and he seems ok. He wanted me to hold him and I was still sitting at the table. I turned to grab my cup and he arched again and smacked his head on the chair. Not as hard, but still. Ugh
I'm glad you got some extra sleep katybriggs and get to spend some adult time with YH. I didn't chime in to your post, but wanted to send ((hugs)).
mamosey I'm so sorry about your milk defrosting. I hate to confirm bad news, but the thawed out ones you refroze will need to be thrown out. It kills me to say that.
4:38 am here and I just showered. LO was up and went back to sleep with H in bed. I'm a horrible sleeper so I figured I would start my day. I can get the chores done in a quiet house and nap with her this AM.
Oh I'm so sorry mamosey. I think if you hadn't refrozen them they would have been okay for a couple days but you can't refreeze thawed milk. That's awful.
Really? I thought once it had been thawed it had to be used within 24 hours. Well shit.
I checked KellyMom this morning and it said 24 hours. I think that's what I always used as a guide when I was pumping, but I think I did go a little longer if the milk smelled/tasted ok.
On the frozen milk topic What is the best way to transport it? I have a 7hour car trip in a few weeks and I want to bring some so we aren't stuck to the boob for all the feeds. Dry ice in a cooler/cooler bag? Or will reg ice packing it work?

Good morning!
E was up at 5 this morning. I'm pumping and she's playing next to me. I'm relieved to see that some are starting WCM slightly before a year. I just don't have any idea what I'm doing with that. E doesn't turn 1 until 2/20 though.
We don't have much going on today either. H is going to be working on getting the yard cleaned up because the landscapers are coming on Monday. I cannot wait to have a yard again.
ciaomama - sorry about the head bonks. A has been doing that arching business since day 1. We have been trying to break it a while. Our OT told us if you bend his knee they unarch- but that doesn't help unless you catch em.
A had bonked his head so very many times. So very very many, and he's not even walking and falling yet! It seems to help if you react like it was fun. It only works sometimes though.
Gosh, I sound like a smack my kid in the head all day now. Wonderful.

My poor baby is just sleeping and sleeping some more...she tosses and turns so isn't resting well but this little bug she has is just making her tired. She hasn't wanted to eat/drink much so even though we'd switched to only sippies I cheated and am giving her bottles just so she'll drink something.
We're up - I slept like 10 hours which was really, really needed. My mom is in town this weekend which makes me happier than I can possibly explain. We're going to go join Costco!!!!
And we need to go looking for bigger baby clothes for W. Can someone tell me why baby clothes jump from 9 months right to 12-18? That's a huge difference! And it's annoying.
No real plans today. I have to meal plan so I can make DH a grocery list and I have to go to Joann.
I think we are starting the WCM transition today (slowly as I have a lot of freezer milk to use up) but the OCD in me wants to wait until next weekend until she's officially over 1. Who cares, elf?
DH keeps asking why we aren't starting the transition... because the day he turns one nothing magical happens... but in my head it does... So I'm with you... but I've been trying to convince myself to just get going on letting him try it...

Are you wanting the milk to defrost some? You could use regular ice if you are going to use those bags within 24 hours. If you want the bags to stay completely frozen, I would say use dry ice.

Want it to stay frozen. I'm only bringing a few bags so I can give her a bottle and pump to replace while I'm there. Dry ice it is. Thanks ladies!
