I've had both boys by myself all afternoon. I had been doing pretty good but I think I've overdone it yesterday and today. My bleeding has been a lot heavier and I'm in more pain than I've been in for a week now. I'm 11 days pp.
aaemommy that happened to me yesterday. I freaked out of course because that's how I roll. I took it easy yesterday and today and it seems to have slowed down again.
My bleeding has has ramped up he past day or so. I'm surprised because for some reason it never occurred to me I'd still bleed quite a bit even with w c section.
MH and I were talking about when we wanted to start trying for another baby. (OMG can't DS be like a month old before we have this convo??) anyway I realized we had always assumed I'd have a vaginal birth and could try to time the babies close. Doesn't having a section mean you should wait a little longer before getting pregnant again?

Ugh westiemom that sounds zero fun. I had a hemorrhoid a couple weeks ago and feel lucky it has gone significantly down with just some more regular baths and a few sitz baths mixed in! Hope your OB has some good advice for you.

My OB said I had to wait 6 months to get pregnant. I don't know if it's the same for everyone.

I was advised to wait a year after my section. I wanted to anyways because I wanted to make sure I could breastfeed a year. I got a bfp a few days after his birthday and ended up having a vbac. If you are thinking vbac I think the evidence supports at least 18 months between births. I actually went into it thinking I wanted another section though.

Due to the circumstances that led to my c section (tilted pelvis due to a back condition) I've been advised that a rcs would be necessary.
We were thinking of trying at 6 months depending on if my cycle has returned since it took us 10 months to get our bfp. Although I realize how long it took last time has no real impact on how long it will take the next time...
Thanks for the suggestion to go to the dr k3am. Turns out it's fissures instead of hemorrhoids so now I have a treatment plan and can hopefully move on from this awful discomfort!

Ugh. I had fissures last time too. I hate those things. I'm so sorry westie.
I'm glad I'm not alone. I had never heard of it until today! What did you do to heal yours? I got a steroid cream and she told me to use a lot of A&D ointment and take stool softners.

I just used stool softeners and waited for them to heal. I wish I had gotten some cream though.

Omg already talking about subsequent babies. Hehe.
My OB recommended waiting a year to get pregnant. But to be a good vbac candidate I had to have a least two years between births.
Is or did anyone still have bleeding (sustained amounts) 2 weeks postpartum? I remember with my DS the bleeding was complete by 2 weeks postpartum.... So 15d postpartum and still rather heavyish bleeding seems a bit odd.

I had fissures with my DS.... I'm sorry you have to go through those as well. Hopefully you get some relief soon!

With DD, I was still bleeding at my 5 week checkup - less on a daily basis, so they weren't worried. Call your doc if you're worried though.

I had almost stopped bleeding and then it ramped up again at about 2 weeks. I had been doing a lot more activity and lifting(probably too much). Now it's almost gone again at 3 weeks.

Go for miralax. Constipation is what I think gave me fissures.

Miralax for the win!!! Helped me immensely after my first delivery.
I'm thinking I'll take it this time around too? DNW to try and poo with stitches!!

I had a c-section similar to yours with my first. I don't have a tilted pelvis but LO #1 was unable to get past my pelvis due to the size and shape of his head and my pelvis shape. In any case, I was told by my OB and the VBAC OB in his practice that it's unlikely that my M16 kid would be a successful VBAC and I'd likely end up with an emergency c-s. So this time will be a c-s as well. I'm alright with it because I won't be torturing myself with 36 hours of labor beforehand.
In any case, I was told a year. My OB is pretty lenient and laid-back but he insisted that we wait a year. He's not a worrier and said it very succinctly. So I listened. You should talk to your OB and ask it specifically if they don't already bring it up at your 6wk pp visit. They probably will because they like to talk birth control.

Yeah they said I should of wait one year at my 38 week appointment. I'll need to ask if their recommendation changes now that I had a c section and would be getting a rcs.
And i agree with you... I'd rather have a rcs than go through that long of labor to likely end up needing another anyway...
