Alright ladies, it's time to share! Second tri is so close we can taste it, so I'm sure most of us are starting to relax and feel confident in our pregnancies (though I know many of us will never fully let our guards down). What "jumping the gun" things have you already started on?? CONFESS!!!
Here are mine: 1. We have chosen baby names (one for each sex). 2. I have almost completed my Target registry (we don't need much since this is our second, just some replacement stuff for things that didn't hold up or we gave away. And also diapers, wipes, generic nursery stuff, etc.). If this LO ends up being a girl I will go back and add some baby clothes/girly things. 3. I have 2 lists saved on my IKEA app ("baby girl" and "baby boy," yes, I'm clever!). Mainly nursery decor and bedding (the girl list is much longer, if it's a boy we will reuse a lot of DS' stuff).
So what have you ladies already started rolling on?
Just names, we have our two front runners we're working off now - Griffin (Finn) and Elizabeth (Libby). Other than that I've just done a lot of thinking about how to do the nursery/guestroom combo.
Piper Lilly-lee - Born Sept 11, 2013 New Tiny Human - Due Aug 7, 2015 August 2015 - July Siggy Challenge - After Pregnancy Plans It will start like this:
1) added a lot of stuff to my registry 2) talked to a girl about buying her stroller 3) finalized a girl name (not a boy name) 4) told everyone and their mother I am pregnant
Absolutely nothing, which is kinda stressing me out since the first tri, even though it has been kinda sucky, has gone pretty fast. We need to move DD out of her room and into what is now the playroom which means a lot of work. Once we do that, her current room will go back to being the nursery. I need to get all my diaper stuff out and see what i need. I lent a bunch of prefolds and newborn covers out to a friend, but she is due with her second in march, so we'll see if I can get that stuff back. I also gave away all of DD's 0-12 month clothes, so I currently have nothing. I need just odds and ends like new crib sheets, bottle brush, pacifiers, sleep sacks, etc. I also need to clean all the crap in storage.

Ridiculously, the only thing I'm carting before the horse is a car seat. I'm obsessively researching and trying to figure out what will fit. We had KeyFit30 that I loved but it didn't fit and I had to ride in the back to make it fit. Not doing that in btwn TWO car seats...

I LOVE those names! Great choices. I like names that have cute nickname potential (I love NNs, DS has a bunch of them), but are also classic and boardroom-friendly for when LO is an adult.

Shopping for a crib to convert to a cosleeper for our master bedroom. Pretty sold on it, just picking the right one. Trying to find a used ikea sniglar (sp?) and handy hubster will convert for me. Also I think I'm going to explode before I find out the sex. We have two boys so I will either have to buy nothing, or if it's a girl BUY ALL THE THINGS.
ETA: in reality if it's a girl she'll probably just wear a lot of blue lol.

1. Created a registry that I can't fully get into until I know the sex of baby. I find that I a like neutral items best anyway, but there are a few gender specifics I want to sprinkle in with the general list.
2. Chose nursery/furniture decor- husband is strongly against me ordering a crib I really like. pottery Barn Kids is having a sale and my bargaining brain convinced me it won't go on sale again before August lol.
3. Picked out names. We are both convinced it is a boy so we have only tackled this half-assed.
4. Started talking baby shower stuff with my best friend. She wants to throw it in May before I am too bi and miserable. Summer in NY can be a real bitch.

@mamazbo we have to move my son as well. MH is freaking out about it and wants to have it done by the end of February. IDGAF and would wait until August. Realistically it would be more likely be done by March or April.
We have names picked and I started looking for cribs today. I really want to break lose and get things started but I remain hesitant.
Breastfeeding research and prep. I used my little silicon cups to try to "pop out" my flat nipples last week, left them on way too long for a first time, and am still a little sore. Um, baby steps, aelias. You've got some time!
@mamazbo I am with you on the "where do I even start" front. I've started with the online shopping lists because that seemed easiest! We also need to gut our spare bedroom/office and turn it into a nursery, train DS to sleep in a twin bed so we can have his crib, and round up all of our baby gear. I'm thinking I'll feel more motivated to do all that once we know the sex, and I know exactly what kind of stuff we'll need.
We have a name list going, but we've pretty much stopped actually talking about names til we know the sex.
We bought a couple of toys and a onsie.
I've started looking at BRU and would totally have a registry started if we knew the sex.
We're going to the city this weekend and I fully intend on going by the Coach outlet, if the have a diaper bag that I like I'll definitely buy it.
So nothing actually useful. I could start downsizing the guest/computer room and DS's room, because that totally needs to be done anyway, but I have not.

Her birthday is in October, so I was thinking we could fix up the room as a bday present since the baby will sleep in our room for a while, but then I would have to have her clothes in another room so I could use a changing table... Maybe her new room will be a "Big Sister" present. I am more excited about her room then I am about baby stuff. I want to get her a loft bed and make the underneath a playhouse, I am always looking at Ikea hacks. Something like these
I'm a FTM and 10 weeks today. We have known our baby names since we started dating, over five years ago. I've started a registry in Target. My mom is the one who has SERIOUSLY jumped the gun. She told me she already has the baby shower planned... I'm okay with it, but it is a bit early!
1) I made a list of what we need, old school pen and paper, magnet on the fridge 2) names picked out- Melody Skye/Jack Wyatt 3) buying a case of diapers every week 4) carrier researched extensively, chosen and almost ordered. (Cold feet) 5) husband picking up nursing bras on his way home from work (new with tags, bought on Craigslist) What a guy.
We have names picked (Esther and Elijah), and I bought a new Tula. Since we already have three kids, and our youngest is 2, we still have most of the crap we need, including an infant car seat. We'll just need newborn clothes (gave all ours away), and new homebirth/pp supplies, which we won't buy for a while.
Oh, I also asked a friend if we could borrow her co-sleeper.

I haven't done anything and I'm pretty sure I'm scarred from buying things with my last pregnancy. I allowed myself to order some girl clothes, and two weeks later, she was gone. So this time, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sitting on the couch watching tv and there's going to be a knock at my door. I'll open it, and there will stand a horse. And I will say "oh fuck, where am I supposed to put that thing?" I'll invite it into my house where it will have no choice but to shit all over the floor and consume potato chips and apple juice. Or something along those lines. I might have some of the details wrong...

We've been doing names on-and-off since before we were married, so we're up on that. I also have some fabric picked out that I really want to use for a nursery.
I've looked at cribs and we took a stroll through the baby section of Target. Next weekend we're going to Ikea to look around.
I also started researching baby-wearing, and there are so many very pretty prints for carriers.
I've been pretty obsessed with car seat shopping/comparing. My car is small (subaru impreza sport) and I'm trying to find a way to fit infant seat, booster, and front facing car seat in my back seat. I dont want to a new car.
Being number 3 I don't need much else other than clothes because I gave most of mine away thinking we were done with 2
1) Name picked out 2) Putting DS in a full size bed this weekend to reuse his crib 3) Researching double strollers 4) Making a list (but not yet a registry) for things that I want the second time around... the biggest thing right now is a RNP (Rock and play)

I have name lists going, still undecided there.
I've been watching mom swap for baby stuff. I gave away/sold most of my baby gear from DS.
I bought a car seat, jogging stroller, and two car bases used. Super psyched because it was the same travel system I used with DS and LOVED. Plus, I saved a ton of money and it's practically new.
Also picked up a swing that plugs into the wall. No replacing batteries this time around! And a bunch of maternity tops for the summer.
Ehh the more I plan the more impatient I get so now I'm falling behind.
1. Decided names (this happened before we even started trying) 2. Started a private amazon registry 3. Pinned nurseries and clothing (also before we started trying)
That's pretty much it. I feel like I'm at a standstill 'til we know the sex. I know the Team Green's would argue but that's really how I feel.

This thread is making me want to start more actively preparing... I feel behind now haha! As a FTM, I'm starting from scratch. I didn't really start thinking about getting ready until this week, so any prep I have done so far has been in the past few days.
I have a tentative name list for both sexes, but MH and I haven't had a detailed discussion on name preferences yet. I put the thought in his head to start a name list of his own so we can compare and settle on some options.
The co-sleeping thread has had me researching options for our future LO. I liked the idea of a sidecar crib or Arms Reach co-sleeper but I have a feeling our bed's decorative frame would prevent the mattresses from lying flush against each other. Still more research to do there - I'm hesitant to invest in anything too pricey since who knows what LO's preferences will be once he/she is here.
And... that's basically it, other than reading a bunch of pregnancy books and watching pregnancy documentaries on YouTube. I've got a lot of work to do! But still time... right?
